I wish everyone watched this show in Korea. The father-in-law is from Kyeongsang Province which is super conservative (the conservative party gets over 90% of the votes in every election). If an old guy from that province can change his mindset, it means that everyone else in Korea can be open to other cultures and people. This show is not just entertaining but really changing the country week by week.
He really didn't change his mind though... he just learned to accept him since he's the daughter's husband. He still didn't come to their wedding in Korea, or seem to really embrace them on their outing.
ChoklatGeisha no he didn’t come a that time because it was too much for him. But then he sees that the husband always do everything to be accepted by him and at the end he let his heart open for him. He accepts him and what he is. He changed his mindset and like his son-in-law which it’s very beautiful.
Gabriel is such an excellent teacher, his methodology is pretty good! Besides, he has a beautiful family and I have the feeling that his kids are going to be very attractive when they grow up ❤
gabriel could have sold those clothes to get a bit more money but instead he did it to help his friend... even gave the suit that he wore at his wedding which is amazing. this man has all my respect and makes me believe that there is hope for humanity lol. i hope that good things will come for him and his wife so that they can live comfortably and so that their kids can get the toys that they want ^^ so much love for this family ~

Y'all are really hard on the mother for how she was caring for her daughter's hair. You guys couldn't have possibly expected for an Asian woman with straightish hair to know how to care for curly bi-racial hair properly but she was willing to learn and asked for help when she needed to. I've known plenty of black women that go through the same struggle of caring for their children's hair and don't hesitate to put a relaxer in it at ages younger than this woman's daughters. A lot of us curly heads didn't always know better either lol. We had to learn too. So the comments here are a little too critical. Just my opinion
I as a straight up black girl, don't perm or heat on the hair it gonna damage and your going to cry, so the mother should try watching videos, also the one lady that straight the girls hairs...
My question, why isn't the dad taking care of the hair instead of teaching his wife?? If he doesn't know how to do it either I'd rather people give the mom a bit of a break.
I also have multiracial children. Indian, Spanish, Greek, Afican and some others I don't know but all three had different hair textures and skin colors. I'm from the Caribbean and my husband's family is from Puerto Rico. With three teenagers I still get asked if I'm their baby sitter because I'm a brown skinned woman. These girls are gorgeous, intelligent, kind and loving and I hope they grow up as great adults.
Most African Americans don't know how to take care of our natural hair. For generations we never had to. Most of us permed, pressed, used a blow dryer, or a flat iron and straightened our hair. So now we (adult black women)are learning just like this Korean mother.
Just because you straightened your natural hair, does not mean you hate your hair or it's texture/curls. Embracing your natural hair is not about guilting people into feeling bad for straightening or relaxing their hair. Some people don't have the patience or skill to maintain their natural hair or even lack the finances to afford having someone else take care of it for them. Stop trying to police what other people do with their hair and just do you.
Vitamin Key i’m late.. but THIS! i get relaxers and all of my friends talk about how i’m only killing my hair. It’s different when someone who knows what they are doing does a perm than someone who doesn’t. i’m currently recovering from a severe chemical burn from a lady that didn’t know what she was doing (she’d leave it on for 10 mins) i always got burns when she did it. i’m glad that i’ve found someone new who actually knows what they are doing now.!
@@seoulessangel I used to perm my hair for years then my mom found out that it wasn't good for my hair or her's. So we went natural and my mom had to cut the permed part of my hair which wasn't a lot so it wasn't a big deal. What I'm trying to say you can perm but I think it could be less risky if you just straighten your hair naturally.

I love this episode It is the perfect mix of the hardships that foreigners face in south korea but also how beautiful and evolved South Korea has become of accepting foreigners especially black/african people. I loved seeing some people in the crowd dance to the African music and enjoy it. I also love the family. How they keep their spirit and faith high even in hard times. I also loved seeing the mom try and learn about the girls hair and how to take care of it instead of just trying to make it like korean hair. I would def love to see an update on them in the future :)
Gaby Barrow This is the type of hardship that any immigrant in any new country faces. I'm wondering why the mother does not make any money. Didn't she go to work in this episode? Why do they only account for the husband salary???
