Erwin Marionneaux I have the canon M5 Rn and wanna make the switch to Sony after I seen your video! Especially with that 16mm for portraits! What you think?
U are the reason, why i got my first camera (Sony a6300) and the sigma 30mm 1.4, Finally i got my second lens which is the sigma 16mm 1.4 and i love it! Thank you very much for your content! Hope to see new sony apsc videos from you!
I’ve been thinking of 16 mm on my 6400 because of focal length I don’t want to be far from subject. So thanks for this video as I can see how far you are from model
Hey man! Loved the photos! I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I think it would be really cool to see a side by side of the photos before and after editing! Keep it up!
Hello my friend, congratulations on your great content. Would you recommend the sigma 16mm for landscape shots? Sharpness is very important to me. Thank you greetings
Hey man question! It seems like to shoot nice portraits you just got pretty close to your subject. Would there be any advantage of going with a 35mm lens for a shoot like this? New to all of this so it'd be very appreciated if you could explain a little bit! Thanks!
Hey! I got really close with these shots because the 16mm lens is a pretty wide angled lens. If I were using a 35mm, I would be able to get further back but I'd also loose the distortion that the 16mm has which is what I wanted with these shots
They are distorted! Pretty heavily in some shots, but the trick is to make it work in your favor. Distortion doesn’t have to mean bad, and since this is a real world shoot instead of a “distortion test” you can see how it can be used to your benefit.
Super dope video! I learned a lot from this!! for the future I would suggest you including the manual settings next to the sample photos. specially iso and shutter speed
Thank you! All the videos posted after this include them. I know for sure the aperture was f1.4 and iso was 100 for each shot, the only thing adjusted during the shoot was the shutter speed.
Wow, you have great eyes and skills man.. I've been ignoring this lens for portraits as well, will give it a try though. Love your edits, wonder if you could do a tutorial for this. Keep crushing the contents!
Hey man! Amazing video! Wanna ask 1 question. I have an a6000 and a sigma 30mm. What should I buy next for street and fastion photography for instagram? 16 or 56mm sigma? What do you recommend? Thank you so much
I have the same set up never thought of using the 16mm for this kind of shoot Thanks I’m a new sub Love the colour grading in your pics do you have a vid on how to tweak your raw from start to end pic?
I have this lens on a6500 and had no idea it was capable of these shots. Thank you man I will now try to get the best out of this lens. Thumbs up on the video for sure
I was hesitant for months now... your review and few of my brothers videos sold me... I bought it. I only have a A6000 so hopefully my resukts will be Great :) Thanks For this Video ! Amazing Job
Hi Erwin. Can you upload next time the pictures with the basic settings? ( F, speed, ISO). Such an inspiration to take pictures with the 16mm lens. Also, 4.30 hahaha
Sure! The only thing that ever usually changes is shutter speed. I pretty much always shoot portraits wide open and at iso 100. I just adjust the shutter speed to set my exposure basically
You are simply amazing. I was looking forward to buy this lens for my a6300 but I had doubts, with this video you just convinced me tomorrow morning I'm going to buy me a Sigma 16mm 😊 What kind of Lightroom preset are you using and your portraits are so smoothly and colourful?
This lens is really earning its time on my camera lol, and to think I used to ignore it for portraits until I gave it a shot!
Fantastic images man!
Do I need a mount for the sigma? Or does it just mount to the Sony a6300
It just mounts to the camera
Erwin Marionneaux I have the canon M5 Rn and wanna make the switch to Sony after I seen your video! Especially with that 16mm for portraits! What you think?
I think it would be an upgrade! The Sony has more features and a better lens selection. You’re really limited on lenses with the m50
Best review format ever. Having the behind the scene guy is perfect so you actually see the subject distance of every shot. Well done.
I agree, I've been trying to find these things out and practically no one covers it
true..i typed and search this : "16mm sigma 1.4 portrait behind scene" ..and found this vid..thank god..
exactly!
U are the reason, why i got my first camera (Sony a6300) and the sigma 30mm 1.4, Finally i got my second lens which is the sigma 16mm 1.4 and i love it! Thank you very much for your content! Hope to see new sony apsc videos from you!
This guy has a great eye on shots damn
I appreciate that!
I will never understand how someone can be this good at photography.
Wow ! Extra credits to the model for climbing that three. Excelent video
*three*
You're phenomenal at posing man. The lady is dope too.
You got some great shots without flash man.
Thanks! I pretty much never use flash for outdoor shoots. She did a really great job!
Flash is not used in photography dumbass
LAND MINE e.e
I’ve been thinking of 16 mm on my 6400 because of focal length I don’t want to be far from subject. So thanks for this video as I can see how far you are from model
Great job. You pulled some good looks with that lens!
Thanks man!
I love how you demonstrate and straight up show the lens in action, show the edited version, and how it works with APS-C. Thanks a bunch!
Never knew I could use the 16mm for portraits and not just for vlogging!! thanks for doing this video man!!
No problem!
Yooo they climbed the tree together. This is some next level shootin haha
😂 gotta do what ya gotta do!
U a bad boy with that lense. U know how to shoot in the open sun. That's talent😎
Great shots man. I wouldn't have thought of a 16mm as a portrait lens but you definitely made it work. Looking forward to more from you
This was super useful because we can actually see how close you are getting to the subject, thank you!
I’m purchasing this bad boy now!
The sigma 16mm is tricky for portraits. Great job
I love the yellow part 💕 colour and texture and the Bokeh
When you are a professional with a gorgeous model, you will have beautiful shots even with 16mm... Awesome work mate!
Sigma 16mm 1.4 one of the best primes out there
@@itzpookiie you say "even with" as if it's a bad choice for portraits...
I just now discovered this channel! Great photo shoot!
Didn’t realize you were in BR until I saw the French Truck store. Pretty cool. Great work!

@4:26 had me screaming "sign a waiver firsssst". Lordyyyy
Hey man! Loved the photos!
I know I'm a bit late to the party, but I think it would be really cool to see a side by side of the photos before and after editing!
Keep it up!
Thank you! I’ve been getting some requests to do that so I’ll see how it goes for the next one!
Lovely shots and framing. Good artist shooter and nice lens to help.
Great video dude! I also have the 16mm lens but for my a6500. You have a great eye for portrait shots. Keep up the great work!!

Really good review format, great job man!
Wow you is talented. I am trying to decide if I should get the 16mm or 18-105 for my a6300 for mostly video (on gimbal)
I would go for the 18-105mm. It would be much more useful for video
Wow really great shots. Still a good camera and still a good lens to this day
Hello my friend, congratulations on your great content. Would you recommend the sigma 16mm for landscape shots? Sharpness is very important to me. Thank you greetings

@@erwinmarionneaux Thanks for the reply! So even if you cropped a picture you took with the 16mm to say an 8:10, it would still have distortion?
Those photos are bombbbb. Love it bro!
Great work
I just bought this lens along with the 85mm for my A7iii, Can't wait to use it!
Graphite I know , i use it for videos ... it’s actually not that bad.
Why aren't any of these distorted? They look so good! I thought smaller mm meant weirder images if shot up close.
They are distorted! Pretty heavily in some shots, but the trick is to make it work in your favor. Distortion doesn’t have to mean bad, and since this is a real world shoot instead of a “distortion test” you can see how it can be used to your benefit.

I appreciate it! I just about always shoot at f1.4 iso100 and whatever shutter speed it takes to get the right exposure
@@erwinmarionneauxmy dude they are wondering in depth what camera settings not the ISO
@@janekbeglarjan there are no camera settings. When you shoot raw, nothing you change in the camera apply. That’s only for JPEG
