Yeah, but most people don't see it because they go to a big carrier and they just buy what they are told is good. Sad. Then they get used to it. When they can't even afford it. Reality is these budget and mid range phones are great
@@AndroidDigest Reality yes! Especially from Samsung's A line of budget phones. I own an A25, and it is spectacular and can record 4K video. Best phone I ever owned. But I still use my PC computers for internet.
@@AndroidDigest Thats bull bro people convince themself they need the S24 Ultra. I work at a big carrier cant convince them its enough based their needs 😂😂
Honestly the only complaints I jave about this phone is the presence of the notch. But considering the specs and inclusion of a 3.5mm port, I can live with it
I just bought the A25 8GB/256GB. I've owned high end Samsung phones before this one, and I can say that the A25 is that great, that I'm not gonna buy a high end phones in the future. It does everything that I need sufficently fast and with a fine result. I can definitely recommend it.
@@andrewnichols1240 Every phone nowadays has Bluetooth that it became unnecessary to mention it, it's like him confirming that the phone can do calls.
An SD card slot and a 3.5 jack is almost a must in a phone for me. I could drop the SD card slot, but the jack is a must. I will not use an adapter or a wireless headphone.
got it for $130 through local carrier I think it's absurd that people pay $800+ for a phone for gaming and photos... if you wanna play games, get a PC/Laptop If you wanna take pictures, a $100 digital camera will be better than any phone camera
Yeah absolutely if your hobby is taking pictures buy DSLR camera instead of using smart phone. I don't understand why some people buy more expensive phone just to take pictures. for me I'll for for this one it's more cheap and convenient for my budget A25 5g is good for me, I never exchange the earphone jack from other A series don't have earphone jack. it's more useful if they have earphone jack.
I came from a s23 Ultra to the a25 5g and besides the s pen I couldn't see much difference. I never used the s23 to its full potential and it was a quarter of the price!
That's pretty impressive. The a35 5G is even faster. So it sounds like anything the a25 up is going to be enjoyable for you. And now Samsung is providing updates on all of those things. So no more crazy contracts will be needed for you to get a good deal on a phone now. I wish more people would get what they need rather than paying a ton of extra money for things they won't use
I just bought one today. Absolutely content with it. Years ago, I used to get the flagship phone because it actually made a big difference. These days, most of the phones are good enough. I don't want to spend $1500 on a phone just to drop and smash it and start crying. Also I want a 3.5mm jack and this has it when most phones don't. I honestly don't understand why people insist on spending so much on a phone anymore.
I was a Xiaomi user for 9 years. But over the last year or two, local vendors in South Africa have inflated prices to the point where Samsung now offers more performance for the price. Switched to the A25, and what a difference from my old redmi 9t. One UI is fantastic
This is my first smartphone! Thank you for the great information. It made me feel better about my purchase. I had only had a tiny 5 year old flip phone for emergencies. I will definitely be checking out your other videos.
This is definitely a good first smartphone for sure. If you ever have questions let me know, or if you ever need to be walked through some stuff. If you're younger and this is your first phone, a very good phone for you. If you're older and you're just getting into smartphones for the first time, if anything is ever too complicated Don't hesitate to ask some people you know to walk through some stuff. I've always thought about finding a way to offer one-on-one smartphone classes or something. If you ever need a lesson maybe we could work something out. My email is zach@androiddigest.com . If you're younger you can disregard obviously. Feel free to leave any questions in my comments too. I try to respond to most new comments. Sometimes I miss extra comments in these little comment threads, But if you leave a brand new comment in any of my videos I should catch most of them
I just got this phone for $99.99. I love it, my last phone was a Motorola... Moto g Stylus 5G. I will never buy another Motorola phone again for the rest of my life. It's like night & day, I haven't had a single problem with it & I've been using it constantly setting everything up, figuring out where everything is. $100 well spent. The camera is way better than I thought it would be. The 4K videos I've shot so far looked fvcking beautiful. This phone is dope as Hell for what it is. -
Pretty incredible for $99. A lot of people would buy it just for a backup phone at that price. But it's nice for an every day phone too. It's good when you don't spend $1,000 on a phone, you can actually put it towards your budget, that money, and enjoy your life
I genuinely want to know what people need to do on a $1200 phone...I use a 'budget' phone as a executive, to run a business, to take pictures. What does a $1200 phone actually do so amazing?...most people are clueless about tech and what they actually need.
maybe the cameras? if we're really interested in that sort of things... and watching Netflix, TH-cam, etc with good quality. But then you can get that for a lot less with more reasonable prices.
You are absolutely right and I used to be like you until a few years ago when I was able to snag the 22 ultra for like 800 bucks. I used to go from company to company to get free phones and noticed all of my phones usually started acting trippy and buggy after 8 months or so. Those expensive phones give you a good 2+ years without any problems. I don't look to upgrade until this phone goes down.
I know this video is 4 months old but man... I just love this channel so much, it's really so refreshing to finally see a person that reviews tech FOR EVERYBODY, not just for people willing to spend $1000 on a phone. I truly believe that nowadays the A series is amazing, and it is enough for majority of people. Here in Poland right now, the A35 costs around $250 after discounts, while the S24 costs $1000, it's 4 times more, it's insane. And the A35 is still a really good device that will handle daily tasks, not to mention it has a slot for an SD card while the S24 does not. I really cannot understand why some people prefer to spend so much more money on a phone, sure, it will be faster, the apps will open faster, they will perform faster, but it's actually not so important in my opinion. So yeah, thank you man, your reviews are my favorites!
