It's time to get physical with this budget Yawgmoth, Thran Physician deck! Play expendable creatures, sac them to draw cards and remove threats all the while draining opponents of their precious life! The doctor will see you now...Which cards would you include if this deck was more built around the proliferate mechanic?
Nice deck idea. If you don't mind a couple of suggestions? Replace the Mage-ring Network with Bottomless Vault from Fallen Empires and add in Gate to Phyrexia and Phyrexian Tribute for artifact removal. For budget-breaking upgrades, switch one of the mana rocks that enters tapped and adds colourless for Charcoal Diamond, add Phyrexian Tower, Cabal Coffers, Altar of Dementia, Liliana of the Dark Realms (not only does she fetch swamps, with the proliferate triggers you can get her ultimate off pretty quickly, and who doesn't want swamps that tap for BBBB?) and if you're particularly evil, Exquisite Blood / Sanguine Bond. Something like Black Sun's Zenith and Killing Wave are good places to spend all your mana too.
I put together a budget Yawgmoth deck that leans heavily on Proliferation. Two key cards to do that with is Pentad Prism and Gemstone Array. With those two cards in play you effectively remove the mana cost to proliferate. And a good proliferation pay off is with Magistrates Scepter, which can result in infinite turns!
Please help me, I have only been playing a year and don't quite understand the undying part. Say you have 2 undying creatures out, you sac one, put a -1-1 counter on the other, they both come back with a +1+1 counter on them, how does repeating the process kill the one you dont sac, because the -1-1 counter doesn't offset the fact it is basically a 2/2?
I've found this deck to be slow. My last game with it I died on turn 6 after Yawgmoth was exiled on turn 4 directlt after he was cast. I got him out that fast by replacing tap lands for basic swamps. I tend to get ganged up on so decided that Yawgmoth is better not being in the command zone at the start of game. Maybe next year I will rebuild him.
Thanks for the feedback William, the deck does take some time to set itself up but once it goes it is very difficult to stop. Naturally getting your commander exiles and getting ganged up will always make a game difficult.
How is genesis chamber and a creature as well as our commander a infinite? When you put a -1/-1 counter on a Myr token and sacrifice your undying creature it comes back with a +1/1 counter. But if you did it again you would not get him back because he has a counter and undying only works if it has no counters. Did I miss something?
First you sac the undying creature. It comes back with a +1/+1 counter and genesis chamber makes a Myr token. Then you sacrifice the myr token and put a -1/-1 counter on the undying creature (both counters are removed). Now you can repeat the process.
So I have a flippy card called Chalice of Life // Chalice of Death. Life side says tap it and 1 to gain 1 life. If you have 10 more life than your starting total, transform. Death side says tap to make target player lose 5 life. Im thinking of putting this in my Yawgmoth edh deck so if im too low on life from his ability, i have a way to regain some. Do you think this would be a good synergy with Yawg? If so, what card would you suggest from your deck list to kick so I have room for the Chalice? I was thinking the Akroan Horse. Thanks!
Hi Saelryth, I would not put in Chalice of Life // Chalice of Death. As a pure life gain card it is very weak (but great for deck that want many life gain triggers). This deck has no problems with life gain as it is currently built as it has Zulaport Cutthoat, Vindictive Vampire, Falkenrath Noble, Deathgreeter and Gray Merchant of Asphodel to mitigate any life loss from the commander's ability.

You could include Xathrid Necromancer or Rotlung Reanimator in combo with Xenograft for even more sacrificial shenanigans too.
These are fine non-budget upgrade suggestions! Thanks for sharing!

I’d love to see a budget Azusa deck tech from you guys! Keep up the good work!
Me too, I love her
Thanks for the suggestion! We'll add her to the list!
Yawgmoth is my new favorite card. I really hope his price drops, or I hit one in a pack. Love the list, David!
Thanks Brian! Yawgmoth is totally worth the cost though, the rest of the deck is so cheap it kind of softens the blow ;).

Can we get an urza deck next?
Hi Jaden,we're not sure Urza is at $35 right now, it's just so expensive.
@@BudgetMTGDecks oh its quickly rising it was at like 16 last time I checked. Thats unfortunate.
Think it gets banned? Might drop the price.
@@jadenwalcott3312 Right now we are at peak hype so the price will only go down from here. Maybe not much but I doubt it will go higher.
Please flood TH-cam with deck techs!!!!!
We're trying our best! ;)
Do a first sliver deck teck
Thanks for the suggestion!
I am trying to make one under 200 but it is challenging
Nice, can sack another creature and put -1/-1 counter on an undying creature with a +1/+1 and sac them tons of times. Niceee
