“I don’t understand why multicultural children in Korea keep suffering like this” It’s because Korea doesn’t enforce laws, nor take any actions towards severe situations like this. They need to set boundaries and teach students that the way others look, whether biracial or a entirely different race, should not make them less than a person. It’s a repetitive cycle that’s continuous which is upsetting. Korea is a very homogenous country so anyone different is going to be treated differently, whether intentional or unintentional. Give it back so my mum marched all the way up to the park and gave them a piece of her mind and now they don't mess with us at all and always greet my mum with respect whenever they see her lol

you never know someone’s situation although bullying is fucking terrible, wishing them public humiliation and severe punishment doesn’t make you much different from them.. i hope you move out of this revenge mindset as it’s unhealthy
So he was bullied, beaten and hospitalized. What happened to the bullies? Did they get arrested for the incident? Did the families have to pay for the hospital bill? Did the Bakers sue the other families? Lot of unanswered questions. Such a loving family dynamic! Sad that he had to go through this but I hope restitution was paid and this message gets put out there that there is zero tolerance for bullying!
I'm a halfie growing up in the UK. When I was younger I would get bullied in primary school for looking chinese and when I went to chinese school on sundays I would get bullied for not being fluent in chinese and being "not a REAL Asian". It was so difficult but as I grew older I began thinking "Its not that I DON'T belong anywhere but I belong EVERYWHERE" .... I have the best of both worlds. which is more than my bullies had. So I can enjoy more culture. Mother Earth is here for us all to share and look after, why do we need boundaries and elitism to destroy that?
Liz Magix ++ Your mindset is beautiful, how you reconcile your painful past to who and where you are. Remain strong and open-minded Liz. The world is a better place with you in it!
“It’s not that I don’t belong anywhere but I belong everywhere” such wise and enlightening words. I’ll add this to my daily mottos and affirmations, if you don’t mind of course ☺️
Little bro looks like he is in the era of One Direction haha! He reminds me of 1D especially Louis with that long hair. And the big bro reminds me of Vernon from Seventeen and sounds like Winner Jinwoo. This family look so fun.
His name is Daniel. It reminded me of a webtoon called lookism where the main protagonist is also called Daniel and is bullied in school... 😅😅 And he later changes his weak personality to become a better himself just like this Daniel over here 😁😁😁 In short, Daniel you're a hero! Don't be afraid of standing up for yourself! Fighting! 👍👍
It hurts to see so many kids still getting bullied for just looking different.. I wish the teachers and politicians would finally do something about it!!
I got bullied too in Korea for being mixed but I soon moved to England with my dad when my parents divorced but I know how it feels and I promise it get better but never change yourself for others 💜💖
Bullying is like a reflection on a mirror. No one wants to be bullied no one accept it so it went back to the person who starts it. It's like if you frown in front of a mirror you would see your own reflection. So, STOP BULLYING PLEASE
I think bullying is a matter of upbringing. If people brought up their kids right, telling them what's okay to do and what's not okay to do then such things would not have been an issue.
мαяιє Korea is still very much a place where everyone looks the same mixed kids stand out and no matter what the parents say beforehand it doesn’t change that the mixed kids are different than them.
@@ItsBrittanyLajoyce I can see where you're coming from but I don't completely agree with you. Not all Koreans look alike uno, you have light Koreans, dark Koreans, skinny ones, chubby ones. It's virtually impossible for everyone to look alike. If the parents taught them from the beginning that being different is okay, everyone is different in their own ways then I feel like they would be more open minded and accepting towards mixed raced kids. Cause that's what they're been taught. A child's first teacher is their parents. Everything starts with them.
But they still are again and they do have similar features someone who’s mixed with a western look like this guy has stands out also mixed kid with super tanned skinned or someone who’s not mixed is way different
I think everyone knows bullying is wrong. Whether you bully or not is a matter of insecurity. It doesn’t matter if you, teachers, peers tell you that bullying is wrong. If a child isn’t raised to be secure in themselves, they will become a bully simply through the effort of trying to bring down others to make themselves feel more valuable.
