I've been in recovery since October 23, 1983 Sunday afternoon. It's only been recently I have found the answers complex posttraumatic stress disorder now the rest is just educating myself to bring all the pieces together that I've found throughout life like a mirror that's been shattered. Now I understand why my brain had a steady diet of cortisol and very little if any oxytocin. Thank you for sharing this information.

The only relationship I've been in in the last 40 years is with my tractor and a few dogs. Dogs seem to get old and die. But as long as I keep the oil changed and the fuel filter clean on my tractor she's always been there real workhorse. Not one time I have ever caught her plowing someone else's field. I can't say that with some of the other relationships I've experienced.

Thank you so much for your teaching regarding complex trauma. I was wondering if you have any specific advice on how to move out of hopelessness. Is it a matter of de-escalating and grounding or are there different tools?

L Love De-escalating and grounding are part of it. You usually have to begin by piggybacking on someone else’s hope. And you usually have to act your way into new feelings (act with a commitment to having your purpose, even though you don’t feel like it; but your feelings will catch up

Where do you draw the line in fellowship ? Between commitment and your mental health ? When you start going into childhood and trauma and everyone is telling you it’s wrong path and you start getting sicker and sicker after attending the meeting and your sponsor is telling you that you should not go into childhood as it’s an excuse ?!