I just purchased this phone to replace my Galaxy S20+ (currently on life support), $250 for unlocked version. I did monthly payments through Affirm $20 a month interest free. Can't wait!
Man. I'm not sure what you will think. It's about expectations, and you are coming from an S20+, so yeah, it's a downgrade, but for the money, it's a lot cheaper than upgrading to a S24 plus.
Got this as my first Samsung phone. So far I am pleased, but I was surprised that it didn't come with a proper charger, also I don't think it came with any kind of pre-installed screen protector, either. So I had to to be really careful not to damage the screen for a couple of days, until a screen protector finally arrived.
That's actually a pretty normal thing nowadays though. Sadly. But it is. Once Apple introduced not putting a charger in the box like 5 years ago, I think Samsung followed about 3 years ago. But they only followed for their high-end phones. Eventually Samsung and almost every other manufacturer, they followed suit even on budget phones. But that's been within the last couple of years
Great review this phone is more than enough for my mother who is learning how to use a smartphone and I just want to make sure that the phone is reliable and not just for show…very honest review thanks 🙏 😊
I just ordered this phone for $179.00. It has a lot of bad reviews from people who previously had a $1000+ phone. I still ordered it, as you cannot really compare $1000+ phones with the A25. I believe I'll be happy with the A25, especially at the price I paid....Also, I'm not a person who would spend $1000+ on a phone. The A25 will be replacing my current Samsung 10e that has reached the end of its life.
I have an a54 5h 256gb and its a awsome phone. Samsung came a long way when it comes to mid range phones. Even the a14 with 4gb of ram performs well. So the a15, a25, a35 or a55 phones are very good as well. Im going to get an a25 256gb to use at work so i dont break the a54 and i think its the way to go.
I have been using Samsung Smartphones for a few years now, starting with the A42 5G in 2020. Seems like the Samsung "A" Series I am pleased to see better phone and camera performances overall. May not be as good as their "S" Series smartphones, but for me, just fine. I currently use a Samsung A55 and S20 PLUS for both of my phone numbers. These "A" series Samsung phones are good enough for me and priced better compared to Samsung's "S" Series or similar rival smartphones either. I may not take as good photos as higher ended Samsung, Apple or other smartphones, but good enough for me for social media or personal photo albums. Good video.
Thank you very much for your input👍👍!!! I was already sold, given my research before my purchase. However, your awesome detailed video review gave the complete confidence with my purchase for this A25 5g model. That said, I not only gave you thumbs, but also subscribed to your channel, as feel that you earned it. Again, awesome work with providing a detailed review for this smart phone 😊!!!
Well thank you, a very kind comment, feel free to leave comments any time if you have questions, I try to cover the A series devices, a lot of Galaxy tablets, and a lot of mid-range phones, some foldables, I try to mix it up. Appreciate your support though. I'm just a smaller channel trying to help people, so it means a lot.
Good review. I'm considering this phone here in the Philippines. I already have a S24+ on a TMO contact, so I can't use a local SIM until it's paid off. I really like Samsung phones and this phone has a decent price. I'm very familiar with Samsung as I have a number of their phones and tablets. Does this phone accommodate 2 physical sims + SD or one esim? Thanks
I agree with you. Don't let the hype that surrounds kids mess with you. The A15 is great. Also. Set up a Google family link account, and set them up a gmail, with you as the parent account. You can set what times they can use it, restrictions, you could even force them to ask you to download every single app. And you can control how long they use each app. Even if you don't want every restriction, even if you want to say very few, at least you will be able to lock the phone at any given time. But yeah. The A15 would be great. Especially for a first phone. You can upgrade them at 13 or 14
I absolutely love this (plastic back) design. It gives me so much nostalgia. The back design - especially in light blue - reminds me very much of the Y2K-early 2000s era plastic designs.
Thanks for the review...am going in town today to buy one for my Wife...going through many people's comments more especially these who have used it before they have recommended A25 5G as good gadget. 👍
I just ordered, and received!, this phone this morning using your Amazon link. My Pixel 6Ascreen cracked and needed a new phone. Thanks for the thorough review mate!
I used Redmi Note 7 for years and, safe to say, I'm more than satisfied. But, 5 years old phone is still 5 years old phone. It shows it's age. I bought A25 5G 8/256 and, needless to say, I'm more than satisfied right now. It's a great phone to replace my aging Redmi Note 7. Even better, it works really well with dongles (I use EPZ TP20 alongside 4.4mm plug-equipped Moondrop Aria 2021). Huge win I'd say. My only wish is for Xiaomi or Huawei to follow Moondrop MIAD-01's concept; bringing phones with 3.5mm + 4.4mm jack, probably with Cirrus Logic chip or whatever. If dual headphone jack becomes mainstream, the price will drop eventually and then we can have the antithesis of Apple's jackless design.
Well if you ever have any comparisons you need to make or if you're not sure on something to do, feel free to ask in my comments. I'm pretty responsive. As long as you start a new comment because I don't always read the 2nd or 3rd in a thread. But happy to help you in your particular situation any time
Let me know if you enjoy it! I try to keep things balanced. I know some higher end users use phones like this and they hate them. But this phone is an absolute dream to others. I try to make it fair
Recently got this phone and i'm impressed and yes it has a headphone jack unlike 800 dollar phones! why take the headphone jack way. Screen is good too so is the speakers.