Yes this is sooo true it is all about the parents who raise these bullies. Where else would they have learned to behave like that. The parents are also to blame too and well yes the society is still conservative. But in general for mixed persons it depends on how different you look though, but if you really stand out it can be difficult to fit in with a group of people who look and think the same.
Here in the US, if there is any physical evidence that your child was bullied, you have every right to file criminal and civil charges against the bully. If the bully is 11 years and above, he/she is already qualified to be sent to juvenile detention tp serve time for bullying. Too bad SK is still too lenient against bullies.
I agree. This kind of bullying is repetitive in South Korea. There are no laws enforced, minors won’t be held accountable, and its simply disregarded. In America, try this and you’ll be severely accountable for. Korea needs to set boundaries and make students understand that whether the person is biracial or a entirely different race, it makes them no less of a person. I know they’re a homogeneous country, but that doesn’t justify anything. They need to be more inclusive and hold accountability on situations like this. I hear these stories all the time and it’s upsetting.
@@jeonieejeon948 It happened when he was part of the school soccer team in South Korea. Even his Korean friend got bullied too, probably because the Korean friend was hanging out with him.
@@slee2695 My child attends a public school here with all races represented - black, hispanics, Asians, even Arabs. And they all get along quite well and accept each other without prejudice. :) Now tell me, can you say the same in SK? ;)
I hate bullying so much. The fact that he had to be hospitalised makes me so sad. Anyone who has to end up in such situation because of bullying doesn't deserve it. I hope anyone who is reading this and is getting bullied becomes free and happy, I know that feeling and it's crap. Daniel if you're reading this, you're a cool guy keep going.
Wow this family is too cute😍😍😍....and sinseong is handsoooooooomeeee......and mature.....woooow !!!! I had tears when they talked of the bullying...why would someone do it to another human... When did values fade?????whyyyyyy? Let's love each other and co-exist, pleaseeee!!!
he is good at studying, talented at singing, amazing at soccer, incredible at cooking, plays volleyball, and even good at skateboarding plus nice to his familyyyyy. WOW
This family seems so lovely. I'm sorry he had to go through that but thank God for such a loving family that helped him through that time! I'm shocked b/c in CA there is zero tolerance to bullying. This kid got expelled from school for just pushing another boy off the swings. What happened to those boys? If he got hospitalized, those kids should've been expelled! With his great attitude, he'll go far in life!
this is honestly one of my favourite episode ever! the family is sooo adorable and supportive of each other. daniel is very lucky to have a beautiful family and a supportive surrounding. i hope one day that his dream eventually comes true and he leads a happy life.
This made me so angry and sad for the boy, he clearly has athletic talent, the whole trajectory of his life was changed because of racist bullying. I wonder if the two boys want to train to be idols, because they are so handsome!!!
Not every korean youth want to be idols. Better steer clear of toxic idol world, it would ruin their psyche even further, it's another bullying system basically, you must do anything & everything to please your seniors and producers, absolute submission. Korean showbiz is ridiculously rigid, and unnecessarily perfectionist, it's a lonely world, company dictates you can't date, nor hang out with friends, journalists and crazed fans always stalking you, ready to dig up your dirt to ruin you.
I'm African but lived in Britain. I am quite light skinned, tannish, and I got bullied for being too dark when we lived in Britain. then when we moved back to Africa I was outcasted because I was too light. I am very socially awkward and don't like to talk to people because of my accent. I honestly wish bullying would stop.
Kids can be cruel. I faced it and I'm so glad he is getting better and he can openly talk about bullying. It took me years to speak up. I remember when my mother asked me why didn't I fight my bullies or why I haven't told her before. I guess that 10 year old child was scared of being judged, judged for things she never had any idea about, about things that she can't fix. I know it wasn't fair when you saw people around you having a great day and you stay had to hide. I know it wasn't fair when you wished and prayed every morning so that you won't be picked that day. I know it isn't fair when you had to question yourself everyday, "What's wrong with me?" or something like, "Why everyone hates me?" I know this. I know how it feels. If you're bullied, I won't say "You aren't wrong' or "You are strong" because I know no words can heal those scars. I can only say that I know how it hurts and you are not alone. I'm with you.
