I used to deliver rolls of fabric to a company and the owner (Indian) told me he was shocked at the workforce and how they worked for near nothing when he went to a factory he supplied the fabric to as the made clothing from the fabric. He told me some workers didnt want pay with money, they just wanted to work for 3 meals a day and worked 7 days a week. They had rice and drank water every meal. Where they lived, they didnt have electricity or gas, so no overheads (household power bills) and so didnt need money. If they needed clothes they could use material that was cut from the ends of the rolls and make clothing for themselves at the end of the day. Some of them gamble and get money that way for other stuff they need. As long as they had a job to keep themselves occupied and 3 meals a day, they were happy. I didnt know india was like that. Ihave so much respect for them for surviving the way they do and they usually work with basic tools, depending what job they do etc. Its the company bossesd that make most of the money and have cars, large houses etc. The workers merely survive.

Very interesting But: Why doesnt the paint guy wear any gloves ? Where are the floors? All i see is dirt. The upholstery guy doesn't wear any shoes and works on the floor? The workers just throw the seats on the floor . No sense of organization. Nobody ever cleans the shop ?

This is India! Poor pay, miserable working conditions. EHS is also unknown in this Factory! No eye protection, no leather gloves for handling metal, no safety footwear, disorganised and messy workshop floor, but they do deliver quality products unlike China.
