      @@sandylikethebeach2492 Oh how cool it that a female mechanic, definitely a rare bread you are. We need more women and girls to get into motor sports or fixing vehicles for sure. Be confident, I had a 70 year old lady use one of my videos to change a starter in her Caravan, so you got this for sure. Just let me know if you need any advice or help with anything and I'll do my best to get you the answer. Again make sure the Battery is disconnected before you pull any components and you are clear of the Airbag before you start the vehicle for the first time. You know put the van in park etc. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

    Very informative, ,thanks for not assuming everyone who is watching knows what you're talking about. I've got to do my clock spring on my 2005 grand caravan due to intermittent airbag warning light coming on and going off. The warning light more times than not, go off when I turn the steering wheel to the far right. Thanks very much.

    Keith- What A Great job you did on this video , very clear speech, video clear and clear information on each step. Even with a little camera jiggling all came over clearly and informative as to some possible dangers. amazing how one handed you captured all phases of the project....I have to do the same thing to my Caravan ! Things are newer today in auto mechanics, I needed this video, even the part No. Thanks

      Hey Dale, you're welcome. I needed this video too! So when I went to look for one I found a few but not for my year and they were all just close. So I decided to make one for my year in case anyone like you who needed it. I found it's a lot of fun to teach what I know so I decided to start doing videos on what I know. Also I have a whole list of Caravan repair Videos in case you need some more look here: th-cam.com/play/PLVLXGvrQp0OsNcwRxmtCkZaF5cjnffAdW.html Thanks for the comment and glad to help.

    Very helpful video, thanks..allowed me to see how things went together, so I stripped mine and simply WD40'd all the eletrical connections, and end of problem..No more air bag warning light!! Great, saved £££'s..Paul UK

    • @keithnoneya
      @keithnoneya  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the kind words Paul. Wish mine had been that simple. How they work: Inside the clock spring is a ribbon cable all coiled up loosely like a roll of dry wall tape. As the wheel turns it either unwinds or winds up. The problem is one or both of the ends either it breaks or the solder joints get loose. These do wear out so eventually it will go intermittent or break. If either happens at least you'll know how to replace it now.

      Some pretty good ideas. I especially like the magnetic tip idea, but I try to use hand tools most folks have lying around in their garage. The head cam LOL, I move around to much for that. I did by a tripod and I use it in a lot of my newer videos now. Thanks for the tips and watching. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

    There's no winding of this? Put it on pull the tab and it's ready? I just got one for my jeep

    • @keithnoneya
      @keithnoneya  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If the wheels are straight and steering wheel is straight up then, you're absolutely correct. If you install it and then straighten the wheels the Clock spring may be damaged and you'll need another one. The reason is inside there is a wound up flexible ribbon cable that winds and un-winds as the wheel is turned. It has a limit to the number of winds it can do, so that's why you have to make sure the wheels and steering wheel is straight before it's installed. Hope that answers your question. Thanks for watching. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

    the panel under my steering column was off and there is a white canvas bag. i put it back together and i can still see the bag. is that normal? i thought there was foam there. also i saw no sign of forced entry.

    • @keithnoneya
      @keithnoneya  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      My van was a 2002 Dodge Grand Caravan. I'm not sure if it's normal. I would take it to the dealer or a certified mechanic and have them check it out. sorry I'm not more helpful, but I've never heard of that before. Best Wishes & Blessings. Keith Noneya

    Is it true that if your horn works then it is NOT the clockspring? I bought this van used and the airbag looked a little puffy, like it tried to deploy but didn't. The front right quarter panel shows that it was in a fender bender. I have an SRS code of 25 "driver squib" problem.

    • @keithnoneya
      @keithnoneya  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Will not sure about that. The clock spring routes, the horn, cruise control, air bag wires or any other controls on the movable part of the steering wheel. If your air bag light is on and you notice that when you turn the wheel that it goes out some times, it's a good bet you have an intermittent clock spring, or wiring harness for it. If you have any doubts about that airbag change it or have someone knowledgeable check it out. If you have a friend with the same van swap it out and seed if the light goes out. Or pick one up at the junk yard cheap if they have one. Let me know how everything works out for ya, I'm curious about that code. Ps what vehicle do you have. Thanks for watching.
      Best Wishes n Blessings Keith