I just love how the family is always full of positive energy. And all those games where everyone could be together, talk and play. This strengthens their relationships. I have never seen a more close-knit family than theirs, that’s so adorable im jealous tbh 😂
I believe this great young man will achieve so many good things in his life one day💪. Look at his behavior and how respectful he’s 👏🏾👏🏾 I really wish him all the best🙌🏽💙 (Don’t mind my bad English btw🙂)
he’s insanely well rounded, smart, hardworking, funny, handsome, has good social skills. i guess forty minutes of insight into someone’s life isn’t enough to put him on a pedestal but i really envy him.
There seems to be many bullies in Korea. I wonder why. If he was studying in my country then, he would be a star player, with many friends to practice with, play with, hang out with. A shattered dream bc of bullying. So unfair.

This was recommended several times on youtube for me so i’ve decided to watch it finally and *im glad*. Truly i can see the trauma his middle school experience has left him but what i can mostly see is his passion in everything from then on. A strong soul with such great support from his family which i believe is essential because not many can have the confidence to even speak up or some people not even having such support from their family. With such hardworking and kind heartened soul hes been brought up to be, i see him and his other siblings too going places big.
awh poor thing :( i’m half malaysian and part korean, part white. as a kid i used to get teased a lot for looking different.. but hearing stories like this makes me so heartbroken that kids get bullied to this extent. i can tell he has such a bright future tho, and i wish him all the best ♡
This boy is so wise for his age. His parents are teaching him well. And I'm sad he had to go through that. I absolutely hate bullies. I dont care if they're minors, they deserve to go to jail if they bully someone to the point of hospitalisation. Bullies are just disgusting excuses for human beings
Can't believe bullying still happens in the 21st century, what did they gain by beating him up? absolutely nothing. Hope Daniel keeps going further because he clearly has a bright future ^^ 화이팅 ㅎㅎ
I feel like he was bullied because he’s biracial. Which sucks why should people feel the need to hurt someone just because they’re different. Even if it’s not because he’s biracial I just don’t understand why people have so much hate...?
I believe that is was because of ignorance for the most part. In Korea, there aren't many foreigners living there compared to the amount of native koreans. Because of this, they aren't used to seeing people who look and speak differently then they do. Most of the things that koreans know about foreigners is the stereotypical portrayal of them from the media. And the bullies went after him because he was different. Smh
This is actually cause they have a lot of stress from their school system and want to take it out on new kids who have no backing in the community since their parents are practically outsiders.
What a sweet family. I love how the parents feel like they are friends to their kids. They listen to their problems and things are always fun and upbeat at home. In return, the kids feel like they're able to communicate with their parents and are comfortable in expressing themselves. I wish all the best to this family!
Honestly this episode made my heart warm!! He’s an absolutely like perfect kid honestly and the family is so cute! They have a great like vibe and I’m sure they’ll all be successful whatever happens!! Also whoever did all of that bullying crap needs to watch this and regret breathing👏
I'm so glad that despite everything that happened he didn't distance himself from his family, and that he instead turned to them for support... This is how it should be. And I'm also glad he's at a better place in his life now, I'm sure him and his family will continue to be happy. I hope all of the three siblings get to live the rest of their lives happily and without having to face anything bad like what happened in the past, I'm sure Sinseong or Daniel would find his dream, and so will his two siblings. This family made my heart really warm, especially the mother... I don't agree with telling your kid to be violent, but I felt the sincerity in her words, and the trapped in desperation from when that happened, and well, sometimes parents resort to things they rather not have to in order to protect their kids, and despite the bad advice, I know it came from a place of love and wanting to protect her son. Overall, I'm happy that this story had a happy ending (well, on the show because their life has clearly not ended yet and I'm sure it will only get better)
I'm half Korean, half white, just like you, born and raised in California! I'm 28 now but growing up my identity was always something I thought about; you truly have the best of both worlds! I realized that as I got older, and actually wish that everyone got to have a similar experience living multicultural. The hardships you're going through now will only make you stronger and, honestly, that much more interesting and unique! You already are, but you have something others don't, that perspective is a gift! Fighting!