Wow, this is truly beautiful and touching story. I am a South African girl who recently became increasingly interested in Korean culture, and I think it's so beautiful to see South Africa meeting South Korea in such an amazing way. Lovely show indeed...and very educational. I wish Gabriel and his family all the best that life has to offer. It's so amazing how Gabriel is able to teach college students and kindergarten kids, and he captures both their attention so well. It shows he's an intelligent man. I hope he gets the permanent position he needs at the university. Thank you guys for such an amazing and insightful show. 💜💛
It's always other people who have to struggle to "accept" Black people. Rarely the other way round. As thought they are doing us a favour. It all gets so tiring, sometimes...
@@alissakauffman3727 Yup this a great way to put it. Also most parents feel extremely happy to have grandchildren regardless of who their kids get married to.
Interesting. how is the Korean population there? Are you full Korean? it's true Koreans are everywhere lol. Wouldn't have expected there too be much Koreans if any, in South Africa though.
This family is so amazing. The kids are so well educated and caring with each other. Gabriel is a really good teacher, and Jieun is also a really nice person. Even when they were talking about difficult things, like money, they didn't argue.
Maria Soares it’s the first thing I realized in this family. They don’t treat eachother like trash even in the most difficult times and even help other in need. Huge respect ✊🏻♥️
They're such a cute family. I love how their kids are very thoughtful and don't ask much from their parents. Gabriel is such a sweet man and so is his wife. I hope this family could always live happily~~~
They did a great job raising their kids .. I saw it on the way their children thinks.. They are beautiful inside and out because they grow up in a loving family 👍👍👍
This looks like a good family with good people inside it. Gabriel has an excellent sense of humor that will help their marriage stay happy and last for a long time. Stay safe.
He seems so bright, positive and kind! What a nice man! I love his sense of humour too and *he seems to be the kind of person who you want to hate but just can't because of his lovely personality.* He really is cool! I hope the family is always happy! 😊
Those girls are so cute and the boy is going to be so handsome! Look forward to seeing them make a huge difference within Korean society and beyond! Thank you sharing their story!❤👍😀
Instead of being angry at his father in laws mistreatment he worked hard to gain his respect and love and showed compassion to break down that barrier. He's a shining example of how people can come together across differences. I'm not ashamed to admit I cried multiple times watching this. You have a beautiful family Gabriel!
Awww! This is my favorite MNC's family ever! How awesome is the dad, he's such a great teacher and so loving, and I love how he never gave up on his FIL and won him over. And they have such wonderful kids. Even the baby who doesn't say much shows so much love for his sisters. I almost cried at the end too when the youngest girl got emotional over her mom finally openly expressing love to her husband. Such a loving beautiful talented family. 😄
A man who loves and takes care of this family like this man shouldn't be prejudiced against just because of his nationality or looks. I really liked how he didn't hold a grudge against his father-in-law, rather he understood where he was coming from and showed his sincerity towards him. Gabriel has such a great personality, it's not hard to see why the wife fell for him.
I remember my Korean Chemistry teacher who married a black man. They were high school sweethearts and now married with three children. They are such a sweet family.
This makes me so happy honestly. The importance of this video is overwhelming. This might be corny to say but love really has no limits and boundaries♥️
I literally shed tears of joy watching Gabriel’s relationship with his father in law. It’s soo so beautiful. I’m glad this type of stuff is on Korean TV
Gabriel is such a bright and affectionate person and I can't imagine how hard it was for him to open up to his father-in-law. It breaks my heart to see that the old Korean generational views of foreigners (and especially towards black people) is still so prevalent in Korea. We should all be accepting of everyone, regardless of their skin color or culture. Why that is still so hard in the 21st century is beyond me... I hope the best for this family. They are all so beautiful and genuine people.