That's a great video you've put out and I was meaning to get this phone to replace an old phone I have that's having major charging issue due to it's charging port but decided to hold out for the upcoming Samsung A35/55 which is speculated to be better. Do you think I should?
The one upgrade you're going to get is power. And maybe a couple of extras, like water resistance or something. The a35 has the same processor as the A54, which is on sale at Best Buy for $375. I actually got one open box for $300 today at Best buy. And the A55 will be a step up from both of those. But price is the key. Assuming they come to the US (I heard they will announce the phones on the 11th. But it may take awhile to get to the US), it's $264 for the A25. It is $375 for the A54. It's $400 (probably) for the A35 and it would be $500 for the A55 (again, just a guess). It's all about your budget. And your expectations. Do you need water resistance? And what type of processing power do you need? The A25 can be pretty fast. On rare occasion it will have a bit of a lag moment. But it can be gone through pretty quickly. The A54 and 35 should be a lot better for that. The screens will be pretty similar overall. It's mainly just about getting a little bit of a performance bump. If you're coming from a $100 phone or a worse phone, you just have to ask yourself how much money you're willing to spend. And you have to ask yourself how important water resistances, and also a little extra power. If you need those things, you could always get an a54 today, even an open box excellent condition for like $300. Or new for $375. Or just wait and get an a35 and probably get something that's basically the same thing. For $400. It's really all about what you're willing to spend. And also, if you're with a prepaid, look for deals on them. Obviously if the prices are different than when I said, that may tip the scales a little bit
@@AndroidDigest Thanks a lot for taking the time to explain blow-by-blow aspects of these phones but the other obvious thing which made me skip the A25 was it's got just 128 GB under it's hood from Amazon UK(where I do all my purchasing) though they have 256 GB in the Middle East and other regions but these phones the A35& A55 will both have 256 GB for the European region as well and 128 GB to upgrade from what I have been using doesn't make all that sense to me as opposed to double capacity plus going by indicators better voice quality and processor.
I hear you. To me it does have the SD card, I know you might not be able to put everything on there, but I think having the slot helps with lower storage. But I get why you would skip it.
The a35 and a55 if I'm not mistaken offer eSim which both the a15, a25 don't offer. The a35 and a55 don't have the built-in usual Fm radio app (purple square with the white radio inside the 'Samsung' folder) due to the abscence of the headphone jack on both a35, a55 as the headphone headset wire serves as the antennae, just something to consider while these cheaper a15 and a25 do have built-in FM radio as they both have headphone ports.
Get the the A34 5G . Same thing , much cheaper and only loosing 1 of the 5 years of security up dates and 1 of the 4 years of OS updates. Most people will be on to another phone in 4 years .
I've been using the phone for a week, everything is fine, except for one thing - it gets very hot. I don't play games. It heats up from the camera, Instagram, TH-cam, Google Chrome, etc. Moreover, not only the back side, but also the screen heats up quite a bit, although I don’t use the maximum brightness. I already bought the original cover, but it is still very warm even through the cover. Is this a problem with the exynos1280 processor? Nobody really talks about this anywhere. Am I the only one having this problem?
You may want to try doing a factory reset and seeing if that helps at all. I've seen some people talking about the heat, that's just not really something I experienced. I used it in a lot of the same ways as you. It might get a little warm when gaming or if you're using it when it's charging or something, I have seen some people say that. But I haven't had extreme heat issues. But a few people in the comments have, it could either be a soft or bug or something else I'm missing
Thank you for covering these budget phones. I have read reviews and opinions seem very mixed on the overall performance of the A25 5g. One on Samsung’s website said they immediately had to trade it on something else because the phone was unusable. Is it really THAT bad?
Not at all. It all depends on what you're used to of course. But I think it's pretty reasonable. You could look at my performance in the video to see for yourself. Most of the time I'm showing footage of me using apps that are already opened previously. But yeah, if you open up a new app you might have to wait a second or two. It's not bad at all. It also depends on what you're used to. What phones have you used in the past? If you let me know when a separate comment, not attached to this, I'm more likely to reply (I often filter by comments I haven't replied to). But I'll be happy to compare this to phones you've had to give you an idea.
@@AndroidDigeston the Android side of things, I’ve used the Samsung S21 FE, a few Motorola phones(G Power 2020 and Edge Plus 23), and 3 Pixels(5a,6, & 6a). Of course, any phone will have to reload apps or open them and load that first time. I’ve also used many iPhones but of course, that’s a totally different experience. I’m kinda thinking of getting a good Android phone as either a backup to my iPhone or maybe even a replacement eventually. I did notice that performance in the video was solid and not at all bad as some have said. Thank you for replying!
@Roadrunner_1000 thanks for replying! I am currently using an iPhone 13 myself and kinda bored with iOS and considering all Android options as a replacement. To be honest, even budget androids like the A15 or A25 5g I believe would beat iPhones in a few areas. It’s nice to hear from actual users that the A25 is such a great device.