They re a good loving family, very close to each other..., I wish there's no more bully in school for local or foreigners......sinseong will be success ....he did so well on study and when learning in the restaurant .he is a good manner son .I wish the family all the best...God bless!!

This guy has an amazing family that constantly shows him how much they love him, has fun with him and support his dreams, and even so you can see how the fact he was bullied left such a big scar on him. It breaks my heart to think about people being bullied that do not have a support system as good as he has. Daniel is sweet, smart, well mannered, talented and has a great support system, I hope he can accomplish his dreams and live a life his bullies will be envious of.
I feel the pain that the young man is going through. I immigrated to US and was subjected to racial, age and more discriminations. Be strong and get yourself advance in education. You will be successful in your field. Because after years of professional achievement, I am proud to be an American/ Korean Dual citizenship holder. So I believe in you and your family.
i feel so sad watching this... bullying makes me BOIL i hate it so much, naturally. i can’t understand how someone could be so cruel to someone who has done NOTHING! i’m so happy he’s pushing through the past experiences and he’s studying hard and cheerful
I was bullied during my childhood. It was painful, I felt helpless, I couldn't even cheered myself up. And the effects are great. It has truly affected me. Surely no one is deserved to be bullied. Ever. Every kid should be taught about this kind of thing, that everybody is equal and you should not hurt people. To anyone who has experienced being bullied, you are strong. Don't forget that. It is just another phase in your life. There are still many people out there who love and care about you. Be strong always because you are awesome!
I'm a 2nd year college student now and i'm taking up Psychology as my course. Don't worry karma will catch them someday
you never know someone’s situation although bullying is fucking terrible, wishing them public humiliation and severe punishment doesn’t make you much different from them.. i hope you move out of this revenge mindset as it’s unhealthy
Disagree... Public humiliation seen more like a solution only a person blind and with issues seen to think.
@@AiEnma23 lmao you've never been bullied and it shows.
Not gonna lie the kids can become models
Protect that child.
Probably nothing happened. Korean law seems to be too lax for youth.
HIS FAMILY IS SOOO FREAKIN SWEET N FUN😭❤️!!! But u know wat I have a feeling this boy's gonna be famous someday! Like he's just perfect inside n out~
I'm a halfie growing up in the UK.

“It’s not that I don’t belong anywhere but I belong everywhere” such wise and enlightening words. I’ll add this to my daily mottos and affirmations, if you don’t mind of course ☺️
@@chimcham6762 go for it friend! As long as it helps you believe in yourself
Little bro looks like he is in the era of One Direction haha! He reminds me of 1D especially Louis with that long hair. And the big bro reminds me of Vernon from Seventeen and sounds like Winner Jinwoo. This family look so fun.
THE LILBRO HAS JUNKGOOK SMILE TOO
He looks like the younger version of Vernon
Omg trueeee 😂💛💛
His name is Daniel. It reminded me of a webtoon called lookism where the main protagonist is also called Daniel and is bullied in school... 😅😅 And he later changes his weak personality to become a better himself just like this Daniel over here 😁😁😁
In short, Daniel you're a hero!
Oh I’m half Korean and English as well
3:35 I like how the father tries his best to speak ENGLISH as slow as he could to adjust to the Korean audience. He's so polite and very welcoming.
He’s so mature. He deserves all the happiness in the world
Bullying is like a reflection on a mirror. No one wants to be bullied no one accept it so it went back to the person who starts it. It's like if you frown in front of a mirror you would see your own reflection.