I hope after Gabriel joked about his skin color with the children, he explained to them that he was from a different country, and that looking different from others is perfectly fine, and beautiful in there own way. And omgggg the brushing their hair made me cringe. I know the daughters must be so tenderheaded. I hope they can learn that their hair is beautiful the way it is without straightening it too. But I guess, in Korean culture where looking 'korean (pale skin, straight hair)' is beautiful, it will be hard. I hope nothing but the best for the cute little girls
달빛천사™ honestly it looks like it’s not even that , the double eye lids , larger eyes , high bridged nose , straight hair, it looks like a cookie cutter way of beauty standards in Korea, feel sad for them
Lo F. I was going to say that because his jokiness is a bit ott...the children need to be told that there are so many cultures, races through out the world.
I love how this father is determined to look after his own family and help his in laws. Even though the father in law didn't accept him in the beginning but glad he came around after Gabriel did his best in showing him how truly he loves his daughter. But it's a great lesson for all of us. Be happy with what you have. This family is the perfect example of the real struggle of raising a family. But the purest joy can be found in this kind of family. Everyone happy and willing to help others who are also struggling. No greater joy comes from serving one another. Their children are raised in a loving family and so great to see them care for their siblings. Money can't buy you happiness. We are all God's children and each of us are special in his sight. I admire this man very much. With so many negative things going on with African people it's hard to fit into society but he perseveres and never backs down. Hats off to you for loving your family with what you have. Some rich people have so much but still not happy. But this family is rich in everything. May God bless this family and surely do hope he gets that professor job to help his family out.♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏
I have no problem with this show and I love this family but why do they keep saying Africa I could understand for the african festival but all Africans don’t have the same culture. Infact they have very different cultures so please can they stop calling things african as a whole they are from South Africa, it’s South African culture. Would they call Indian culture korean no
Its because Africa is a continent, just like Asia is. And, Yes it is big and does have different culures. And I think its easier for the narator to group them as Africans.
So true. I felt alot of good vibes and energy from the dad. Lovely family. I hope the children will be fluent in English as well. Glad to see how much the Korean grandparents loved on their mixed grandchildren.
This is how we all human being should help each other in the society no matter where we are. Giving and receiving , this family is the perfect example on that. God bless this wonderful family.
I love this family. Gabriel is the epitome of what a husband, father and friend should be. The mom is awesome. She has to open up more. When she did open up more, the kids felt the love. The younger cried because she has never seen this side of her mom towards her dad. WOW.....

I like that they encourage their children to embrace both of the culture they belong to. The kids seem very happy and love each other. I got teary at end when the daughter was speaking of her mum showing affection to the dad. Wishing this family the very best in all your future endeavours.

thabuneni26nxaa Seriously, nothing in my statement spoke about religion. I spoke about God the creator, there are no three ways about God just one. Lol.
I don't think Shelly said about religion. Just said we are born equally but uniquely. Why are some people so sensitive about religion or God?
Joshua Kim, naa am not being sensitive, am jst giving my opinion, not everybody believes in God. If I believe in a God and I explain to somebody that doesn't that am like how I am coz of God, do u not think they will be more confused?
thabuneni26nxaa Oh well!! Life goes on.
Gabriel, you are a good man, dude. God bless you and your nice family.
He has great energy! His kids will remember their childhoods being rich with happy moments. Love this daddy!
I love this episode
It is the perfect mix of the hardships that foreigners face in south korea but also how beautiful and evolved South Korea has become of accepting foreigners especially black/african people.
Jojo Jo maybe because of the son? I don't remember seeing him going to daycare or something.
Well you all may be safer in s Korea than Africa if you are christian.
It's always other people who have to struggle to "accept" Black people. Rarely the other way round. As thought they are doing us a favour. It all gets so tiring, sometimes...
I know right. People suck
We r also not getting another perspective, that's a huge issue
I had the same thought.
