The thing you guys missed with "The Gray" is that Caitlyn's family helped "contain" it and in the begining of the episode they show as a graphic novel how Cait uses "The Gray" as a weapon to sweap the streets as they hunt down Jinx... Jinx even calls it out to Vi and she defends herself as to say they were doing for the good of the people.

@@Kat-qf7ovactually what Jinx did wasn’t a war crime…. In fact given the political set up and obvious xenophobia between pilot er and Zaun it would actually be an act of rebellion or revolution. The fireflies were shown doing terroristic acts in the previous season. Not killing doesn’t mean it wasn’t terrorism. Jinx shot because of what Caitlin and Vi did couples with Silcos influence and her fragile mind. Jinx was literally a creation of the conditions of the underground created by various groups stemming from piltovers nonsense. Based on the previous season and what was presented here she literally only killed 3 council members who were present and MAYBE some of the Npc guards in the room????? Which weren’t many……. And given the damage to the room though they all should have died or had more serious injuries but I digress….
Anger gives you strength but overshadows reasoning. And this is why Cait, despite being an exemplary shot, missed her second shot and only got Jinx's finger because she was filled with rage and was chaotic and not calm in her stature.
Good catch. Her saying "I won't miss" after Vi confronted her about shooting despite the child shielding Jinx basically cements that her morals were already clouded. She could've killed Jinx while she was fighting Vi but she missed. If she made her shot with the kid and Jinx, she would've shot through the kid before killing Jinx. Her morals have been clouded and she can't even see it herself.
@@idiosyncrasy7703 I agree with everything other than that Cait would have missed the shot. When she hit Jinx's hand, it was a much more difficult shot (mid combat with Vi) than her just laying down not moving (the kid was on top of her not even blocking Cait's view of Jinx's head).
@@TheSilenthvok whilst that it entirely fair and true, we've seen her hit far more difficult shots in even more intense situations, like episode one of this season, she shot one of the super junkies mid stab to redirect his hand from stabbing Vi. Realistically she could've killed Jinx... but she missed.
@@KingFrazzz Honestly, there are quite a few factors to consider. When she did that, the most that had happened to her prior (physically) was being shoved and held against a wall. Also she likely wasn't particularly emotionally unstable (because she wasn't face to face with Jinx). When she shot Jinx's hand, she had just gotten out of a fairly intense fight with Sevika and was stumbling toward Jinx. Now not physically stable and likely not emotionally stable either. Then she accurately hits the kid's gun. IMO it boils down to I don't think she was so unstable (physically nor emotionally) as to miss such an immensely easy shot for her standards. I feel like I just wrote an essay 😆
The way they explain how runes are used to cast spells is brilliantly said. Like writing code for a computer can command it to do what you want, the runes command the arcane to do what you want. But wild runes are more like using grunts and sounds to communicate with someone, it might not get the message across exactly as you wanted but it will get it done, and in a likely powerful way.
Yeah, especially when like, sorry to Caitlyn ofc she is allowed to mourn her mother but like…her mom had it coming, she actively participated in the suffering of the people in the under-city, Caitlyn really isn’t justified in what she’s doing. When Ambessa chose Caitlyn, that was such a powerful moment even though it wasn't for good purpose but knowing her character i knew what was coming, instead of choosing the puppet who's easy to control she chose the powerful character she knows she can use her anger and she knows Caitlyn has lots of potential, that was badass moment
She’s also really good at reading people and understanding hidden motives. Ambessa would’ve chosen Salo if not for the fact that he was overpowered in a simple conversation by Caitlyn. Being the manipulative person that she was she saw Caitlyn’s desperation and downward spiral same as Vi and Mel and chose to take advantage of it.

