Thank you for describing the paints as "orangey red" etc instead of the actual name of a certain brand. So many times when I watch tutorials like these, I feel limited to do much of anything because I don't have that exact color. Thank you ❤
I swear mesmerising doesn't suffice as an adjective....your soft soft layering and the way the shapes just *materialise* before my eyes like water clearing and revealing a smooth layered rock
I'm so excited to try your tutorial. This is going to be my FIRST EVER gouache experience and I have to say, I literally do not have any idea what to expect. It's been described to me as many different consistencies; all I know is, I'm in. Looking forward to the peppers!! Thank you for making this look so fun, easy, and informal.
Hi, I’m just starting my gouache journey; I followed along with this tutorial and am so happy with the results! The whole time I painted these, it felt like I was over at a friend’s house who’s teaching me how to paint with gouache💕 very easy to understand and follow along, thank you! 😊
I am so happy that I finally found out a channel which is sharing from very basic and explained in the way that is really easy to understand. I will keep learning from you. Thank you for sharing and for all of your time ❤
This was exactly what I needed. I recently picked up the same gouache and since starting to paint, I couldn't figure out why some things looked flat ! This definitely helped me !
I love listening to your voice, and thank you for showing your work process, you make it look so easy, I will definitely give it a try, keep up the good work, and please keep sharing, I can watch it for hours!!!! ❤️
I really love this video Sofia!! It's the morning here in Quebec City and I'm about to whipp out my guache to paint some peppers...🙂..lol. I too LOVE colour , in fact so much that I forget to practice just doing plain ink sketches because I need that practice too - as I'm new to art (started drawing and this past January). Keep making vieos like these please!!
Thank you for sharing your gift. You really are a pleasure to watch and these videos have been very helpful, I made an attempt on the marker portrait one and blew my own mind with how nice it actually looked! Lol so thank you! 💜
I just told her that I'm about to paint some peppers..lol..Don't you love that little burst of inspiration that makes drop anything you were GOING to do and just paint? 🙂Love It!!
Thank you! I always wanted a tutorial from you 😊 I'm so happy rn! I have the himi set ,so I'm definitely going to try this 😊 if possible please make more tutorials!( Would be happy if you use himi gouache more often for such tutorials 😅)
This is so helpful to use when painting, but could you maybe do a video on mixing it and how you get the color you like and the consistency? Like I felt like when I tried to replicate this or attempt to, it was a lot more watery and blended together too much. :( I love your style of painting!
hi!! i love your videos! do you recommend those paints? currently i use holbein but i’ve been seeing that himi brand everywhere. they’re so inexpensive, i have been doubting that they’re good. what is your opinion vs windsor and newton or holbein? love your work! thank you!😊
Just found your channel and am loving of, most helpful videos I’ve found with gouache! I’m having a problem with not achieving the creamy, vibrant colours from my paints. I have the same palette, but think it’s down to not understanding water levels & being impatient with waiting to dry, it takes so long!!. I also have cheaper brushes and sketch book, does that make a difference?
So glad they’re helpful 🥰 it sounds like you may be diluting the paint with too much water, to keep the vibrancy of the color you want to make sure it is not too diluted. My first layer is more like a melted butter consistency and then the layers on top of that are much less diluted so the paint is kind of firmer… I hope that makes sense- I’ll make a vid on it!
Heya!! I was curious on how you refill your paints? I am after 3 days already almost out of white and really need a new one. However I cannot find any website where I could buy the individual cups :(
Hi! I've gotten pouches from the same paint brand in the past, they aren't individual cups but you can refill the empty cup with the pouch several times... not sure if they still do them!
Sofia...do you sell gouache painting? Do you sell any other medium painting? I'm asking basically to know why we all ( including me) spend so much time on gouache which is least saleable! I know just for fun. But someday you want use all these skills to create oils or acrylics I suppose
Thank you for describing the paints as "orangey red" etc instead of the actual name of a certain brand. So many times when I watch tutorials like these, I feel limited to do much of anything because I don't have that exact color. Thank you ❤

So great. Thank you Sofia! For the most part, it looks like you don't tone down colors, but instead use them at full strength?

Do we always have to make the gouache paint wet before we start to paint.