That looks like a pretty good deal. I snagged a Pixel 6a on a Black Friday sale last year for around $100 but my wife is playing around with the camera on it and i may not be getting it back lol I wouldn’t mind something like this
Yeah there are pros and cons to both phones. The pixel is a little bit faster. with better cameras. The Galaxy has an sd card slot, headphone jack, a better battery, and refresh rate. It depends on what's more important to you
@@AndroidDigest yeah the Tensor is quite a bit faster than the Exynos 1280 but I used a Galaxy A42 5g for 3 years with the Snapdragon 750g and it worked well for me. That 1280 looks pretty comparable to the 750g on paper at least and the screen on the A25 is way better than the 720p 60hz screen that was on my A42 and I do like that headphone jack and SD card support.
i’m hunting for a non-apple, non-google phone, comparable to the 2020 iphone SE. this has been suggested as a decent replacement, but i don’t have the technical knowledge to actually compare; would switching to this be comparable?
It's really really hard to compare. But I'd say it's pretty close. iPhones from years ago are still slightly faster than some Android phones even from today. So this should have a better screen. A higher refresh rate. In some ways it will feel smoother. Probably similar cameras. So I'd say it may be comparable. Better battery life in the a25.
Enjoyed the review! I'm curious, I currently have the A23 and I love the headphone jack on it. It's extremely capable of powering all my wired headphones. I had the A14 and it didn't power any of my headphones well, much lower volume than my A23 and poorer quality sound imo. Is the A25 on par with the A23 in terms of being able to drive headphones well?
Thank you so much for the comment, it means a ton. Unfortunately, just keeping it real, that's one test I didn't really do. And don't have the time to test that unfortunately, with a busy review schedule. Most phones around this price should have similar quality headphone jacks though, so I'm unsure why you had a different experience on the A14. I'm guessing it will be closer to the A23 experience for you, but obviously can't guarantee it. I recommend buying from somewhere you can return it easily. Just in case you need to. Links in the description, Samsung is great with returns fyi if you buy through them online. If you start a return within 14 days they give you an extra 14 days to return after, so like 28 days to return total as long as you start within the 14 days.
I appreciate your response. I understand, that is something probably a lot of people wouldn't check. I was just curious. Surprisingly, phones and tablets in the 200-300 dollar range vary greatly in terms of headphone jack performance. I feel the build quality of the A14 in general was poor. The speaker was kinda low and strange sounding and using a headphone amp caused interference, unless data was turned off. But yes, I'm guessing the A25 will be similar to the A23 in terms of sound quality. Again, thanks for the reply and the detailed review.
There is one thing you haven't mentioned: Samsung updates policy. Having a 5-year security maintenance is awesome on a phone like this. I think it's going to be my mom's new device 😃
just bought my first samsung, the a25 5g, while i think that the phone is quite good, however, had i known that samsung have removed band selection ,i would have bought another make.cheers.
Je me suis abonné à votre chaîne bien évidemment 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻@@AndroidDigest
It depends. You will get slightly better hadrware on the tecno spark. But I personally haven't even heard of that phone, I will admit. I try to stick to US phones. So I'm guessing, just guessing, a company like that is typically slower with software updates, or they don't do as many. You will have to keep things like software in mind. Slightly better hardware, but at a cost. So it's a toss up. I'd go with the Samsung personally, but for those who like tecno it is slightly better for the money, hardware wise.
Exactly. Same processor. It's really good to see that those processors are living on at a cheaper price every year. So we're getting better and better phones in the a series. I think it does get updates for longer. Not only have they made longer update promises, but it's also a newer phone
@@AndroidDigest It's nice Samsung is giving even their entry level phones 5 years of software. I'm currently on an A53 and it gets up to android 16 and presumably the a25 gets up to android 17. So I feel by then the A25 is going to run like dog crap on A17. I guess that's a sort of win win for samsung and consumers. Consumers get a long support life and samsung gets to push software that might be too much for an old phone to handle and thus push users onto upgrades.
You're going to get slightly better performance out of the Motorola. You will get a better screen out of the Galaxy. I lean towards the Galaxy though because the a25 actually had pretty decent shots on the camera in my opinion. But I think the big differentiator is going to be updates. I think you could go either way honestly, but the one thing that really draws me to the Galaxy is the software updates. Even with the a series lineup Samsung has been providing a lot more updates and a lot more timely updates. Motorola with their budget. Phones only gives one big operating system update and normally they delay it almost a full year or more. Samsung has been much quicker and I normally give at least an extra year of operating system updates, like 2 years at least, plus more security patches too. That makes me lean towards Samsung. And I'm comparing to the 2024 G Power. I haven't tested that yet, just going off specs
My A25 battery drains so much quicker than A21, mind you i got the A21 in 2021 and its still in excellent condition, and i got the A25 about 2 weeks ago and its already giving me battery and overheating problem
I mean, it will drain a little quicker. That A21 had a far worse screen with a far worse refresh rate and a less powerful processor. I would definitely expect the battery to drain quicker. But compared to a lot of other phones out there this phone will still be significantly better with battery life compared to them
@@AndroidDigest I wonder if there's a software issue, I've seen reviews of other Samsung phones where there was an option to change the refresh rate, but I wonder if there's an issue with battery optimization that's causing the drain issue.