Amazing detail that when Ambessa entered Salo's room after kicking out the massage girl, she saw the drop of the potion and immediately knew that he been cused/drug by the cat woman and would be no use so she switched to Caitlyn instead
Remember episode 8 when Jayce kills Renni's kid and Vi doesn't care because there are "a hundred more like him". Remember in the same episodes when Vi is petitioning the council to go to war with zaun because she wants to get silco but cait is saying that there are innocent people living there who'll get harmed in the crossfire. Seeing the role reversal and the parallels to the first season is so good.
Don’t think it’s necessary a role reversal as Vi is still attacking Zaun and is totally fine with releasing poisonous gas on ‘her’ people. I think she only stopped the shot of the child because she was there to witness the harm she’s done first hand. But agreed this series is living up to the first so far
Vi did care for the kid. She didn’t wanted to show her vulnerability because she felt like she needed to stay strong in order to go after Silco. When Jayce left, she looked at the kid with grief and then headed her way. I thought about this initially until I rewatched the 1st season.

The black rose being interested in Mel confirms my theory that she is either hiding the fact that she is a mage, doesnt know but has magical power within her, or is in posession of an enchanted artifact. Possibly the gold plating on her skin. Whatever it is protected her and Jayce from Jinx's rocket.
I think it would make more sense if they captured her to put pressure on Ambessa. She said herself that "they have no idea of much family means to her", so they will probably use Mel to negociate something since her daughter is her only weak point
@@oxigety My personal take is that they were after Mel the entire time. Ambessa's "my family means to me" probably refers to her not giving up Mel to the Black Rose. She also said something about her son already being dead, hinting that the Black Rose wants to take her only living family left, not her.

The primary objective of the black rose is to collect magically gifted people surrounding Noxis to train and develop into weapons that could potentially face Mordekaizer. Whatever Ambessa stole must have had power attached to it and the Black rose mistakenly took the son thinking he had it with him (or within him). Mel seems completely unaware of any of this.
I wish more people should point out that eye contact given between Jinx and Vi when Isha was clinging onto Jinx. It was such a split moment, but it was one that spoke a hundred words
and now the scientist has left, turned into a magical messiah,,, thankfully jayce will have ekko and heimer with him, 2 of the best scientists so maybe they'll figure out a way to solve the wild rune's of the arcane problem
Not a lot of people are talking about it but Jayce is about to have the one of biggest crash outs. He lost Cassandra (second mother figure/one of his biggest supporters for hextech), emotionally lost Viktor his bestfriend/brother/partner and now Mel is kidnapped and she’s basically become his anchor.
Caitlyns feelings are justified, her actions are not. She's a great shot. But she could still have hit the kid. And even then, shooting someone with a hextech rifle in the head as she's hugged by a child is cruel. The kid would be traumatized for life. And as another comment pointed out, Cait did miss. She hit Jinx's finger, not her head. She had a shot and missed. "If you do this, the cycle of violence will never stop" is what Caitlyn said to Ekko when he wanted to use Hextech to fight back. Yet here she is, willing to blow someones head to pieces within inches of a child and risking hitting said child. I symphasize with her pain but she's acting horrendous. Worse than the council was before.
She also didn't need to miss to kill the kid. The child was hugging Jinx and her head was right next to Jinx's head. The bullet would have gotten both of them.

Cait and Vi had their first kiss and broke up a second time in the same episode. I totally get why, but it still hurts!😭 It hurts even more seeing Cait starting to go down a dark path.
Many draw parallels with that scene and are similar in nothing other than the feeling of pain. Outside of that, Vi realized she was doing harm and left to calm down, Caitlyn just walk away knowing that the job is done. They don't look alike at all xD

Mel’s mom pivoted, they said as much earlier that the guy she was manipulating wasn’t ready. She saw Cait put her foot down in episode 1 so she saw what she wanted from a person.
Keep in mind too, Jinx shouted "No, that's not how this is supposed to..." when Sevika activated the fans. I don't think she really wanted to unleash it, at least not just randomly.

I think Jinx wants to die at the time by Vi. And then after she's dead, Sevika will then release the the gasses for her last laugh. But the kid showed up so, she ended up saving her and all her plans goes to ruin.

