Great video! Your way of explaining the steps makes painting so accessible, even for beginners. The colors, waves, and atmosphere you create are incredible, and the music adds a calming touch. Thank you for this inspiring tutorial! 🌊✨ I subscribed so I don't miss out on your next creations! 🎨😊
For everyone who struggles with this one, my tip is to take your time, even if it means not being done in one go. If you (for example) didn't get the desired result when mixing colors, don't just go with it, mix again. Same with water/sky details, try to watch a few minutes in advance, then rewatch while painting. Pause as much as you need to. Even for the creator it took more than 30 minutes since the video is mostly sped up. It took me good two hours, but the result is stunning. All you need is a bit of patience. ✨
Love your channel! A little suggestion, it would be really helpful if you could have the reference photo always present in one corner, and talk through what you see in the photo, and how that led to your decisions on what colors to use to mix certain colors.❤
I sat down and followed thru the entire tutorial snd it helped me a lot!! im pretty satisfied with my own attempt all thanks to how you explained it nicely!! specially the colours I have always had trouble mixing colours but u made it so simple. thanks a ton!!!!!
I always get upset when my result doesn't look like a reference photo. It is very simplistic, not nearly as detailed, and the colors don't really blend together the way they should. Your video shows that one must do a lot of thinking and mixing all the way through the process of painting. Such hard work
Agree. I have gouache just for 4 days ago and I try to make a simple paint. But, i’m struggle with blending colors and why my colors dont look “pop up”. Make me confuse 😣
When painting also need a brain to think what colours to mix up. I thought i can relax by painting but maybe i expecting the result to be good so much that i become stressful 😢😂
Well maybe you should start with the basic. She is a pro at what she does, and just because this can be a tutorial doesnt mean we can actually follow the way she paints. It IS a hard work if you force to paint something as difficult as this.. try blending colours, try painting clouds and the sky.. then go from there
This is the first time that I'm writing a comment for an artist and my first time to use gouache as well.😅 Your art is awesome. 🥰🥰I enjoyed and learned a lot from your video. Keep up the good work!
Loved the tutorial! i’ve wanted to paint water for years now and finally tried it by following this tutorial. I’m really happy with how it turned out. One piece of feedback: it would be awesome to keep the reference photo up on the screen, even if it’s a little small, throughout the video. Thanks for all your tips & tricks!
Imagine being beautiful and working hard at the same time, you're living truly the best life! I'm jealous, but keep growing, And YOUR ART, I lost the words, Its just the best thing, I imagine being on a beach and painting this in real life, and adding the imaginations and edit everything you see while smelling the fresh seawater as the sand on the ground brushes against your feet and make it really annoying to walk, while talkin to you're best friend and enjoying the most wonderful and a pinking sunset as i descends closer and closer to the ocean, and the ocean eats it alive, the flock of birds go on an adventure to pursue it. The sunset blends the pink and bluish tone as the moon arises from the dark, blue ocean waving goodbye to its beloved sun.
For me, this tutorial is very understandable, and it is simple. I am a beginner in gouache, and I can see how you add layers, without altering the others. I have a lot of problem with a gouache set that I bought to practice, it dries on the palette in a matter of seconds and they are not opaque. I'm making some oranges, at first I started with a light color, and I added layers, but I noticed that I couldn't get the beautiful, bright yellow color anymore, even with the white color. The whole process, at first, I did it as a watercolor technique, and then I tried adding less water to the second layer, it worked two or three times, once I had to activate the gouache, the layer below was altered. It is very frustrating when you can't achieve your intention and goals. Thanks for these tutorials!😊❤❤❤
Tysm for the tutorial! It was very helpful, even tho mine doesn't look as realistic and pretty as yours I'm still very happy with the result! Since I'm still a beginner with guache ☺️💗
Lovely work! 😍 Thank you for sharing your process with us, and tips for making it easier such as changing the view of your image to B&W for instance. May I ask what palette you are using? I checked your link and I don’t see it on that site. If it’s really not there, might you know of another site that sells them?
I love how this is turning out, but would you please explain your messy palette and how you keep everything moist it looks like everything is dried up and crunchy? I am a newbie and I have Himi gouache. Can I still do what you’re doing?
Yes you definitely can still do this with Himi gouache. One thing to note is that Himi gouache is a bit harder to reactivate after it dried on your palette. So in that case, you just need to grab some new paints instead of keep re-using the old ones like I did. But other than that, everything else can be applied be the same way. 😊
Thank you for such amazing tutorials. I have watched this method of painting waves so many times but mine always end up looking unfinished. Any added tips? I think i get lost somewhere inbetwee adding the slightly lighter layer under the initial peaks and then the initial highlight on top. Maybe just need to add more waves?
Actually now that I'm looking at it more closely I think maybe it's that my color mixing is off. Like the base color I put down is too blue? Any tips or practice for mixing colors would be appreciated! It's one of my greatest weeknesses!
Oh god! After I painted the upper half I noticed that I painted at the bottom of the paper 😅 no place for the sea, anyways you're super talented thanks 🌷
Hi Ogygia! What a cute kitty cat painting assistant (who is in charge of tearing paper :) Your seascape in gouache is stunning. I love how you handled your sky, and had the sky reflections in your water as well. Ogygia I am hoping you will participate in the Favorite Bird Art Challenge I am hosting. You would be a great addition to the group! Take care!
I know you are using a reference photo, so I’m kinda perplexed that the water doesn’t reflect the sunset almost all the way back… at least a little. That’s weird. I live at the east coast and I’ve never seen the colors just in the middle… unless there are a lot of dark cloud cover at the horizon that’s so dark that covers the sun completely, I mean clouds at the horizon all the way up to the pink with no yellow. I would think the pink reflection would be a little closer to the horizon and there would be a small reflection of yellowish closest to the horizon … but I know you’re following the reference though
Jesus loves you all so much He came from Heaven to this earth and died a very very painful death for our sins. BUT He rose 3 days later so you and I wouldn't have to go to hell, and so we could have a relationship with GOD, the Father. All we have to do to accept salvation is confess that Jesus is LORD and believe that GOD raised Him from the dead. May GOD lead you.
Seriously? We sat through almost 40 minutes of you dabbling out that painting and you could not even bother to let us see the finished painting without the taped border with over painted paint strokes on it? What were you thinking? Did you actually think we watched you paint that very tedious painting for over half an hour and we did not want to see the finished painting? Very disappointing.

Beautiful work and it is so useful that you let we see how you mix the color. That is rare
Enjoyed doing this painting. It was easy to follow and you do a great job showing and explaining what you are doing. Thanks!

Also, practice on details with less colors. Like, a single cloud in on color and the sky in one color.
You make the paint look simple and easy. When I try to painting It’s so fussy 😂 Next time can you teach how to painting characters. Thanks you
This process took my breath away! Thank you for sharing.
You're an awesome teacher! Love how easily you break things down❤ Thank you so much😊
Watching gouache tutorials without having gouache set :))
Same here. I was wondering how to apply these techniques to watercolor.
Thank you so much for sharing this! I recently bought a set of himi goache and I can’t wait to try it on on this painting
I'm absolutely obsessed with your videos!!

WHYYYYYYYY - didn’t you pull off the tape? 😭 great video though
I cant handle the music
babe love the tutorial but please that palette is begging to be saved .
That repetitive music is extremely annoying
This is very hard for a beginner... stop lying