@@AndroidDigest turns out that my issue was the charger, I bought a charger head because the phone only came with a C type - C type(these new chargers) and the one I was using that week was a fast charging charger which was not good, I then switched to a different "normal" charger head but with the same C type - C type cable and then battery didn't drain as much
Thank you so much for the review. I was initially going to stay with Motorola. I currently have a Moto G Stylus 5G (2022) but the screen is cracked. For what they want to fix it I'm better off getting a new phone. I did find this phone that you reviewed at a Micro Center store for under $250. I was initially looking for a Moto G Power phone but it seems to be popular, especially the 256GB version from 2023. I think I'll sacrifice storage for now for the price instead. I can always get a 512GB micro SDXC card to improve the memory storage on the phone. I'm just hoping it's easy to transfer my files/photos from one to the other. Thank you for this great review! I hope to be happy with my new phone soon. 😎👍🏽
Was also looking at the A35..for a lot more money but with no headphone jack..ugh..I like to plug into my car sometimes..No..I don't have a fancy car with Bluetooth
You may be leaning towards the A25 then. Or maybe the Moto G Stylus 2024 if you find a good deal, that has a headphone jack and is a step up from both of those.
I would say the Galaxy is just a little bit better overall. The speed of both devices will be pretty identical. But you're going to get newer software and better software support on the a25. You also get a full 120 HZ refresh rate on the a25, and the a25 even has 4k video. It's just better overall in my opinion
Hey great review! I have this phone and noticed that sometimes the connection on whatsapp calls drops and I need to log into twitter every time I use it - really odd and has never happened with other phones. Have you noticed anything like that?
I haven't noticed anything like that at all. You can always go into your settings and go to the apps and wipe out the data for the app and try it again. Or uninstall it and reinstall it. But I didn't have any issues with anything like that. Could be a weird software bug. Sometimes those are solved with factory resets too. But hopefully you could just wipe out the data for the app and hopefully that will help
To be fair you can now get all of that in the 2024 Moto G Stylus. It's a pretty big upgrade. Worse speakers than this A25. But I was shocked at the upgrade of the Moto this year. The A25 is great too!
You put on board the reason why people hate Android, here in Latin America, as iPhone user for 5 years and almost 10 years on Android in the past, I know the 50% of the people who hate Android, here they bought their first Android almost 10 years ago, Ram 192, capacity 256mb, obviously this "smartphones" only go well with one app in that time, social media came, Facebook was popular here, being the most non-optimized app draining battery and resources, that result on they buying and 600$ iPhone compared with that minimum Blu 3.5 of 80$ and comparing the experience.
I’d rather buy the A34 5G for £65 less and basically the same phone !. It still has 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security patches . You get IP67 water resistance and an in display finger print sensor too
Im not of fan of iphone they are so good that I don't like there ui menu only thing. You say compare to iphone it come with super amoled? You know Iphone 13 14 15 come with retina+OLED display. That photo look terrible indoor. I have S23 I always with the samsung but I would never say bad thing to the Apple
Had to ditch my Sony Xperia because Firmware upgrades were no longer available and apps were failing because of this. Plonked for the A25 5G -- So far so good...
I think it would be a downgrade. Sorry for the late response. But flagship phones even from years ago will seem better. This will probably be better with battery life and some things, but the camera and some other things will probably be worse, and the speed.
wide, ultrawide, and macro. No zoom lens. We typically don't get any good zoom lenses until you get over $500 honestly. Sometimes they throw them in these phones and they stink anyway.
Maybe try a factory reset. Sometimes people have different expectations with battery life so hard to say if you just came from a phone with worse battery life or what. You can try going to your battery settings to really determine what is draining it so bad.
The realme does beat it out as far as specs. It's slightly faster, more ram in the base model, better specs for the money. But not by a ton. Maybe 15% faster. Screens are similar. It's mainly a performance thing. Not sure what type of software support you'll get from realme. But it's normally pretty good from Samsung. So there are some pros and cons, but I'd lean realme. Based on the specs, but not by much.
Yeah very strange. It sounds more carrier related than phone related. Test out TH-cam, speaker phone, if it's just your voicemail it could be a weird carrier issue or a sim card issue
I don't like how the screen is so orange looking on the A15 and the selfie camera just doesn't take good pictures but the back camera takes real good pictures but my and my other phone which is the Huawei phone that takes so much better pictures in the front and the back crystal clear and i paid the same price as the Samsung phone 200 but the Huawei phones is a hell of a lot better
Honestly, I keep most reviews pretty positive. I tell all the negatives as I go, and for those listening that get annoyed by them, they normally make up their own mind to say no. But I try to factor in the price. Most reviewers are just saying "bad phone" "go buy a 5 year old flagship phone with no software updates and a terrible battery". They just demand you use flagship phones or else. Because most of these reviewers haven't bothered to use mid-range phones or lower end phones, they can't put their mind in that perspective. So I try to review budget phones and give a perspective of a user who uses them. Hope it helps. Dropping my moto g stylus review this morning at 9 am! So trying to cover a lot of mid-range or budget phones and a lot of android tablets too.
@AndroidDigest I didn't have a smartphone for about 5years so the technology now is way ahead of me. I got for mid range because I like a decent ish camera, listening to music and a terrible relationship with social media so try not to use the phone much. I'm not looking for gaming or streaming so why spend more? These are great for people who just want a phone with a bit more processing speed. It's really helpful to review the underdogs, thanks very much. I love my a25 btw
I wanna get this as a move from the Samsung Galxaxy S20. Its been so many years that the specs for all this are better than the S20 for a great price, AND it has a headphone jack!