@@agnesedaughter8808 Even IF she shot the finger on purpose (which doesn't make sense since Jinx's head was also a clear shot and not moving as fast as her hand but whatever) the way Isha (the kid) was hugging Jinx, it would be impossible for her to ONLY hit Jinx, maybe if she shot Jinx on the ribs, but even then i'm sure Cait was aiming for the head, and Isha had her/his head on Jinx's shoulder, sure it was on the other side but a Hextech shot would have pierced them both easily and hit the stone wall behind them. Cait was blinded by anger, she would have missed the shot.
In my mind, it feels like (ever since what happened with Vander) Jinx's plans are always to die in a spectacular way, but she keeps getting foiled and making things worse.
Caitlyn lashing out at Vi has got to be one of the hardest moments to watch. She is so caught up in her vengeance that she is hurting the innocent people caught in the crossfire heck she’s pushing away the ONE person who can understand what’s she going through. By the end of it all, she’s playing right into Ambessa’s hands and I am beyond terrified to see where Act 2 takes us

Imo Vi's argument had nothing to do with Cait being a perfect shot. Cait didn't care at all even if she hit the kid. That kid was hugging Jinx from the chest up. Any lethal shot would've went through the kid to get to Jinx. So Cait saying "I won't miss" was her saying "I won't miss Jinx, even if the kid's in the way". She was still shooting shots even when Vi was in front of her and would've taken out Vi's hand if not for the gauntlets blocking the shot. She wants revenge and she'll get it one way or another. She's not being objective nor empathetic at all. She's angry and her morals are clouded and her accepting Ambessa's promotion cements that fact.
Exactly what I said. She'd already missed the kill shot once and only got a finger. She definitely had more of a probability of missing again in her state of mind. I think Vi felt betrayed because a kid made her hesitate for the child's welfare, but Cait didn't hesitate at all.
She could've taken the kid away, if she wanted to she could've had jinx dead and the kid safe , she wavered about Jinx too, the kid was just convenient. Cait however as crazy as she was actually making effort a little more, she shot the weapons instead of the kid, she shot VI so she wouldn't kill the kid by shooting Jinx head. it is morally wrong to take a shot like that but she would've succeed and now she gonna go to the deep end and VI knows that it's her fault

Honestly i can't see this ending with Ambessa not dying, knowing LeBlanc's reputation and so on, but then again, Ambessa's now a champion so idk how would that turn out.

Vi did the right thing. There was no way to know for sure if Caitlyn would have missed that kid. And Caitlyn just honestly pissed me off. Like shes got some nerve to treat Vi like that.
I'm 100% on Cait's side. She's pissed and wants to kill jinx. She would never have missed the shot. She has a perfect aim. Getting Jinx's finger, the gun from the kid. Vi was just in the way. imo.

But, the kid was "blocking" any shot above Jinx's hips. Her head was on jinx's shoulder, so shooting in the head would kill them both, and hitting Jinx's heart was also not viable from that angle.

That's what I'm saying. That kid was basically blocking any lethal shot (brain/heart) that Cait could take. Her saying "I won't miss" was just trying to justify that trying to kill Jinx would justify any collateral damage she might cause. It's weird to see people in the comments defending someone who's completely consumed by revenge when the show explicitly tells us that Cait is so angry she's willing to join hands with Ambessa, a noxian warmonger that Mel warns everybody about.

She was willing to risk harming both the kid, and a fellow officer (Vi) just to take down Jinx. Did we not see her continue to fire shots despite Vi standing in front of her? If not for the gauntlets, her second shot would've taken out Vi's hand, the kid and then killed Jinx. If she's willing to mow down people just to satisfy her goal, then she's no different than Jinx, the person she's trying to bring to justice. That's the entire point of that scene and the succeeding argument after. Caitlyn had the gall to lump the sisters together, telling Vi that Jinx' blood is in her veins, when in reality Caitlyn is acting more like Jinx than Vi. A bloodthirsty kid who wants nothing more than to get revenge, even at the cost of other people's lives.

