Pierre, thank's a lot for you commented walk-through of a whole brewday with the Grainfather. I already watched a couple of brewdays on the Grainfather, and they always look like a lot of work, with the external pumping. But that's maybe just my impression. Cheers, keep coming the videos!
Thanks Oliver. The Grainfather can be a fair bit of work really only for all grain brewing. As for a brewing system it's great for distilling and using for partial mashing. Catch you again soon. Pierre.
Enjoying you videos Pierre, they inspired me to start my first home brew that i did on Wednesday. I love that you show when things go wrong in your videos and don't edit them out, it really helps newbies like me learn. Cheers
I really enjoy your videos and channel, Pierre! Considering the wort volume and OG of 1.060 I would use two packets of yeast or a starter. Rehydrating the yeast would also avoid a lot of yeast cells dying in the start due to the osmotic pressure.
I think that's great advice, but the the brew turned exactly the way it should have, brilliant. It did not matter about using extra yeast as it fermented down to 1.017FG. With absolutely no bad flavours. Rehydrating the yeast is a good thing I know I have tried both ways with no discernible difference in flavour. So I choose to add yeast dry. Thanks for taking the time. Cheers Pierre
