I mix my leftover paints together within reason when it makes sense. For example, if I have several cans of almost empty whites and creams, I add them together.
@@catherinestewart my most popular color is a dark green I made from mixing some green I didn't love with some leftover gray and black. I have color matched it twice and have done 2 gallons worth of projects in a mishmash color.
Cracked Pepper is the most luxurious gray! I love that color. I have been using this color on quite a few of my flips pairing it with Varathane stain in the color Carrington.
Yes I mix together same colors on color wheel. ..I do the same with nail polish. Love the color on this transformation. Looks beautiful as does all your peices.
I really love the way this set turned out. You've inspired me and my son to try our hand at refinishing his bed this summer. Thanks for the kind words at the video's end.💜
I am new at this furniture flipping bizz. I have been working on an old farm table with balsa veneer. I went from Partially stripping it to stripping it, to trying to do a foe wood finish to stripping and sanding it. I knonw i will make nothing back from this one. Bit I have learned alot along the way.
About the sanding the tops. I think you just needed a higher grit to sand through that pigment. But if it was a veneer, I can understand not wanting to keep going. It was a nice save with the paint. I hope it sold well!
Glenda, time to change your thoughts to positive ones. You did not start the year badly. Everything happens, and we just have to adjust the sails...The dresser looks great!
This turned out beautiful. Those chunky 70s pieces rarely have good wood on top for staining in my experience so i was really curious to see what you found under that finish and you got exactly what i typically find. For that extra paint, I always leave it in the sprayer and pour the top coat into it...for dark colors it helps keep the color rich and saturated. For leftovers of similar colors, I'll mix them to create a full container of a 'custom' color.
I’ve been subscribed to your channel since I watched your bathroom redo. I couldn’t remember your name so I couldn’t look you up. FINALLY I happened across your channel again today and clicked on the subscription bell to see what was going on and why I wasn’t receiving any of your videos or updates that you posted a new. Anyway, they had me on “personalized “ so I somehow, it kept me from receiving all of the notifications. I’m sorry!! I’m here to show my support now.
Regarding the bits of paint left over: I would make a mix of some paints that are left over, and therefore have a unique color. As long as you mix water base with water base, and oil base with oil base you can blend some of the colors. Then maybe use your old empty small paint cans for some DIY projects, … maybe cover/decoupage with fabric or papers and make utensil/paint brush/pencil holders, or make decorative risers. Idk. Or maybe just recycle the cans at a metal scrap yard once emptied. 😊
Oh, it looks good, I feel you on the top. If it was the same as the bottom, that would have been sweet, but I know it was giving you trouble. Hay, it still looks amazing
There’s a fairly new paint company called UP paint and they recycle leftover paint. You can look them up online and find out how. I have used their chalk paint and like it very much. Love this video. The piece is beautiful.
Mix paint or sometimes recycling centers will have pain days and they accept unused leftovers just leave them in the original container so they know what to mix with what.
Pro tip! I have the sander as well but the triangle one these are finishing sanders. They are too tall to get into most drawers but they don’t have the same power that the ets one with the really low profile. That one is shorter and goes into small spaces but it has more power because it’s not a finish sander I have that one as well. You still have time to return it but the other one is more expensive. I want the rotex next that ones a beast and removes material so quickly.. but have fun girl once u start with festools u get hooked lol
Beautiful!.Hi Glenda thank you for sharing.I love the way you explain what you did here.I just finish painting with that same paint sprayer and same paint, but I had to ad a little bit of water to my paint ,because it looks too thick.Di you ad water to your paint too?Thank you!
If its the one thing I'm sure of with every project, no matter how I think things thru, that never works out, so working backwards happens. Each piece has idiosyncrasies. I will never use behr again, love Dutch Boy Platinum Plus. Beautiful job.
You could recycle your paint. UP Paint is a recycled paint. The company will send you boxes to pack your leftover paint. Then just mail it back to them.

I do that too. Or if it's chalk paint, I may use it for blending.
Good idea!
Me too it saves waste and usually end up with a great stand out colour as well.

Ring. The extra paint for crafts. Or offer the leftover paint to a crafter in your area. Put up a sign in a crafting shop.
Love the cracked pepper color. Decided that's the gray I'll be using for the bathroom cabinets in our new rental. 😁

Nothing!
@@GlendaChavez wooow! 😂 In Spain they are soooo picky about any tiniest detail 😩😂
You should make a flip challenge where the challenge is to use up old paints. I would definitely watch that.
Oooo I love this idea!💡❤️
WOW great job again

Wow! Hi there! Thanks for being here!
Remember your only human and probably a very busy Mum, wife but I think you are an extremely talented young woman.
What is the brand of sprayer you are using? Wagner Or other ?
If its the one thing I'm sure of with every project, no matter how I think things thru, that never works out, so working backwards happens. Each piece has idiosyncrasies. I will never use behr again, love Dutch Boy Platinum Plus.
Beautiful job.
Wait! why won't you use behr?
Tell me more! Ive never heard of dutch boy!

I am not! Here in Texas! ❤️
Doesn’t Habitat for Humanity take old paints?
👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
The design in the doors aged the design.
Awww, I thought they kept the piece unique and added character 🥲
👍🤗👌
👍👍👍💕🌷
Sorry they have such bad reviews. I’ve ordered from them, never again
