Space Corps _is_ a better name. More importantly, they missed a huge opportunity. Navy has Seamen, Airforce has Airmen... so the demonym for members of Space Force should have been Spacemen.
Now the Real question is would the U.S.Marine Corps take on the responsibility when they get their own department or will the U.S.Space Force have it's own marines under it own department(when they leave and stop being in the Department of the Air Force). And will the Army stay relevant?
@Pathfinder576 the space force will probably get its own marines/espaciers due to how different their combat enviroment would be, with low gravity and such. And the army will remain relevant for land warfare cause they will be the only ones with heavy armor now that the US marine corps are getting rid of their tanks and tube artillery in order to specialise in Pacific Island hopping again

Hypothetical question - National Guard of every branch is supposed to cover their bases while the main branch is deployed - Meaning if the Space Force ever gets a National Guard, then they will be responsible for guarding all the ground bases once the space force gets deployed into... well, space - Does this mean the Army, Air Force and Marine Corpse are de facto the US Space Force National Guard? Similar to how Halo technically as UN Army, but they are merely plantary defense forces, while the UNSC Marine Corps is the one doing most of the warfare.

MRAPS.I'm in an area where we are building a lot of MRAPs. We're building so many of them that I see tons of them sitting in a field doing nothing. Is that government waste or is that more "strategic reserve". Are there other things like that where we have things held in reserve for an upcoming, probable conflict. (April 2027 seems to be an important time in the future)
If you live in an area where they're being produced, there's a good chance they're just waiting to be shipped out to recipients. Car factories also have huge lots full of cars seemingly rotting there but, really, they're just awaiting their ship-date. And yeah the DoD is probably producing tons of them, more than they need for current operations, because they want them to largely replace Humvees in frontline transport roles (which means they will need thousands upon thousands of them).

With talks of a space force reserve force possibly in the works, I think it’s important to mention that a space force national guard would be stupid. Only a few states have anything to do with space force and only on a few bases. So a space guard would only apply to a few states, while a reserve would allow people to join from all states and then just travel. It would help with recruitment because if I live in one state why would I join the national guard of another state, while joining the reserve this thought wouldn’t cross my mind. Also it only having a reserve would simplify promotions/slots and funding. I say all this because of course some governs would push for a guard force because it would give them more funding & control/power. Space should only be a federal affair.

That is something i never thought about but yeah a lot of soldiers in tech roles there camouflage, uniform and a lot more are are best useless at worst maybe a hindrance? I mean i feel sorry for the server room guy having to wear boots he must have to be so careful not to trip a few times a day
they do navstar. the thing i can't get over is that they are calling members "guardians". Really??? Guardians? Not "Spacers" or "Space Marines?" or literally anything else? Guild Navigators maybe? its just a restructuring of USAF either way so nothing really changed lol
