That is adorable! You have given me the confidence with this video to go ahead and finish a pile of stitched pieces I made during Covid lockdown. I thought I’d have to hand stitch them all together somehow into ornaments, which is why I was putting it off. Ugh! But what you’ve done here looks really nice. I’m definitely going to try your technique.
I love the way your Flamingo Ornament turned out. I also stitched Fa-la-la-Mingo from HOD and I got the template off of Kathy's blog. It was easy to print and cut then. Thanks for showing us how to do sooooo many things on our own. Hugs
Thank you Elizabeth! I absolutely love watching you finish your ornaments and cross stitch pieces. You make it easy for me to follow the directions. Have a great day. :) ~Kim
I finally caught up with all your Stitch-mas videos after being out of town the first week. Love watching you finish and the previous one inspired me to go thru my kitted projects!
Thank you for the tutorial you did on this project. I’m learning so much from you in these Christmas finishes you are demonstrating lately. May you have a Merry Christmas with family
Thank you for sharing! I attempted my first cross stitch ornament ... I ended up breaking a needle and gave up on it (was making a tiny pillow ornament) ... it was horrible. I'll have to try again but follow along with you. lol
Wonderful! Do I remember someone gifting you the arched template quite a while ago? Probably faulty memory (mine) and it was great that you showed us how to make our own :-). Merry Christmas!
Yes! Cindy C Stitches had sent me some wonderful pre cut templates that I was planning on using for that ornament finish and I lost them!! That is why I never FFO'd that ornament even though its been stitched for months, I kept hoping they would turn up! But oh well, I figured I'd make my own shape and show you guys how I did it!
Hi Elizabeth, Oh how beautiful your ornament is, but I have a question: you use matte board but what thickness is that? Happy holidays and an amazing 2022 Greetings, Nicolette from the Netherlands
Hi, I see cross stitchers starting many projects. I hesitate to do that too. I always finished a project before starting another. And I wonder if I starting many projects too... It's a tentation. What do you think about it ?
Just found you. So apologies if you have answered this before. Just wondering about the other supplies you are using. Such as brand of glue and cardboard backing. Beautiful finish!
@@elizabethanncanstitch thank you! I have been using a hot glue gun, but that tacky glue seems much more forgiving. I will give it a try on my next ornament!
Great job! Thanks for the ideas. I'm doing an ornament of Narwhal from Elf and was at a loss until I watched your video.
Great tutorial for finishing Flamingo. So cute!
I really like how you explain your thought process and why you do things the way you do. 👍
Glad you enjoy it!

Yes I love that she offers templates! I didn’t use the called for fabric so I just made my own!
I always learn something watching your videos. 😍
Love this finish - and especially that felt color - I’m gonna need to shop for some more felt!

Watching all your ornament finishing since I want to make ornaments this year. Do you block fabric before making ornaments

Hi Elizabeth,
Oh how beautiful your ornament is, but I have a question:
you use matte board but what thickness is that?
Happy holidays and an amazing 2022

Awesome! I'm trying to branch out from just rectangles and circles for my finishes. What thickness of mat board do you use?
Hmm I don’t know what thickness it is, like maybe the thickness of 10 pieces of paper stacked together?? 😂
@@elizabethanncanstitch Ha! That's actually perfectly helpful :)

Welcome! I use Aleens tacky glue for everything and the mat board I’m using is from Canson and I buy it in big sheets at Hobby Lobby!
@@elizabethanncanstitch thank you! I have been using a hot glue gun, but that tacky glue seems much more forgiving. I will give it a try on my next ornament!
What glue did you use for the cross stitch fabric and for the felt?
Aleen's tacky glue is what I like to use for cross stitch finishing
Do you get your Pom Pom trim online…love the gold
Yes! I buy all my pom pom and chenille from Lady Dot Creates on Etsy! That gold is called “sandy gold”
