Should You Buy A Base BMW 330i?

  • Doing something a little different this week, I'm reflecting on a car I reviewed exactly one year ago... the G20 BMW 330i!!
    In this shorter review, I just wanted to tackle the question of whether or not a base 330i is worth it... and the good news is that it indeed is!
    With more standard options than previous model years, the 2022 BMW 330i packs a solid amount of tech and amenities into an already pleasurable driving experience and only enhances some of the luxury you get out of a base model 3 series. Budget "ultimate driving experience" anyone?
    If you want my more thorough thoughts on the 330i, then check out my full review from last year!

    I have recently bought a late 2021 bmw 330 m sport in portimao blue , it has upgraded black grill and blacked out windows which are essential imo, the car in sport plus mode is rapid I absolutely love it , my only disappointment is that they don’t come with elec memory seats, I am also gonna change the 18” standard wheels and go for the 19” black 793’s to finish the car off

    Love the color but not my favorite .I went with Black Sapphire Metallic with black leather seats ,night package ,track and handling package with red M Brakes with these wheels adaptive cruise control laser lights ,Harmon Kardon ,wireless charging pad ,Adaptive M suspension.remote engine start . Heads up display. People say the Dynamic handling Package is a waste of money .Don't fool yourself .Hitting twisting roads at 45 or more ,it handles like a champ and the larger brakes ,makes it that much more sportier . My car is 2021, picked up from dealer( October 15,2021} ,the production time was 6o days.So it was not affected by the semiconductor chip.The 2022 is missing a lot of the options above .The active cruise control is my favorite and it reads stop signs and slows the car down when I reach different speed zones.I love my BMW and this is my 8th one since 1984. would never buy a base model.my car cost $55,678 6k down 60 months @ 567.63. With this chip shortage. I am keeping my car .

    I am so glad they made the ambient lighting standard because the base x3's and gran coupe 2 series had it so I was always confused why they would skimp the 330. The 330i has some lazy engine timing, because it's high compression makes it very knock limited. It is near impossible to tune aggressively. In stock form, it's too relaxed in daily driving, and only moderately quick mashing the gas. If you are going to tune, the Audi A4 is a much better option, and you also get the lovely Dual-Clutch transmission.

    Love you man but respectfully disagree. Lowest trim I’d go for is M340i. The problem with the 330i is that for the same payments you could have a Model 3. I still think having the B58 is more of a flex than a Model 3, but I couldn’t pay that much for a 4-cylinder.

    • @Reoniz
      @Reoniz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      That's a completely fair stance... I personally wouldn't get a 330i either, for the money, but it's a lot more value now in the low 40's than it used be!
      Market conditions are super messed up rn and the steals of the past are hard to come by, but I believe this is a good value prop when things return to normal 👍 (especially for those who don't care too much about performance)

      In California yes I'd say get a 330e if you find a good lease special because you get California clean air vehicle credit, you can drive in the carpool lanes, and the express lanes, and you get down here in San Diego a SDGE, San Diego Gas & Electric, 1k credit that you have to apply for. I'm perfectly happy with a 330i rear-wheel drive, ideally with the premium package and the driver assistance Pro... bass Hi-Fi isn't awful you can easily make it better, was not impressed with the Harman Kardon of course it's better than hi-fi but also it's kind of hard to find because of the chip shortage