I would be careful with that. It's been many years, yes. But the Galaxy s20 was the best phone for its time. So if you take the very best flagship phone from years ago, and you compare to a budget phone from today, you're going to get mixed results. The galaxy s20 Will still be faster. The camera's will also be better. And it will still have better things, I'm pretty sure it has water resistance. The budget phones like the a25 will have benefits like better battery life, probably much better battery life, a headphone jack, newer software, more updates, and it's not that far behind as far as other things. Budget phones have advanced, just remember though that the fastest phones from years ago are still going to be faster and have better cameras than budget phones today
@@AndroidDigest thank you so much for your reply! I almost got it yesterday but people interfered with my decision so it's nice to know your opinion too! I'm not a phone person so I think I'm going to hold onto my S20 and save up for the Galaxy S24 :)
Hi buddy, which would you recommend this A25 or OnePlus Nord 3 5G? I like "wrap speed charging on OnePlus phones" and great battery. But it's bigger 0.2" vs OnePlus, so dilemma what would fit better for my son :) Thanks a lot
The Nord is going to be much better overall hardware wise. But if I was buying a phone for my kid I would probably get them the Galaxy A25 5G. Samsung provides more years of updates typically and they are normally more reliable as a company. Regardless I'd say OnePlus does have much better hardware. It's faster, by a noticeable margin. A lot of other things will be similar, but that speed may sway you that way and I wouldn't blame you. But Samsung tends to be pretty reliable, so it is a toss up
@@AndroidDigest Thanks a lot for answer. I'll probably go for Nord 3, Samsung a25 is newer model with Andorid 14, Nord 3 Android 13, but now the price of Nord 3 is €350 and A25 €299 witjhout charger :)
Thanks for the review! I have a Samsung s10e and I love it, but the battery is dying... Do you think this phone is a good choice? I mainly want a good battery, decent perfomance and nice camera. Thanks!
Honestly, that's tough. The S10e was one of the good flagship choices years ago. Now you're looking at budget phones from today. It's sort of a tough comparison. If size doesn't matter to you at all, the Galaxy A35 5G, Galaxy s23 FE, both of those will be very good options. Also the Galaxy s23. Your phone had absolutely awful battery life and even though these aren't the best battery lives in the world, they will still be a lot better than what you had before. All of these phones will have better cameras, etc. Basically, these phones are in this order: 2: Galaxy A35 5G (still very good), 1: Galaxy S23 FE/S23 (these phones are pretty equal. Pros and cons to both) With all that being said, price is a factor, you may find the a355g for a very good price, if you do, that may be a good differentiating factor for you. I'm actually dropping review on that phone tomorrow. Coming from the phone you are, I would at least go for the A35 at a minimum
@@AndroidDigest thank you so much for the detailed answer! The problem is that I bought my s10e second-hand at a really good price, but now I can't seem to find any good deals on the phones you mentioned. Still, do you think I would suffer too much from downgrading to the a25?
Debating on upgrading from the A20, what would be the biggest selling point going from that gen 5 years ago versus this phone and would this be the most directly comparable to that phone? I'm assuming it went A21 22 23 24 now 25 but not sure how much that means
We are talking extremely massive improvements. Your phone didn't even have a 1080p resolution on the screen. It's 3 years behind as far as Android operating system updates. The processing power on your phone is literally less than half of the power of this phone. And your phone only came with 3 GB of RAM which really slows down a lot of multitasking. This phone has a better resolution, double the ram, double the processing power, double the refresh rate, so the screen refreshes faster as you're scrolling. And the cameras are much better. If you are fairly content with your phone, I don't think you'll have to do much better than the a25 because it will blow you away probably compared to what you have. The battery life probably won't be significantly better only because it has more power that it draws and a lot more going on, but it also compensates for that with a newer battery since you will be buying it new. Hopefully this helps
@@AndroidDigest that helps alot!!! Looking at specs and not knowing what I'm looking at would have taken a bunch of research so exactly the explanation I was looking for to make it easy! Thank you!

We live in a time where even midrange smartphones are more than good enough for the average person.

I love my a25. Better than my old a70 by Miles in every single way.
I had A50. Now I have this A25. Speakers are improved much since A50. Incredible good audio.
Ya what up with that
For sure. Really nice audio on this phone
Thankyou🙂!
Thank you for the info. I also have the A50 and at the moment I'm thinking about getting the A25.
The audio is best at its price.. nice
Honestly the only complaints I jave about this phone is the presence of the notch. But considering the specs and inclusion of a 3.5mm port, I can live with it
its time for those teardrop ballsack notches to die already, what a horse manure trend
I just bought the A25 8GB/256GB. I've owned high end Samsung phones before this one, and I can say that the A25 is that great, that I'm not gonna buy a high end phones in the future. It does everything that I need sufficently fast and with a fine result. I can definitely recommend it.

An SD card slot and a 3.5 jack is almost a must in a phone for me. I could drop the SD card slot, but the jack is a must. I will not use an adapter or a wireless headphone.
Yeah, there's not many options for that anymore.
+1 on both. 🙂
This cheap phone has everything.
Xiaomi managed to keep the jack till Poco F5. But the F6 totally dropped it. I predict the Redmi Note 14 and Galaxy A26 will lose the jack as well.
Word.
It's madness how headphone jacks have become such a selling point for me. The most basic requirement not included in any top line phones
got it for $130 through local carrier
I think it's absurd that people pay $800+ for a phone for gaming and photos...
if you wanna play games, get a PC/Laptop
If you wanna take pictures, a $100 digital camera will be better than any phone camera
Very good point. Great deal through the carrier
Wrong about the camera
How much equipment do you want to carry?
no one is going to carry an extra camera when they have their phone
I honestly don't understand why people insist on spending so much on a phone anymore.
they spend do much just to show off.
