For what it's worth, I'm enjoying them a lot so far. Even though this Ibanez is mahogany, it still responds really well to them... check out the end of this video for a few more seconds of Crunch Lab awesomeness: th-cam.com/video/_tFYK2qC6Mc/w-d-xo.html 😄
There is an interesting mod with the Crunch Lab where you flip the pickup where the straight bar side faces the bridge rather than the neck. Some say it tightens it up more
I did something similar. I picked up a new RGA 42FM and put Dimarzio Petrucci Dream Catcher and Rain Makers pickups in it. Sounds great. it's interesting that as Petrucci developed his Dimarzios, the output gets lowered. The DC and RM really sound great. I'm wondering what they would sound like in some of my other Duncan JB\59 equipped guitars.
Yup, even these aren't crazy hot, and I love the resulting dynamic response. Need more? That's what pedals were invented for. 😁 That said, I also have a pair of Evolutions to put in my JEM Jr.... 😁 that should be a riot.
Love the Crunch Lab 7..have it in the bridge position of my Ibanez Rg7420. It kicks ass!..heavy punchy crunchy and with lots of clarity even in high gain! 😎👍🤘🤘🤘❤
I like the crunchlab a lot. Is punk and almost unapologetically rude but not facing jail time like a lundgren and a nazgul:p. I have on all my 7s and 9s lundgren m series but i got an rg7620 97 spec a week ago she wears the crunch lab i like her a lot.
The Ibanez humbucker sound more mid or open I should say. But the Liquifier definitely sounds a bit more tighter or scooped if you will. I wonder if it would make a difference in a full band mix.
Well.... First of all, thank you for sharing one more great experience. I have no doubt that the new PUs have a big lot of more juice to take from the guitar, no matter the power output is not very different. I prefer the DiMarzios.... And you can't resist doing "that", won't you? 🤣🤣🤣
Very true, but even then these DiMarzio still feel a step above in clarity and tightness... then it becomes up to the individual to justify (or not!) dropping 50% of the price of the guitar in a set of pickups, when the original ones are already very decent. I did the same recently with my JEM Jr. and put a set of Evolutions in it. They *are* different to the Quantum, but are they €200 better? They were for me - it's a JEM, it should have Evo's 😆

Have the crunch lab/liquifire combo in an Ibanez 7 and I do like it a lot.
Thanks for uploading this! These are the exact pickups I've been looking at for installing into a basswood body Schecter for the DT tone. Subbed!

I might have to try that at some point, thank you!

Crunch labs are amazing pickups.

I’ve a purple 7 string DeArmand I’ve been meaning to upgrade for 8 years now. Maybe this is the push.
Go forth and upgrade! 🤣

Higher and better response at the mid frequencies....
It's too much fun 🤫
Those Quantum pickups are light years better than the stuff Ibanez put in back in the 90's. They weren't even wax potted and screeched like a MF

are pickups easy to replace at home?
Late but yes if you look up a wiring diagram and are somewhat decent at soldering
Oem sounds great
Agreed, they actually sounded better at some points to me. And I just bought a guitar with the Crunch Lab / LiquiFires.
Sounds loose slop either way!
