As a Bayern fan from Ireland for over 40 years, I always admired Kaiser Franz, I admired him even more when I broke my collarbone playing football and trying to play on , yet Kaiser Franz played in a world cup semi final with a broken collarbone, if you have every broken your collarbone you will know exactly how painful it is to even try and run. Thank you Franz for all you did for Bayern, not just on the pitch but off it as well. Surly we should now rename the allianz arena , the Franz Beckenbauer arena , though I'm sure allianz won't be very keen on that .
What's more, the foul that led to his injury should have been a penalty for Germany. That was painful in both senses of the word. 🙂 Anyway. An incredible match against both Italy in the semi-final and England in the quarter-final. And an outstanding player overall.
@@sweetgiacomo couldn't agree with you more , unbelievable that the ref didn't give the foul as a penalty but as you say both games Vs England and Italy were the best games of the tournament .
You brought light, ease and enthusiasm to my life. I am no football fan. But having grown up since 1954 in West Germany you contributed to breaking emotional ice!
When I grew up Germany were the best in the world at football. And to stand out far above the rest really means something. He was one of the biggest figures in West German history. Many would even argue the biggest.
Such a wonderful player, graceful yet strong and l never remember him committing a foul,he seemed to control every situation.l haven't seen anyone who compares to him since he retired.
Don’t forget winning the European championships 1972, his first ballon d’Or 1972! Winning the European cup three times on the bounce 1974/ 1975/ 1976 and another ballon d’Or 1976. Weltmeisterschaft 1974, after Holland took the lead, at the Olympic stadion, RIP der kaiser. Es tut Mir sehr leid to all at DFB and Deutschland.
We will remember Franz forever, a great player and coach."
Goodbye Der Kaiser
Rest in peace, Franz. Respect from 🇧🇷
Pelé e Beckenbauer dois gênios

Well said. But he didn’t have a broken collarbone. His shoulder got dislocated in the semi against Italy in 1970.
@@sweetgiacomo fairly similar I would imagine, guarantee it was painful, I know it was for me when I tried to play on .

Franz Beckenbauer was a great player and coach in his time, he successfully won the 1974 World Cup as captain and the 1990 World Cup as coach.
Domnul să l odihnească in pace 🥺🥺🥺

RIP Kaiser Franz ❤😢 King of German football 👑
RIP.
Daniel krampah < UK Franz Beckenbauer 🏋️♂️🏋️♂️ ❤ German f.c 1960 1970
There hasn't really been a player like him since. Maybe Matthaeus but they were different. Certainly no-one in the modern game.
❤
Mattheus was great but Beckebauer was the best
Beckenbauer-The man who had everything
RIP great one
Beckenbauer pioneered the World Cup in Italy in 1990 when he began watching football matches standing outside the confines of the bench. RIP Kaiser.
RlP
His teammates were warriors.
He danced football.
The best defender of all time!!!
