Yep if anybody wants durability in their bat, GM is the best. They pressed higher so bat ping is slightly compromised. But if someone wants extremely high ping in their bat they can buy SS, MRF or other brands but these bats aren't durable as GM bats. Loved this video, Waiting for you to review the 2018/19 series of GM bats. #GMFade2019
I'm nit a huge cricket fan, but I really enjoyed watching this, great 🇬🇧 British craftsmanship, people think Britain don't make stuff these days but we are the 8th biggest manufacturing country on earth and are making more and more again, I don't know if we will ever be back at number 1 spot but top 5 is hopeful. Turn your camera around to landscape! Noob
Thanks for this elaborate video. IMO , GM bats are the best looking bats "aesthetically". However, I miss the Green, Blue and white scheme of the livery, which in my opinion was a striking feature. The current line up's livery is minimalistic and it looks nice . But the older scheme was/is much more striking than the current ones. The ones used by Richard Hadlee, Desmond Haynes, Imran Khan, Steve Waugh, were my favourites. I wish GM re-introduces the Green and Blue scheme in their livery.
When we buy a cricket bat let's say GM players edition cricket bat, DO we have to knock it before we use it in an actual cricket match? the reason why I am asking is that they provide in house knocking in service. Thank you Nipunbhai.
1) Go for the best and don't worry about cost, 2) Clean willow in front, 3) 7+ straight, parallel grains, 4) lighter cleft i.e willow that is less dense which may give a big profile with less weight.
CricketMerchant I'm not sure if you asked them this in the video but the pressing is different to other batmakers and the bats sometimes much longer to open up ?
GM bats do take longer to open if the willow is not grade 1 or above. Since these clefts are climate controlled to 12% moisture it will not perform like a dry bat that provides immense rebound and cracks fast. GM wants player to play with their bat longer and once they open up, there is no looking back.
I only wished that they would have used old school making bat, Rather using CNC machine for making bat, they could have done only with *Drawknife* that's Nostalgia. CNC machine made bat sucks Only drawknife made, shaped, profiled bat are awesome
One can only appreciate the Brand if they have used their product and or if they have visited their factory. What they are doing cannot be matched with any brand out of UK.
Pathetic comment. Of course it's good, in fact it is excellent. Naturally there are other makers of cricket bats and many hand-made cricket bats. What is very important is how the maker controls many of the processes. Naturally the quality of the raw material(s) is very important too. English Willow provides the world with the best raw material for the highest performance bats (this is never in dispute).
For someone like me who loves cricket and cricket bats, this should be a treat to watch. Thanks for the treat. Cheers!
We are glad you liked it.
@@cricketmerchant What a shoddy video...:(
@@cryptomoonbuz Totally agree with you, very lousy camera work ;)
Nothing can match the old purist line up. The ones used in the 1990s and early 2000s. Especially the 1999 to 2003 line up was beautiful.
U mean only use of drawknife for making bat, no use of machine at any spot.

Hi, yes GM also recommends one to use it in nets before playing in a game. These bats do require little bit of knocking
I started getting sea-sick about halfway through.
Great content, worst camera work I've seen in my life!
Totally agree with you, very lousy camera work ;
Absolutely, and the worst commentary too. However the programme flow and content was superb.
5 stars for the guy wearing Peshawar Zalmi Jersy..
Great video what were your 5 biggest learning points so you can choose your next bat which will be a massive performer ?

From Gun and Moore, Pity what a shoody camera work. Your Brand does get affected, cos you guys donot know how to take a simple clear video.
Totally agree with you, very lousy camera work ;
Wrong way of tapping a bat edge. At. Minute 36.50
Poor video showing the public waste.
Gm not good bat