I was a Xiaomi user for 9 years. But over the last year or two, local vendors in South Africa have inflated prices to the point where Samsung now offers more performance for the price. Switched to the A25, and what a difference from my old redmi 9t. One UI is fantastic
Awesome! Glad to hear it. Well. Glad to hear that second part
I like the Natural look the camera has honestly. It has a view like a regular vision.
I'm with you
Never paid more than 170 dollars for phone. Probably never will.
@mel Only Gamers like me know why we need a 1200 dollar phone ... But a normal phone user doesn't even need a phone for real 😅
maybe the cameras? if we're really interested in that sort of things... and watching Netflix, TH-cam, etc with good quality.

Me may getting A25 in next month fr
Thank you for all the love and support, seriously, it means a ton!

I agree. I think you should be happy with it. If you aren't the A35 should be a big enough jump to help with that. But yeah, the A25 isn't bad at all.
I bought this for my daughter (she's 10) and I'm honestly a little jealous lol. It has a better screen than my current Pixel.

Good video.

It’s not that Apple can’t add 120 Hz, it’s that they won’t.
Exactly. Insane
They gotta save the big updates like that for every 20 updates so they can say they gave you something new
I'm trying to decide between this and the A15 for my kids' first phone. I feel like the 200$ A15 would be better for an 11 year old
I think a25 will last him longer
I agree with you. Don't let the hype that surrounds kids mess with you. The A15 is great. Also. Set up a Google family link account, and set them up a gmail, with you as the parent account. You can set what times they can use it, restrictions, you could even force them to ask you to download every single app. And you can control how long they use each app. Even if you don't want every restriction, even if you want to say very few, at least you will be able to lock the phone at any given time.
But yeah. The A15 would be great. Especially for a first phone. You can upgrade them at 13 or 14
Let's see what you think after it's been dropped A25 or A15...😢

Recently got this phone and i'm impressed and yes it has a headphone jack unlike 800 dollar phones! why take the headphone jack way. Screen is good too so is the speakers.
Absolutely! It's pretty solid!
@@stereobrowser The A55 alone has Esim but thanks for your response
To me, a glass back is more of a compromise than a plastic back. Glass backs are fragile, not “premium”

Same too you😢😢
It's because of Exynos. A35 the same. Eyxnos chipset so bad. I Turkey everyone writing these. Try to close nfc and lower to 60hz
Exynos chipset is sooooo bad. All of the phones which have Exynos all have the same overheat and battery problem.
@Roadrunner_1000 how do you find the A25 on calls? And overall performance?
And it will get updates longer than the Pixel 6 since it's been out for awhile.@@AndroidDigest
How much storage comes in the phone and how much possible storage with the SD card?
128GB. I know you can at least do 1TB of storage so you'll be more then good
It take good pictures in the night also
@@blackbeauty826 no it does not I have the phone it is very grainy at night
Great video! Subbed
Thanks so much! Means a lot
i’m hunting for a non-apple, non-google phone, comparable to the 2020 iphone SE. this has been suggested as a decent replacement, but i don’t have the technical knowledge to actually compare; would switching to this be comparable?
It's really really hard to compare. But I'd say it's pretty close. iPhones from years ago are still slightly faster than some Android phones even from today.
So this should have a better screen. A higher refresh rate. In some ways it will feel smoother. Probably similar cameras. So I'd say it may be comparable. Better battery life in the a25.
I wen't from a Galaxy J6 Plus 3gRam to the A25, im loving it, meets all my requeriments :D
Good review. No need to spend a zillion bucks for a pretty decent phone.
Right. This is pretty good for the money
I don't know anybody that doesn't have a cover on their phone. the fingerprints are only important to a small percentage of people.
Exactly. I do agree with you
Thank you so much for information about this phone
It's great!
Great phone. Got mine in August
Glad you're enjoying it
There is one thing you haven't mentioned: Samsung updates policy. Having a 5-year security maintenance is awesome on a phone like this. I think it's going to be my mom's new device 😃
Yeah their updates are great
Iphone's battery timing on a 60hz display is quite bad, 120hz display is gonna be a killer for apple devices.
My Honor 8a is in a really bad look right now, and I was already looking for a better phone for a long time. I think I found it.
Im getting this phone next week, after using a samsung galaxy a21s for 4 years and 3 month its time for a change, I hate spending money on smartphones
I get it! They are costly
I just got it for 150 last week. It's awesome!
For sure! a great deal
just bought my first samsung, the a25 5g, while i think that the phone is quite good, however, had i known that samsung have removed band selection ,i would have bought another make.cheers.
What band are you missing? Maybe talking about the mmwave? Not a lot of phones are carrying that honestly
Yeah lower end phones are pretty good! The A35 is a big jump up too. And so on. Good if you want to save money
Je me suis abonné à votre chaîne bien évidemment 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻@@AndroidDigest
Would you recomend this or tecno spark 20 pro plus
Seems like a Galaxy A53 in a more modern body. Would be interesting to see if this one gets updates longer than the A53.
It says this phone has ois. The 4k looked super shaky in your video. What about 1080p at 30/60? How's the ois then?
I thought it was okay, but not as good as high end phone obviously, may want to get a second opinion though. Hopefully people will respond.
One UI is really underrated. For it's what sweetens the deal when it comes to android.
For sure!
Good review, but 6.5" is too big for me. I like compact phones like 13 Mini.