So,
STOP BULLYING PLEASE
Hes sooo cute and good looking he will become something special he seems sooo smart
He's really good looking and has such a great personality!! Wish him all the best for his future :D
They move in Korea when he was 11 though so maybe it was still in California.
@@jeonieejeon948 It happened when he was part of the school soccer team in South Korea. Even his Korean friend got bullied too, probably because the Korean friend was hanging out with him.
Give me a break..bullying is so bad they shoot up the schools in frustration..amerikkka sucks
I feel like he would become a really good actor and his visuals and personality is outstanding 🙂❤️
I am really proud of Sinseong that he overcome from his dark past.
He seems so sweet... I wish him all the best. That he was hospitalized from the bullying is not ok at all but I’m glad his family is so living
I really wanted to hear him singing though 😊😊😊
Wow this family is too cute😍😍😍....and sinseong is handsoooooooomeeee......and mature.....woooow !!!! I had tears when they talked of the bullying...why would someone do it to another human... When did values fade?????whyyyyyy? Let's love each other and co-exist, pleaseeee!!!
I hope Daniel see all these positive comments knowing that many people love and support him. We’re rooting for you!
he is good at studying, talented at singing, amazing at soccer, incredible at cooking, plays volleyball, and even good at skateboarding plus nice to his familyyyyy.
Too lax on the bullies again. Seems that 15 years from the time I left Asia they still haven't got the memo.
Theyre all so emotionally intelligent )) i could relate to Sinseong a loot, he's a nice kid
this is honestly one of my favourite episode ever! the family is sooo adorable and supportive of each other. daniel is very lucky to have a beautiful family and a supportive surrounding. i hope one day that his dream eventually comes true and he leads a happy life.
This made me so angry and sad for the boy, he clearly has athletic talent, the whole trajectory of his life was changed because of racist bullying. I wonder if the two boys want to train to be idols, because they are so handsome!!!
I hope they cast them for a show and later if they like the experience and if is their choice they can become idols because they are very cute😍
Lol, I agree...
The bullying made me so flipping frustrated and upset 😠
I'm with you.
u said it all
he’s a great role model for the youth, resilient and determined. (and he’s cute)
Look at his behavior and how respectful he’s 👏🏾👏🏾 I really wish him all the best🙌🏽💙
(Don’t mind my bad English btw🙂)
he’s insanely well rounded, smart, hardworking, funny, handsome, has good social skills. i guess forty minutes of insight into someone’s life isn’t enough to put him on a pedestal but i really envy him.
There seems to be many bullies in Korea. I wonder why. If he was studying in my country then, he would be a star player, with many friends to practice with, play with, hang out with. A shattered dream bc of bullying. So unfair.
I want to be friend with him 😭😭😭😭
Same. He's so chill and though I've never seen him before he changed his personality it seems that he's quite skilled at self improvement! 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
IKR he even plays volleyball mannn.. havent got a friend to play volleyball with😭
I wish u have a wonderful life later on and forget about that darkness . it's too hard memory to keep up . past is past . future is still .... More than that i really admire ur famliy . I wish i too have famliy like ur ... A very best of luck on ur dream 🙏🙏🙏
Hope Daniel keeps going further because he clearly has a bright future ^^
화이팅 ㅎㅎ
I love to see that their family get along with each others so well
What a sweet family. I love how the parents feel like they are friends to their kids. They listen to their problems and things are always fun and upbeat at home. In return, the kids feel like they're able to communicate with their parents and are comfortable in expressing themselves. I wish all the best to this family!
his story is sad and cheerful, but he is so cute 😭
This kid is a special soul. wishing him all the best and luck for his future
Honestly this episode made my heart warm!! He’s an absolutely like perfect kid honestly and the family is so cute! They have a great like vibe and I’m sure they’ll all be successful whatever happens!! Also whoever did all of that bullying crap needs to watch this and regret breathing👏
I think when he was in class 5 other kids were jalous of him how he was good in every thing and maybe of his looks too..he is a handsome guy ☺
Fighting!
