according to a recent report, this was supposed to be a 5-season series. but the budget ballooned to $250 million so they cut it short to just two seasons. but, honestly, i don't see it as a problem. Marvel Studios literally spends $100+ million almost every year for each film/series ._.

Like I said above, I think they are handling it well so I dont mind it, probably because thats how they intended to tell the story from the start, but to me it does feel like we're moving at mach 10.
damn, finished 1-3 episodes in one sitting and i need the 6 episodes more!! hahaha what i love is the slow tease of introducing upcoming evolution of certain characters... also again, the animation is chefs kiss on this one, the song choice, the dialogues, everything is so good!! and the toned down version of heavy is the crown is a well done song too...i hope they release the full version of it and so are the others...

This show is top 5 ever for me, writing, dialogue, storytelling, character building, and an excellent soundtrack that fits in every part of the show. GOAT status for me

The mom did this on purpose. I'm calling it. To come at the end, save them and fire them up more to attack. And she successid. The smile she gave to Catlin was like: "I know I can use this girl's fire for my benefit."
Jinx didn't go unscathed after setting that bomb off. She almost died. She had to undergo extensive surgery and tons of shimmer being pumped through her veins. A missle aimed straight towards Mel and Jace and both haven't a scratch on them is very unrealistic for this series.

Great first episode. So happy Mel is still alive, really curious what her secret is cause there’s no way she and Jayce walked away unscratched without something magical intervening. My one critique is that they seem to be saying the attack happened and that exact same day Jayce whipped up all that new tech, Vi joined the enforcers, and Vander 2.0 not only befriended her but he also joined up. It’s a bit much.
watch the last scene of s1 ep9 again; the gold shimmer that passed across mel’s shoulders from the plating makes me think she had some sort of protection. they wouldn’t put that there for no reason.

For anyone bothered by how much happens every episode, it's just snappy pacing. NO wasted scenes or dialogue whatsoever. Literally every single thing in the show is fully intentional and reasoned, from blocking to animation to editing to dialogue to music to color choices, etc... Arcane is ALL about economy of storytelling. They're just more confident this season, more able to address more locations and characters and storylines on a technical and logistical level now that Fortiche and the writers have found their groove.
I wish that reactors in a group setting would keep their theories to themselves, because it ruins the surprise for the others. You end up putting an idea out there that otherwise would have come as a complete surprise.
Yeah. People keep thinking its a dissociative identity disorder instead of a psychosis but that's completely wrong. Multiple personalities would not be aware of each other and would not share the same memories. Powder and Jinx are the same person and we saw her hallucinations in the intro on the bridge of the first episode already. She's always been troubled and the PTSD from her killing her entire family on top of that just broke her.
Nuclear bombs are literally made to kill and destroy an enormous area indiscriminately. Not the same as mining and transportation equipment (even if they're comically dangerous). Of course, the first nuclear reactor was created in 1942, so I'm guessing that's what they meant. The Manhattan project people literally began working on the bomb the same year.
Not sure how I feel about this season with them using the Sc*entology cult band now as well... Imagine Dragons was meh musically but this is on a whole another level of morals now. 8:21 They're the same person. I wonder if Mel is maybe born with arcane powers, without knowing it, and sort of intuitively used those powers to shield herself from the missile. Singed unfortunately got spoiled for me in the comments. :/

And also as much as it sucks, Cait was an ADULT when she lost her mother. She got to live with her mom, experience her, her mom got to grow *old*. Vi doesn’t have that.

Singed "as in burned/scorched" may be a little deranged but has he ever lied or not helped those in need of answers? No. He is essentially the base-level truth of nature, just wanting to evolve. It essentially makes him label-less, and yet the most unpredictable force in this series. He also has some lore that makes him sympathy-worthy, and also extremely dangerous... so not too different than most characters in the show. ;)
Victor asked the doctor because he grew up with him...hello He's not deranged at all. He's progressing science. Victor understood that on that visit. Michael is sometimes to over the top for me. I prefer him on more serious reactions where he gas to chill.

after this season ends, you guys should look at the characters in the game too see how they look ingame.
Jinx didn't go unscathed after setting that bomb off. She almost died. She had to undergo extensive surgery and tons of shimmer being pumped through her veins. A missle aimed straight towards Mel and Jace and both haven't a scratch on them is very unrealistic for this series.
The theory is that Mel has magic.
Probably Mel is the explanation for that.. why would u focus on that golden simbol/thing.. on his back if u haven't planed her to survive.
im sure it would be explained in future episodes, either mel protected them or viktor body reacted with the hextech in jinx's bazooka and it did something

Great first episode. So happy Mel is still alive, really curious what her secret is cause there’s no way she and Jayce walked away unscratched without something magical intervening. My one critique is that they seem to be saying the attack happened and that exact same day Jayce whipped up all that new tech, Vi joined the enforcers, and Vander 2.0 not only befriended her but he also joined up. It’s a bit much.
To be fair Vander 2.0 already was an enforcer based on his jacket.
watch the last scene of s1 ep9 again; the gold shimmer that passed across mel’s shoulders from the plating makes me think she had some sort of protection. they wouldn’t put that there for no reason.

@ that’s fair and I wish they gave him some lines of dialogue or more clearly showed him sided with Vi over Caitlyn but the show only has so much time.
For anyone bothered by how much happens every episode, it's just snappy pacing. NO wasted scenes or dialogue whatsoever. Literally every single thing in the show is fully intentional and reasoned, from blocking to animation to editing to dialogue to music to color choices, etc... Arcane is ALL about economy of storytelling.
They're just more confident this season, more able to address more locations and characters and storylines on a technical and logistical level now that Fortiche and the writers have found their groove.

Yeah. People keep thinking its a dissociative identity disorder instead of a psychosis but that's completely wrong. Multiple personalities would not be aware of each other and would not share the same memories. Powder and Jinx are the same person and we saw her hallucinations in the intro on the bridge of the first episode already. She's always been troubled and the PTSD from her killing her entire family on top of that just broke her.

Ok no Caitlyn does not understand. Yes Caitlyn’s mom died but it is not the same as what Vi and Jinx went through.
Most importantly she wasn't asked to join the organization that killed her mother. That's the most important difference between the two.
And also as much as it sucks, Cait was an ADULT when she lost her mother. She got to live with her mom, experience her, her mom got to grow *old*. Vi doesn’t have that.
She does understand. She watched her mother get killed just like Vi did hers.

Singed "as in burned/scorched" may be a little deranged but has he ever lied or not helped those in need of answers? No. He is essentially the base-level truth of nature, just wanting to evolve. It essentially makes him label-less, and yet the most unpredictable force in this series. He also has some lore that makes him sympathy-worthy, and also extremely dangerous... so not too different than most characters in the show. ;)
