    Hello sir,
    Is it same in value of external feature at MMB and virtual condition ,
    For external
    MMB=MMC +G TOL
    VIRTUAL CONDITION=MMC+GTOL
    How both are effecting in assembly.

      It is slightly different. As virtual condition is about tolerances, where MMB is focusing on datums. the MMB is equal to the MMC + any applicable tolerances, however, its purpose is for setting up where your datum features are. For MMB, the datum simulator will not be in contact with the part unless it is at its MMC. Anything smaller will make the part still have additional wiggle room as it will not be fully constrained. The virtual condition on the other hand is a way of measuring tolerance and seeing if a part is going to meet its tolerance requirements using a gage. They have similar values numerically, but are asking for you to do different things.

    Hello Dr Kidd . i would like to send you a message regarding this topic of calculating MMB boundaries according to the datums . can you forward me your email?
