How about a low T score with no fractures? Does that still keep people in the high/very high risk category?

I am very nervous of the meds and heard the drugs make cheap bone and the bone break down accelerates if trratment is stopped.
I would love to be able to do natual treatment if they could work.

If you call OP when a woman falls from normal hight and breaks the bone regardless of her dexa result, is the opposite true then. I have lumbar minus 3,6 in dexa but i have fallen twice and did not break the bone. Does it mean i have no OP?

No. There is bone density and bone quality. Dexa only measures density

So women in the US with osteoporosis are not being treated by doctors but by insurance companies who determine which medicine to take? And oncologists don’t understand bone loss treatment as an issue when a person is taking cancer drugs? And dentists don’t understand how osteo treatments work? Gee … and we are supposed to put ourselves in their care? I do think that a doctor is treating osteo properly if they do as this doctor does with the use of the bone turnover markers to determine the effectiveness of treatment rather than wait for 2 years to get a dexa result and say, oh my, the density is not improving. It’s honestly despairing listening to all the “experts” talking about treatment and not talking about prevention. Women must be sup[ported at the very least in peri-menopause to check bone density and then do dietary and exercise geared towards bone improvement.

Hi : from what I have read on osteoporosis there is no board certification for this medical issue.Noone medical specialty assumes responsibility for osteoporosis- sometimes it's a primary care , sometimes ob/gym, sometimes orthopedist. Good luck , also most docs don't use the blood markers which can tell you earlier than the dexa scan how you are responding to treatment. He is talking about rebound bone loss when you stop prolia cold. Prolia shuts down your osteoclasts temporarily and when you stop it the osteoclasts go into overdrive for awhile and have accelerated bone loss. So then you need 6 months of a bisphosphonate to control this accelerated bone breakdown.

What does it mean to be "added to the group?" Is it a support group? A newsletter? I'm going to email them, but am curious about it. Thanks.