Facts
It is!
it's funny how most in-laws cool down once grand-kids are involved
And parents
Right
Ikr it’s so stupid
Didn't Dave Chappelle say that the grand kids are the bridge between traditionalist views and changed thinking?
@@alissakauffman3727 Yup this a great way to put it. Also most parents feel extremely happy to have grandchildren regardless of who their kids get married to.
This was a beautiful episode.
Beautiful family.
Beautiful love.
yeah, genuinely a feel good episode
Thank you so much. Much appreciated
What a good daughters 😍 they are still Kids but they understand their parents well.. + vibe runs inside her body 👍
I’m Korean-South African (was born and raised in SA but I have Korean blood and speak Korean) so this episode was so interesting to watch❤️
Interesting. how is the Korean population there? Are you full Korean? it's true Koreans are everywhere lol. Wouldn't have expected there too be much Koreans if any, in South Africa though.
SA???
Please contact me I have lots of questions
the kids are so understanding and loving towards each other it's so precious to watch such love
The mom is good with their hair, you can tell she actually teaches them to love their hair even if she has a hard time managing it.
Stay safe.
The beautiful daughters got their dad’s bubbly personality 😂😂❤️
This family needs a reality show. They have great energy. I would be a fan and watch them. 😊
Thank you so much Jojo. That is our hope as well. Thanks again!
May God bless Gabriel, Jieun, and their family! The way they help the people around them, both relatives and students, is amazing.
Instead of being angry at his father in laws mistreatment he worked hard to gain his respect and love and showed compassion to break down that barrier. He's a shining example of how people can come together across differences. I'm not ashamed to admit I cried multiple times watching this. You have a beautiful family Gabriel!
Wow, they actually have donations on their monthly budget even with how much of a strain it is on their income. What a wonderful family ❤️
I noticed that and felt amazed!
Gabriel seems like an amazing man for helping out his neighbors
Gabriel is such a good man! His wife is blessed to have such a wonderful partner and father to her children. He’s always so positive - gotta love it.
gabriel and the father in law are so adorable omg my heart 🥺💗
This man is an angel and he is truly a blessing to the family and vise versa😭💯
This is my favorite episode for this series. Truly a blessed family💖.
Thank you so much!! much appreciated!!
Gabriel is such a sweetheart and has a pure and kind heart. Bless him 💞💞
Look at these blasian couples evolving 🙌❤
J o y it's always black male asian female never the other way round extremely rare
Gabe newell ok..??
Gabe newell they will be black females and Asian males one day. There are some in Korea, they just have to look harder
J o y it's not evolving if it's always one sided that's the point dumbass
Delante's Vlog Show true but still in reality the percentage of black female and asian male are much much less common than black male and asian female
I wish I could give this beautiful family a good chunk of a donation ($) 😭😭😭😭 the 3 babies deserve so much! My heart goes out to them!
I literally shed tears of joy watching Gabriel’s relationship with his father in law. It’s soo so beautiful. I’m glad this type of stuff is on Korean TV
South Africa finally made it on here, lol?! so proud!
You and I both!!!!! :)
TheKpopStruggle you and I and the person above me lol 😂
Why i think all south african guys are so kind !!
Yeah! Hebe reppin our flag haha!
Hola hola!!! Happy to represent !
Wow I love how Gabriel is so postive! We need more people like him he's such a great father.
달빛천사™ honestly it looks like it’s not even that , the double eye lids , larger eyes , high bridged nose , straight hair, it looks like a cookie cutter way of beauty standards in Korea, feel sad for them
Hi All. We had fun initially but we went on to learn about different countries. I think exposure is important for them. I love those kids
Lo F. I was going to say that because his jokiness is a bit ott...the children need to be told that there are so many cultures, races through out the world.
Wow I love it 😍 and I’m amazed to see my African people representing their culture in Korea I’m really happy and proud to see that 😍👏👏👏👏
Proud to represent !
