    Wrist injury has prevented me from pumping the wing super hard like I used to, but with the Foil Drive you can now get to any wind line or gust without annoying those old injuries.

    Great video. I just bought a FD and am a total wing foiling beginner and hope it will steepen the curve for me.

      Awesome, in the beginning maybe focus on just using the wing in your hands and as you improve add the foil drive otherwise its a lot of things going on. If you live in a gusty place the FD will definitely help you through the holes in the wind.

    Same issue with the controller and the wing leashes tangling... I stoped leashing the wing since I can get back to it with the foil drive if I drop it... in light wind it can't go anywhere anyway and in strong wing it slowly keeps flipping over and over... just don't loose it on land

      Thats a great idea not leashing the wing, thanks for the comment :)

    Great video as usual. Living in the Midwest I do a lot of light wind winging it's all I've got! I'm finding as I improve I can get going in 8 to 9 knots but there are of course big holes in the wind inland. So I can pump the board and pump the wing but eventually one just comes off the foil. Am I right in thinking that you have the same issue here - eventually you run out of apparent wind if it's very light? In essence for consistent very light wind once your up foil drive you can keep going but in very spotty wind with big holes one might not get much advantage - foil drive will help getting on foil but it won't help staying on foil?

    Great video thanks! I’m also using Foil Drive Assist for hybrid wing foiling now. I can get going while others are waiting for a bigger gust. However, I can’t maintain flight with just wind at even 10 mph. I can hybrid ride with low power but if I turn it off I come off foil. Any suggestions?

      I would need bit more detail, what's your weight and experience... and also the front foil size you are using?

      Thank you!! 85 kg beginner on 120Lto 138L boards with either slingshot infinity 84 (2100 cm2) or axis png 1150. North nova 7m wing. All good gear so I guess my technique is lacking 😊

      @@ijpopoff it takes quite a bit of experience winging in light winds, you have plenty of foil and your not crazy heavy. When you hit a light wind hole you have to pump the board/foil and the wing to keep the momentum and go slightly off the wind to the next gust

    Foil drive or downwind board? What do you think the answer is!? I’m even thinking foil drive would help pull me through my jibes!

    • @peaplecreative
      @peaplecreative  7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I think foil drive is better because you can get going in next to nothing and no pumping required, lol.

    How much time proportionally did you spend winging vs efoiling?
    After lifting, did you do a straight line pure winging?

    • @peaplecreative
      @peaplecreative  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      once the wing has enough wind (say around 7-8 mph) together with the foil being so efficient I could just wing with no motor assist, the key is to use the foil drive to get board speed, once it pops up you can pump the board and foil. There are times when it's almost glass and I would use about 70% throttle to keep going.

    I tried this setup and I'm not a fan. I hate the controller leash and the trying to press the controller button while I'm futzing around. It might work OK if on a dead flat lake. But any chop and it becomes even more unmanageable for me. My future money will be better spent on larger foils and wings.

    • @peaplecreative

      The remote and leash is a hassle for sure, but I figured if you are loaded up for the day and it’s flat and gutless at least you can get out on the water. I am using FD more for prone foiling whenever I can get out on the ocean side. Thanks for the feedback.

      @@pete3036 because other wingers like to use the FD to get out to the wind line then use the wing. I wanted to see how light wind I could go with it.

    I'm waiting for a 2nd hand FDA, so am interested to know how you manage to hold onto the strap/boom with the same hand as you hold the controller? It's not really clear in the video, so I'm trying to anticipate what I'll have to do. Thanks.

    • @peaplecreative
      @peaplecreative  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If I remember next time I will...Basically its a wrist strap that has a loop you put your thumb through and then you wrap the wrist and its held in place with velcro. The material is like a thick canvas material and keeps your wrist nice and tight.