Goodness sge is so smart (i love her) truly if she wanted a puppet she would have chosen Salo he is easy but she values strength and Caitlyn proved it when she walked into the council room and took her place something that she was trying to teach Mel in the 1st season ( all her actions are caluclated risk)
I don't think that it's because Ambessa values strength. I think, initially, she wanted to Salo to be the puppet, but (as you said) Caitlyn sort of changed that plan. I think it was at that moment that she realized a few things: 1. Caitlyn had the ability and drive to be a powerful leader (and therefore a threat) 2. Caityln showed greater potential in manipulation because she was doing some VERY strong moves and was very-much driven by revenge (which is easy to manipulate) and 3. by placing the de facto leader of the Enforcers and one of the wealthiest families in Piltover on your side, you effectively make everyone else unify around them and therefore under you control (remember the small scene with Maddie and how much influence the Kiramens have over the Piltover enforcers?). It's by far a very smart move. Does it have risks, given how smart and strong a leader Caitlyn could be? Yes, but given how desperate Ambessa is, this move was the most likely to ensure it would succeed.
Pay attention to the words she is using in her speech. Also, Salo is more susceptible to corruption than Caitlyn. Ambessa wants the conflict to escalate. Who better than Caitlyn? She has the proper motive. For Salo, it's greed. In Ambessa's eyes, that's a weaker drive.
I knew Michael will abstain from saying anything about what might happen to Viktor as he played the game before. The thing with Arcane's story is Riot Games is trying to recreate the old lore but still respecting it. Also, I just want to put one of the Champion's (character) lines in the game about the Black Rose... "The Black Rose shall bloom once more"
The turmeric issue was a drought that caused the root to be less vibrant so the farmers colored their product with a lead based paint. The drought ended but the practice continued because people expected the yellow color and it would sell better
She missed there because she was stumbling after fighting off sevika and jinx was moving. I guarantee you she would not have any chance of missing jinx when she was laying there pinned down. Kid or no

Stopping your girlfriend from getting revenge for her mother will obviously make her feel angry, sad and betrayed.

I'm sorry but Vi has done everything to help Cait only to be told she has "bad blood". Vi joined the enforcers for Cait, the people who murdered her parents and had a hand in Vander's fate. How do you think Cait would have reacted if Vi asked her to go fight for the underground or Jinx. Cait's anger is blinding her here, she only cares about 1 thing, killing Jinx. She's so set in her revenge that she's out here committing war crimes and tearing the underworld apart to find Jinx. I am so excited but also so worried about Cait's fascism arc.
Very good points. Cait isn't listening to or caring about how difficult any of this has been on Vi, and in fact is explicitly undercutting everything Vi's done to try and help Cait get to Jinx. Imagine if Vi had asked Cait to join the undercity and follow her on a mission to capture or kill Jayce, to halt the production of Hextech for good? Do you think Cait would have agreed? Caitlyn is no longer acting out of her desire to understand and see the truth, she's seeing what she wants to see and ignoring or attacking anything that isn't fueling her desire for vengeance.
i wonder if these guys will ever react to league of legends cinematic at some point..because it seems they are really interested in the lore...hope they will or someone will guide them through all the cinematics...

Ambessa (Mel's mom) didn't plan out everything. She took advantage of opportunities given to her. The Council being bombed was not part of the plan. But she used it to get in a good position with that one Councilor. The attack on the memorial was her plan but she used people from Zaun who already wanted to kill the Council and were likely planning retaliation to do it. She saw that Caitlyn was eager to act aggressively and that's when she switched sides from that one councilor to Caitlyn. The coup was planned. But not everything leading up to the coup was planned. The gas attack by Jinx was coincidental but gave Ambessa another opportunity to use people's anger for her own ends.
When it was pre ventilation system, the Zaunites got mostly aoccustomed to it. So is a neat detail is that you'll notice older Zaunites don't cough as much or seem as effected.
After watching so many reaction videos. I realise that Ambessa chose Caitlyn because it was Mels idea. Remember in Mel flashback in S1 she spoke about choosing a figure head that can be easiky manipulated.