WHAT CAN I SAY?? I AM WATCHING THIS TALENTED BOY ON 3 AM. AWW... BLESS MY EYE GOSH
They re a good loving family, very close to each other..., I wish there's no more bully in school for local or foreigners......sinseong will be success ....he did so well on study and when learning in the restaurant .he is a good manner son .I wish the family all the best...God bless!!
Bullying apart I really love their family. I never had this. They play and sing together go on walks and all love each other.
Aw he's such a cute, cheerful good boy. I am so thankful he has such an amazing friend and does what it takes to be successful and happy. ♥️
This episode warmed my heart. I smiled the entire episode. What a warm, loving family. Baker family fighting!
I really enjoyed this episode. Thank you
His personality will make you fall for him.
Danial you’re awesome and I’m rooting for you. Hang in there and everything will work out perfectly. You have an amazing family to support you and go back to anytime you need them
omg he just so perfect n a very rounded student,,,such a nice personality,,i wish to see him more in several episodes like The Return OF Superman,,,i just can't get enough of him,,,very talented n a nice boy
3:31 her mother is so pretty !
The cameraman was so friendly!! Hope he films more with the crew
This boy is a real inspiration. he has a good heart and soul. I loved this episode.
KBS should do follow special like ' where are they now " ..... would love to see how they are doing
The MC's had been bullied when childhood. And look at them now. I think every bully's victims are way smarter than the bullies.
They seem like such a nice family! All of their children are so adorable also, I hope sinseong accomplishes everything he wants to, he’s so talented!
I like his personality and passion. He's so mature as well
I cried when the cameraman was attentively listening to him and was kind of reassuring I really like this cameraman
i feel so sad watching this... bullying makes me BOIL i hate it so much, naturally. i can’t understand how someone could be so cruel to someone who has done NOTHING! i’m so happy he’s pushing through the past experiences and he’s studying hard and cheerful
He’s very handsome
I hope kbs always use this camera man , he is so sweet . He do his job in a very good way .
The best episode ever I wanna keep following them , I didn’t want it to end . It motivated me
I'm a 2nd year college student now and i'm taking up Psychology as my course. I hope he'll continue to pursue Psychology in his college because Psychology is really a big help especially to him that he suffered from bullying and to fully overcome the pain, emotionally, physically and mentally. Best luck to him.
I just came across this episode . Wow I love that family already. What a bright and cheerful family ❤️
This family is beautiful and their children are going to be beautiful and handsome adults. Kids are just hating lol 😂
this boy is totally my type !! I like his voice and smart calm look > v < also i feel bad for him and his family but thank goodness he is good at everything so he can show them who's more powerful
He’s such a kind and insightful young man! Bullying is horrible and I was saddened and angry while listening to what happened to him. People, including kids, can be so cruel. You’re an inspiration to a lot of people out there Daniel! I hope you continue to be bright, healthy and curious about the world. You have a wonderful family and you seem to be a great role model for your younger siblings. I hope you’re blessed with health, happiness and success. You have a very bright future ahead of you ☺️
Am I the only one who clicked this video because her son is so handsome😂😂 but yeah I learned a lot
he is cuteeeeeee, so is his brooo! i felt so angry hearing about those bullies and i love how he isn't afraid to express his love for his family, i wouldn't be able to do that
Even though that we are at the same age but his personality and the way he thinks are amazing and older from his age , also a hard worker i can see that keep going you can do anything you want ⭐️. I am sure now you are my role model ❤️ thanks for inspiring me ❤️
those bullies who beat him up until he got hospitalised needs some serious punishment and counselling. The fact that kids that young are already becoming bullies is very worrying.
he's a bright guy i need in life. it's saddens me hw he was traumatized wid past experiences..btt ppl u still need to go on..i'm simping over him.. ✊🏻
