  • In this video, Adam explores the latest research and makes recommendations. He believes there are solutions, but they may not be what we thought. Is calcium even necessary? Is Vitamin D overrated-and how much should we take? What about magnesium, and vitamin K? And can we finally resolve the controversy around strontium?
Adam Stark is the 2nd generation owner of Debra's Natural Gourmet in W. Concord, MA. Adam has spoken on and written about natural medicine for 25 years.

Adam should have mentioned that strontium artificially "inflates" DEXA scan numbers without necessarily reducing fracture risk, due to strontium's higher atomic weight. That is probably why the vendor was confident to refund customers if their BMD measurements hadn't improved.
There is also some doubt as to the quality of any bone built with strontium, and how long it remains if one stops taking strontium.

This is really interesting! Thank you. I have always taken calcium in my multivitamin, but when I was diagnosed with OP, I added a calcium citrate supplement and started eating yogurt and cheese daily. About a year later I had a heart calcium score CT scan done. I was thrilled to get a “0” result. My dr was shocked and kept me off statins. Well fast forward 3 years I had another scan. I went from 0 to 15. My calcium went to my arteries! I’m now on statins.

Thoughts on the REM Echolight scan which shows more evidence of bone health and fragility score?

What does he mean by top 20% of vitamin D supplementation being detremental? actual test value or how much you are taking? Been taking vitamin d at 5000 IU due to chronic illness/immun eissues. My ND likes my D around 75. Now I'm diagnosed with osteoporosis at age 61. dairy and gf free 13 years. Stop drinking milk after teens. Exercised daily/walking /hiking 30 years and yoga past 13 years.

Dear Dr, are you saying walking will build bone? Perhaps I misunderstood?

I’ve heard that mk4 needs to be taken multiple times per day. Is that accurate?