The way NO one is mentioning the DAMN JINX VS vi fight… HELLO. Can we talk about it!!!! 😢 It felt like a sister fight rather than a killer fight. They both held back! If you pause and see them fighting in the background scenes. They’re literally sibling fighting.🤣 Like if I was Cait and fighting with Sevika and looked over to see Vi and Jinx almost play fight. I would be SEEETHING. 🤣 you see me? Dictator villain arc. That would’ve been my 13th 🤣

Caitlyn shooting at Jinx was going to risk isha’s life no matter what. Vi had the right idea to stop her
Also “her mom died” is not an excuse for war crimes. Imagine all the children of the underground who lost their parents to Piltover and years of oppression. But Caitlyn has the privilege to do something about her mom and makes it everyone’s problem.

That was the *stated* mission. I don't think Cait has ever had any intention of bringing her in alive, we saw her fantasizing about killing her back in the first episode. And she's only gotten more frustrated and more driven since then.

They really gave my girl the Dictator Cape(TM). Damn. And I'm sure there's no parallel being made to the third episode of season 1 with someone lashing out and knocking the other to the ground, having a brief moment of regret before the first person walks away from the other and leaves them crying on their knees. Nope. I'm sure that's all just one big coincidence. I'm the writers of this show would never do something so evil. Salo really made sure that he never got control of Ambessa's army when he mentioned how powerful the Kirammans were. So looking forward to Ambessa weaponizing Cait's anger and grief by turning her into the wolf she always wanted Mel to be. She really looked at Cait's mom dying and said "free real estate." No but seriously, I'm so excited for Caitlyn's downward spiral. My favorite thing about Cait in the first season was her compassion and ability to empathize. Now, I'm very interested to see what she can hold onto, and what it'll take to get her to start clawing her way back up.
So the Black Rose got introduce with leader LeBlanc - 1000 years old incredibly powerful mage, that even the Black Rose don't know is the leader :) She is everywhere all at once through her agents/clones and can take possession of them. Has infiltrated most of the governments and was there when Noxus was first founded and has been manipulating events for centuries.
I disagree that Cait couldn't have missed. I think she just didn't care. Cait wouldn't have missed if she was calm, and stable, she is anything but right now. She missed Jinx's head when she shot her finger, and she's clearly rattled in that situation. She would've killed the kid along with Jinx and she didn't care, Vi stopping her was the right call.
What a twist! Ambessa Medarda to use Cait's anger and vengeance. Its very unpredictable even I, a League of Legends player didn't predict it. I thought Ambessa will be the one to lead.

People would be less accepting if she's the one making the shots. Caitlyn on the other hand is from a well-known house, and the people still have empathy for her because of her mother's death. Using her as a puppet leader is such a good move from Ambessa.
People need to realize Caitlyn isn't justified. Jinx and Vi have lost everything, Zaunites in general have lost way more than Caitlyn has yet no one isn't going to sit here and say they are right for risking a child's safety.
I find it interesting and such a cool call back that in s1 Ambessa speaking to Jace, she speaks of a General who was killed by essentially listening to the whispers of everyone around him and in that scene she does not whisper in his ear, she speaks at her regular volume, but to Caitlin she whispers in her ear.

