World of Hyatt Award Night Points Pricing Explained

- World of Hyatt hotel's award pricing is based on a fixed award chart (linked below)

There are 8 categories. Hotels in category one require the fewest amount of points while category 8 hotels cost the most points.
Within each category, there are off-peak, standard and peak points pricing. Off-peak would require the fewest points while peak dates will require the most points.
Use the Points Calendar for each hotel to see what dates are off-peak and peak dates.
When you get a Chase World of Hyatt credit card you get a free anniversary night certificate that can be used at a category 1-4 Hyatt hotel. You can use this link to identify which Hyatt hotels are category 4. bit.ly/3IgRwzb
Chase Ultimate Rewards and Bilt Rewards points are the only points that transfer to the World of Hyatt program.

I noticed that Hyatt doesn't show it's entire inventory when one choose display the cost as points instead of rates. Example, they don't display ocean view rooms when look for points as mode of currency. Did you face this issue?
Yeah, this is how they always do it. I think the reasoning is that when you book with points they will put you in whatever room they have available, whereas if you paid with cash they will prioritize you in the room type you booked.
When paying with points you might end up in a nicer room, especially if you have status. I have 1 or 2 times. but a lot of times you'll end up in the most basic room in your room type when booking with points.
Do the points expire?
For the rooms that are categorized by letters, can we use fnc’s for those?

It booked very very last minute. Finding award availability at the andaz Maui is tough. From what I hear they like to play games with their award inventory so only recommendation I have is to keep checking and check often 😕

Thanks for sharing such good info! Quick question: Would you book Hyatt from Chase UR or prefer transferring to WOH? There is that 1.25 benefit with the former but chance for a free upgrade and qualifying nights with the latter. Please do correct me if I am wrong.
Transfer most likely is better however I try never to settle for less than 2 per pt.
All of the other answers above are correct. In most cases transferring to Hyatt to book Hyatt hotels is a better option. But in some rare cases it might be better to book through the chase travel portal. I recommend comparing both options each time to see which one is a better deal and requires fewer points
I’ll be there in October! Luckily I reserved before the points per night went up! I think I paid 30k per night. Anything you recommend for the day? Hope you had fun!

Hey Max, It is good to own a Hyatt credit card ?
I have it and it's great! Easy Discoverer status and free night certificate each year!
It’s a good value card because I you get the free night certificate every year you have the card and it’s easy to get more than $95 value out of the certificate. The annual fee is $95
Is transferring UR points to Hyatt the most efficient way to use UR points? I would be missing out on the 25% increase in value when i book that UR vs if i transfer to Hyatt
it's one of the ways to maximize your Chase Ultimate Rewards! You will miss out on the 25% but transferring points in most cases offer better value. Of course always compare your options between the chase travel portal and transferring points.
Anybody know if the BILT credit card can be used to pay monthly mortgage and bills like electricity/water. Those things that actually require a checking account to pay. Would we still get points through BILT credit card?