May God bless this family and surely do hope he gets that professor job to help his family out.♥️♥️♥️🙏🙏🙏
Omg, when the mom was brushing her daughters's hair, I felt that in my soul
I have no problem with this show and I love this family but why do they keep saying Africa I could understand for the african festival but all Africans don’t have the same culture. Infact they have very different cultures so please can they stop calling things african as a whole they are from South Africa, it’s South African culture. Would they call Indian culture korean no
Sooo true, like i'm half moroccan and the two cultures are obvi not the same!
oh I gave up years ago, the producers of the show don't give a damn. People have complained many times
East africa 💖 I'm from a country call somali in east Africa 💙💙💙💙💙💙
south Africa 💚
west africa💜
I love.you allll my people🤗
Its because Africa is a continent, just like Asia is. And, Yes it is big and does have different culures. And I think its easier for the narator to group them as Africans.
Pleeach!! I‘m Turkish/Persian, living in Europe. What would they call me 😂?
He is a real good man. Caring for others, his family, friends, and his community.
With this whole video I felt like my faith in humanity has been restored. This was so wholesome wow!!
Their sibling's friendship is just cute.
I love this family. Gabriel is the epitome of what a husband, father and friend should be. The mom is awesome. She has to open up more. When she did open up more, the kids felt the love. The younger cried because she has never seen this side of her mom towards her dad. WOW.....
Oh my what a beautiful family! I wish this show gave financial support to their guests when they come to the show like what they do in the West. This family deserves it.
I am legit gonna cry. He is such a kind soul. My eyes are tearing up.
What a beautiful family and the husband is such a nice man!
This couple melts my heart.....the way Gabriel talk awwww......so cute....his kids are gorgeous
this was so refreshing to watch! what a beautiful and sweet family! Gabriel is a good man!! 🙏🏾❤️ I hope that koreans will continue to accept and not judge people with different backgrounds. The children are just so cute
Agreed. They're amazing people.
this is my second comment on this video and probably hundred times of me watching this episode. Overall, this show really teaches me the power of love and sacrifices. It's just amazing to know someone who loves each other that much.
this the most heartwarming family I've ever seen in this show. Gabriel is such a great father and husband. i really wish the'd finally overcome their difficulties and lvie happily ever after. I mean they deserve that :')
가브리엘씨 너무 좋은 남편, 아빠 인거 같아요~ 아이들도 너무 기특하게 잘 크고 있네요. 꼭 좋은날 올꺼에요! 화이팅!!!
너무 감사합니다 ^^
I KNOW most of the people who viewed this cried and one of those people who cried while watching was the 2.6K the liked this vid.
What a lovely blessed family. With love from South Africa
This man is such an angel i hope he is doing okay . Even tho things are hard he always does his best for his family and also helps others I LOvE HIM SO MUCH and his wife is lucky to have a man like that .
Such a lovely family. I’m so proud of the parents and their beautiful children🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾❤️🙏🏾❤️
I feel like Yerang will become an idol in the future. Arang really took the stage wow. Proud of Gabriel, as a South African I can see Ubuntu
OMG Eden is the best little human bean I've ever seen!
All three have beautiful eyes
This is the cutest family omg they just love their blackness and being Korean!! Ahhh when the hair stylist showed the girls the hair self encouraging books I almost cried! To learn that your hair and your blackness is nothing to be ashamed of and be cherished is honestly the most important and beautiful thing that these little girls need!!
Eden is the cutest boy ever!!! he really love his sisters
I like that they encourage their children to embrace both of the culture they belong to. The kids seem very happy and love each other. I got teary at end when the daughter was speaking of her mum showing affection to the dad. Wishing this family the very best in all your future endeavours.
What a beautiful family and the kids are so sweet and respectful!!! I hope Gabriel is able to get a better job so there will be less struggles for this wonderful family! The father in law accepting Gabriel touched me. How can anyone not like Gabriel though? The man has such positive energy and aura.
This is one of the most heartwarming episodes I have watched! So glad the FIL came around!!