Hard to find now adays. May want to look into the Galaxy S23 used or something
Pixel A series 6.1"
The Motorola Moto G Power or this A25 5G ?... Which Moto will compare to this for the same price?
But compared to a lot of other phones out there this phone will still be significantly better with battery life compared to them
@@AndroidDigest alright thanks
@@AndroidDigestdoes the A25 give the option to lower refresh rate to save battery? My redmi drains slower when set to 90hz instead of the full 120hz
@@AndroidDigest I wonder if there's a software issue, I've seen reviews of other Samsung phones where there was an option to change the refresh rate, but I wonder if there's an issue with battery optimization that's causing the drain issue.
@@AndroidDigest turns out that my issue was the charger, I bought a charger head because the phone only came with a C type - C type(these new chargers) and the one I was using that week was a fast charging charger which was not good, I then switched to a different "normal" charger head but with the same C type - C type cable and then battery didn't drain as much
The only reason im dropping Motorola is the amount of years of updating Samsung provides..👍
I really do like Motorola phones, but they are pretty bad with updates
I hope you enjoy it!
@@AndroidDigest I just got my new A25. Paid $250.52 with tax. 😄👍🏽
Thinking of upgrading from A15 just for the Amoled Display..two speakers would be pretty cool, too..
Great video sir!! Question for you, how would you compare this phone to the OnePlus Nord 20 5G?
Loved the details, subbed
Thanks so much
Headphone jack,4k video,2 speakers, amoled display and 120 refresh rate.. I'm about to toss my moto stylus 5g in the trash and get this instead..
For sure
Even better is the new a35 and a55. If only my parents bought me it😭
For sure
I’d rather buy the A34 5G for £65 less and basically the same phone !. It still has 3 years of OS updates and 4 years of security patches .
You get IP67 water resistance and an in display finger print sensor too
That's a reasonable take.
You explained everything very well ❤ much appreciated 👍
Thank you so much, means a lot!
Im not of fan of iphone they are so good that I don't like there ui menu only thing.
You say compare to iphone it come with super amoled? You know Iphone 13 14 15 come with retina+OLED display.
That photo look terrible indoor.
I have S23 I always with the samsung but I would never say bad thing to the Apple
thank you for a detailed review :)
Thank you! Appreciate you
I like this review, so honest and straight to the point when it comes to comparing an android to apple 🎉🎉🎉
Thank you so much!
Had to ditch my Sony Xperia because Firmware upgrades were no longer available and apps were failing because of this. Plonked for the A25 5G -- So far so good...
That's awesome to hear! Glad you're enjoying it.
@@AndroidDigest
Had the Sony for nigh on 10 years, though...
Is it better than an S10? Because I saw that it was 250 at a bestbuy and my S10's plug in broke. Would it be an upgrade or downgrade
I think it would be a downgrade. Sorry for the late response. But flagship phones even from years ago will seem better. This will probably be better with battery life and some things, but the camera and some other things will probably be worse, and the speed.
Any inscreen protection? Gorilla glass ?
No gorilla glass that I know of
Does the camera have standard and zoom or just wide angle lenses?
wide, ultrawide, and macro. No zoom lens. We typically don't get any good zoom lenses until you get over $500 honestly. Sometimes they throw them in these phones and they stink anyway.
I got mine 3 days ago and the battery is already draining so fast with overheating issues as well...what's the solution?
Maybe try a factory reset. Sometimes people have different expectations with battery life so hard to say if you just came from a phone with worse battery life or what. You can try going to your battery settings to really determine what is draining it so bad.
That's because of Exynos chipset. In every Exynos these problems runs. Close nfc and try to low to 60hz from 120hz
Hi great review! Would you recommend this phone or realme 11 pro?:)
@@AndroidDigest Okk thanks!!
I bought this phone in June. I have been impressed until now. The voicemail sound is garbled!! I have tried everything to fix with NO RESOLVE. 3:32
Yeah very strange. It sounds more carrier related than phone related. Test out TH-cam, speaker phone, if it's just your voicemail it could be a weird carrier issue or a sim card issue
You can get this phone for 175€ on sale in Germany now.
i got it for 180$ without carriers.
Great deal
I don't like how the screen is so orange looking on the A15 and the selfie camera just doesn't take good pictures but the back camera takes real good pictures but my and my other phone which is the Huawei phone that takes so much better pictures in the front and the back crystal clear and i paid the same price as the Samsung phone 200 but the Huawei phones is a hell of a lot better
I can tell how excited you are by how high you voice keeps going 😂 I'm glad i ordered it, i thought this was going to be a negative review!
@AndroidDigest the battery is insane on this thing. I watched TH-cam for 5hrs+ yesterday and battery went from 77% to 53%
glad you like......i just bought one today.....whew!!!!
Glad you're enjoying it
@@AndroidDigest looks good so far...
Basically, these phones are in this order:
2: Galaxy A35 5G (still very good), 1: Galaxy S23 FE/S23 (these phones are pretty equal. Pros and cons to both)
With all that being said, price is a factor, you may find the a355g for a very good price, if you do, that may be a good differentiating factor for you.
Expectations. I'm using a Moto G50 that takes 3 working days to open the camera. This one looks attractive.
Yeah it's a jump up in performance from that for sure. The A35 would be that one extra step if you want to take it. Both would be nice improvements
Thank you!
Glad to help
Yeah i have the A25 5G 8G RAM 256 Storage with the exynos 1280 and i really surprised of this
