    I’m also at 11 months 👍🏻 went cold turkey. I have a very dramatic Mallen streak so there was really no way to hide it. But I love my streak it’s pure white 😊 Thanks for your channel found it late but it’s been of value to me. I did the temp pink at the bottom, it was originally dyed dirty blonde, I loved the pink because it was something different for my 20th anniversary. But it took SO long to come out. Now just trimming it every 2-3 months. I do use No Yellow Fanola shampoo once a week. Thx!

    Congratulations on your journey! I'll also be 40 this year. I'm a light redhead, and I have a few white hairs coming in. You can only see them if you get up really close in the mirror. I'm on the fence on whether to dye or not.

    So excited for you! Excellent progress! I’m currently at about 3 months of grow out. For the one year hair cut, would you do maybe a chin length bob?? It would look so great on you, with the dark bits on the ends- I think it would look pretty cool 😎

    At this stage, I think you would look great just cutting it short and just being done with it.
    I started going grey when I was 17. I dyed it back to the original brown (see my profile pic from a few years ago) up until right at my 50th birthday last October. Fortunately, I live in a state that has not been completely closed for CoVid except for a very short time so our salons have been back open for a while. I would’ve just gone the grow out route except my daughter is getting married in April and I didn’t want her pictures to be marred by my 1/2 brown 1/2 grey hair. My incoming grey pattern is great, so I was trying to just have lots of highlights along the way to hide the grow out process. The only problem was getting ahold
    of the wrong stylist who over-processed my hair and destroyed sections of it. I never intended on going full blonde but that’s where I am right now. The one thing I always hated about brunettes who go blonde is when they use a color that is way too brassy for their skin tone and unfortunately I’ve spent a little time
    along the way with that exact problem. As such, my daughter isn’t a fan of the blonde. Here it is mid-February and the wedding is in 6 weeks. I can’t lie - I’m seriously considering having my hairdresser do a semipermanent color back to brown just for the wedding and then get back to my journey.

      @DitchingDietsDye  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear about the damage to your hair. That's frustrating. I hope you find a solution for the wedding that you are happy with!

    I was using the special shampoo and conditioner for silver or blonde hair and my hairdresser told me it was not good to use it too often so I only use it about once a week now. Your hair is looking great!

    Hey Cat! Happy 11 months. It’s looking great. I love the idea of a pop of color on you. They are two shades from Arctic Fox (temp color) that I think would work on your brown hair: Ritual and Purple Rain. Check them out. I use Arctic Fox all the time on my highlights. I’ll send you a pic on Insta. But if you want to really have some fun. Through in a few highlights once salons are open. Why not??? Then you can do some lighter or brighter shades. Have fun!!

    I'm just a few years younger than you with a birthday next month as well.
    Happy Birthday!
    I stopped dying my hair about 8 years ago due to being lazy and get nothing but compliments as it is "the thing". I didn't know it could change color due to the sun but I usually have it up when outside for long periods, I will look for other videos but can you please give as much info as you have on products? My hair has been so dry now for years.

      She had to bleach it out it was that bad. Now I have white halfway down and blonde the rest of the way down. It’s much better now. This was all pre-pandemic. I have purple shampoo that I use sometimes too. I cut it every 8 weeks. It’s about shoulder length. Maybe a touch longer. 🤗

    My husband stated my hair looked scruffy with 2 toned hair ( it did need washing & was scraped back) I must admit I needed to hear that 😉 so I got to thinking how I could make it look better 🤔. I put my hair up higher & had some loose strands & parted the fringe ( letting it grow) he said soooo much better, a bit of make-up does help 😉 your grey hair softens your face 😂👏🏻xx

    I love it!!! Just the way it is..ombre
    The lighter hair brings out your eyes. Love it!!! Do whatever you want...you will look great with and cut or any length, because YOUR beauty shines from within my dear. 😁 I'm 52...& no dye for years, my kids LOVE my "highlights"
    What I find is that similar to bangs, dye has to grow back out. You're patient and tough. I'm proud of you for going public.
    Those wash out colors would be perfectly fun. You can always use a stripper shampoo. Nevermind the hecklers who only live to complain and correct folks. They don't create their own content, they don't step out in courage and they don't post any video of their own that would be equally open to critics and naysayers and worse. .
    Keep going 👍💃😍 if you WANT to. Always do YOU
    And do it YOUR way. 💐

    Pinks and purples look pretty against the grey hair - and you can use crazy colour toners like Manic Panic, Arctic Fox or my fave La Riche Directions. Beware of using greens and blues as they can stain your hair.

    My hair grows super fast which is wonderful, but three week root touch up was a huge pain. I think I'm about 50% gray. So I quit dye four months ago and I am loving it. I have around three inches of salt and pepper now. Now I'm debating: to cut or not to cut? *halp*

    • @DitchingDietsDye
      @DitchingDietsDye  3 ปีที่แล้ว

  • @cigdemunal520
    @cigdemunal520 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Even the temporary colors stay too long on the hair, even on the previously dyed part. This might be annoying. Please try the temporary dye on a strand of hair which can be hidden away before you decide to put it on all over your ends. You can find many girls on YT trying to get rid of the dye that is supposed to fade away in a couple of weeks. Even if it fades the hair may not return to its original colour. Reds are exceptionally difficult to remove. That is my personal experience...

    oh my gosh
    ....I really thought you were in your 20's or very early 30s ..really..
    I'm 30 I could not even believe my age..but my grey hair started at 23...but 2 or 5 hairs...now ...I have like hundreds..but I am not ready ..cause I don't like grey...Not for other reason...I rather prefer white..real white...well ..sorry I have a real question... my hair..was really strong... Do you think grey hair can reach a state of health to be like "heavy"?
