@archetypeboxingclub Breakdown of Strikland vs Adesanya and how he used a unique combination of the boxing philly shell to defeat one of MMA's most feared strikers.
Yeah, because that wins World Championships LOL keep believing it. Sean doesn't even believe he actually won. Adesanya was not trying to win the fight. He was trying to win with his bookie.
I love how Sean beat one of the most dynamic strikers ever seen in MMA with a fucking Jab, a straight, and some body kicks😂 it’s genuinely impressive that he did it with so few weapons. Proof that defense is the best offense, if you can’t get hit but can consistently hit your opponent you are going to win 100% of the time.
Those push kicks were enormous, totally disrupted isreal over and over and messed with his balance at range and prevented him from even counter striking
And being smart, tactical, all the way to the finish, unlike that idiot Alex Pereira who would've beat Isreal twice decisively if he wasn't such an impatient finisher.
@@captaindred342what are you even talking about? Sean used a combination of boxing, kickboxing, and Muay Thai. That’s literally mixed martial arts aka mma? You’re out here saying he used one discipline that fight? Cracked out😂😂
He almost always fight smart. Him talking and being loud is just a character that makes it seem like he's not a high iq fighter. He knows what he's doing
Dont forget to mention the march forward and strickland's tall postion made izzy unable to question mark kick or feinting head kicks, was amazing to watch how izzy didt even try those
"No man who beats off of cartoons is gonna beat me" "A grown ass man on tik tok, maybe that's the problem" He won the fight the moment he demoralized Izzy trash talking... He made Izzy face the fact he's no man next to him...
To say that is unfair because “boxing” isn’t a style it’s so old it has basically incorporated all striking styles. There are a thousand different ways to box.
That was a great fight not the most exciting but one to be remembered for all of the other reasons. This year was a pretty good year of fights even in boxing and we still have a few great ones left.
More isn’t always better. Fear a man who practice one kick 1000 times then 1000 kicks 100 times. You don’t need a lot to wine in life. Just stay consistent with the basics. All the rest is fluff.
As much as I love Sean, this style of defense/fighting will only work against a guy who 100% is not looking for takedowns. The Philly shell won’t work against a guy who has an adequate ground game because standing straight up like that is practically inviting a takedown. Props to Sean but if he fights a wrestler next, he’s gonna have to switch it up
Adesanya was not going to shoot a double leg so he stood dead upright knowing this. He has already beat super tough Dagestani Wrestler in prior fight using same style.
And 1 . The game plan for this fight was for sean to use his wrestling on Izzy. He got in the ring and decided to SPAR the fuck out of him. Guys a great champion
Why are you saying that like its a criticism? He had a game plan for this particular fight and executed it. Doesn't mean he is going to use the same style in every fight from now on.
He can't. His tall straight punching style is bad for power punching, they don't teach you that in boxing at all. It was perfect as a counter strategy to Izzy though.
@@s.j.5810 There are and have been many arrogant people in our world. Mozart was arrogant. King David was arrogant. George Washington and Cecil Rhodes were arrogant. Your physique is great man, you look good! Very plain and simple delivery of information as well. Strickland is easily my favorite fighter, no bullshit just basics
First video I’ve seen of this guy! He just gave the best explanation of why Strickland won the fight from any analyst I’ve heard. The one detail I haven’t heard anyone say is how he closed the distance. If you watch adesanyas attacking, it comes from a counter strike mentality when people use jabs and set ups to close the distance. He then evades and counter strikes using his length and reach. Strickland never gave him that opportunity. He just marched him down and closed the distance while still being tight in his guard. Which drew strikes from Adesanya, which Strickland countered and connected. I think how he closed the distance was the most important factor. This guy had a great all around analysis.
You have no idea how fulfilling it was for me to watch him win like that when all my friends used to tell me that stance and style wouldn’t work. Now he won the belt and I can beat em all up ❤
So many people say boxing doesn't work in MMA.. Even MMA fighters say this.. But everytime a MMA fighter uses legit boxing skills in MMA, they destroy their opponents. I've seen it too many times
They're gonna be talking about this fight and using it as teaching material just off the technique and fundamentals alone for years to come. That was an absolute clinic by Strickland.
Seans plan was executed perfectly. Patient, disciplined and accurate. Plus, it seems to happen to a lot of champs where, the pressure of defending gets to you... let's see how long hes able to hold on to it 🤙🏼
Man, the second time I watched that fight, EXACTLY what stuck out to me was how cleanly he was checking Izzy's kicks. I mean he looked like a damn ai robot.
As an Izzy fan, my heart is shattered into a trillion pieces and idk if I’ll ever be the same… As a fight fan, it was a masterclass. Actually amazing to watch. s/o Strickland.
He actually has long strands of wolf DNA. His DNA was altered in a CRSPR experiment in China in 2010. He's only 14 years old. It's in all the medical literature.
It was a complete master class on fumdamentals. He whooped him for 25 minutes with just the basics. Was impressive to watch.
Totally agree
wasn't really a master class...Izzy just didn't show up that night...He looked slow before either fighter threw any punches

Dont forget the push kicks. Sean was constantly poking at him with 20% power push kicks
He has a very effective front kick indeed
Agreed. The push kick also set up his boxing. E.g: the last sequence of the fight had Sean landing an overhand which was set up by a push kick feint.
