Theres a tool called pingplotter that does all of the analysis for you in realtime with graphs and everything to pinpoint your network issues without having to run all these commands
Great video. In your example having loss on one node typically means the service provider owning that node is choosing not to respond to the ping or ICMP requests. If the loss is not persistent for the rest of the trace till the end then it's likely you are not having packet loss causing end host issues. For example 10 percent on hop 5 would need to be persistent for every hop till the end.
Great Video, easy to pick up hopefully my isp will take the faulty hop server out of the routing, whenever that particular server is involved I get packet loss, when I ping that one directly it gives me four times a "Request timed out", any other server in that "hop chain" response with a ping around 10ms without any loss. Update: My ISP called me 1hour ago, and asked about the screenshot of the pathping route ... quite fast consindering I just contacted them about that yesterday, fingers crossed they can fix that asap.

so i found the issue. the router was updating and looking for other networks on its own without me asking it to. All i had to do was type in the CMD "netsh wlan show settings", one of the last things might say Wireless Network Connection or Wi-FI. Mine said Wi-FI so after no interface+= i put Wi-Fi. then you type this in - "netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no interface="Wi-Fi". basically this disabled auto configuration, and it should respond that it has been disabled.

Wasn't it still dos n Windows 95? In fact, I know it was, because that is the system we had when I was a kid. I remember typing the Windows command into dos to play Doom in winbrick. I doubt they had a terminal$ shell built in to an operating system that ran inside of terminal/shell, did they?
What if the address I am trying to ping just returns with "Request timed out."? If I run pathping to this address, hop 3 shows 100/100 lost/sent ... :/ Do I have to turn off firewalls/antivirus? The game runs perfectly fine most of the time.
It means you connection is dead. If you're getting 100% loss, even to the router, you're not connected right. If you get to the router fine, then see the loss, your router is okay with your computer, but not connecting to the internet.

dude i run a packet loss test on cmd on google website it says you have 0 packet loss then i run another one using tcp optimzer it says i have 17 percent packet loss 18 sent 15 received who should i believe
hey that is really strange. if it were me, i'd run as many tests as I could find, and then see what they're averaging. crazy though to see a zero in one test and 17% elsewhere.
films128 i found out that tcp optimzer was sending 3 packets to each domain on test and when it comes to a specific website it blocks the icmp ping replay so it's not in google it was in that site only that gives me packet loss (*SOLOVED*)
When i did all these things on my PC and showed isp, he asked me....... Yea okay, but what is packet? and i see you are getting proper download speed.....

In Germany they have no idea what I am talking about… I have been calling them for 2 years now. The last time they told me to restart my router… I can’t switch ISP because there is only this one otherwise I have 16mbs download and 0.5 upload :(

So helpful! My internet provider denies any issues yet 100% packet loss every time on one piece of their hardware. Will they fix it? I doubt it.
at that point, get a different ISP!

Hop 2 was just filtered packet. Packet loss is different from filtered packets.

When you say call tech support, which one exactly? The Internet Service Provider or the tech support for the website you pathpinged?

So pathping -4 will so which "hop" is causing an issue . This can be done with -6 ??

It means you connection is dead. If you're getting 100% loss, even to the router, you're not connected right. If you get to the router fine, then see the loss, your router is okay with your computer, but not connecting to the internet.

100% is usually normal, some ips don't respond to your packets
100% packet loss you won't be able to connect to the internet then it your isp blocking icmp replay on their ip

change size of packets being sent in cmd
well, from my stats doing this, average ping was 528ms.
mostly 12 ms but it sometimes spiked to 3000+ms. packet loss 13%