About what they said about episode 3 compared to episode 3 of season 1. I don't think we should view it as episode 3 of act 1 of season 2. I think it should be viewed as episode 3 of act 4 of of one overall show.
The fumes were introduced in the first season, when Silco had Sevika release that canister in the Baron's house and intimidated them. It is brilliant how they give very slow, subtle reveals that seem meaningless until fully introduced later. The other interesting, very important plot point is that Jinx didn't want Sevika to release the fumes. It could easily be missed, but she wasn't the villain in that moment.
Ambesa described this exact thing to Mel that the best way to rule in a crisis is to do it through a pawn that thinks like you but thinks they are making the thoughts up on their own
what scares Ambessa is a thousands of years old witch that is practically immortal and one of the strongest characters in Runeterra. That arc is pretty interesting it involves pretty much 3 characters, god level powers and imprisonment. That's all I'm going to say
Dang I knew that the mom was behind all that stuff that was happening with the attacks. She seemed like the type of character that would do that to get what she wants. This just keeps getting better and better. Enjoyed the reaction 👍👍✌ out.
The thing you guys missed with "The Gray" is that Caitlyn's family helped "contain" it and in the begining of the episode they show as a graphic novel how Cait uses "The Gray" as a weapon to sweap the streets as they hunt down Jinx... Jinx even calls it out to Vi and she defends herself as to say they were doing for the good of the people.

Jinx shot because of what Caitlin and Vi did couples with Silcos influence and her fragile mind. Jinx was literally a creation of the conditions of the underground created by various groups stemming from piltovers nonsense.
Based on the previous season and what was presented here she literally only killed 3 council members who were present and MAYBE some of the Npc guards in the room????? Which weren’t many……. Good catch. Her saying "I won't miss" after Vi confronted her about shooting despite the child shielding Jinx basically cements that her morals were already clouded. She could've killed Jinx while she was fighting Vi but she missed. If she made her shot with the kid and Jinx, she would've shot through the kid before killing Jinx. Her morals have been clouded and she can't even see it herself.

Realistically she could've killed Jinx... but she missed.
@@KingFrazzz Honestly, there are quite a few factors to consider. When she did that, the most that had happened to her prior (physically) was being shoved and held against a wall. Also she likely wasn't particularly emotionally unstable (because she wasn't face to face with Jinx).
When she shot Jinx's hand, she had just gotten out of a fairly intense fight with Sevika and was stumbling toward Jinx. Now not physically stable and likely not emotionally stable either. Then she accurately hits the kid's gun.
IMO it boils down to I don't think she was so unstable (physically nor emotionally) as to miss such an immensely easy shot for her standards.

The way they explain how runes are used to cast spells is brilliantly said. Like writing code for a computer can command it to do what you want, the runes command the arcane to do what you want. But wild runes are more like using grunts and sounds to communicate with someone, it might not get the message across exactly as you wanted but it will get it done, and in a likely powerful way.

She’s also really good at reading people and understanding hidden motives. Ambessa would’ve chosen Salo if not for the fact that he was overpowered in a simple conversation by Caitlyn. Being the manipulative person that she was she saw Caitlyn’s desperation and downward spiral same as Vi and Mel and chose to take advantage of it.

Remember episode 8 when Jayce kills Renni's kid and Vi doesn't care because there are "a hundred more like him". Remember in the same episodes when Vi is petitioning the council to go to war with zaun because she wants to get silco but cait is saying that there are innocent people living there who'll get harmed in the crossfire. Seeing the role reversal and the parallels to the first season is so good.
Yeah I have seen people complain about how they made Caitlyn "evil" in S2, but she is just basically doing the same as Vi was in S1.
Don’t think it’s necessary a role reversal as Vi is still attacking Zaun and is totally fine with releasing poisonous gas on ‘her’ people. I think she only stopped the shot of the child because she was there to witness the harm she’s done first hand. But agreed this series is living up to the first so far
Vi did care for the kid. She didn’t wanted to show her vulnerability because she felt like she needed to stay strong in order to go after Silco. When Jayce left, she looked at the kid with grief and then headed her way. I thought about this initially until I rewatched the 1st season.

The black rose being interested in Mel confirms my theory that she is either hiding the fact that she is a mage, doesnt know but has magical power within her, or is in posession of an enchanted artifact. Possibly the gold plating on her skin. Whatever it is protected her and Jayce from Jinx's rocket.
I think it would make more sense if they captured her to put pressure on Ambessa. She said herself that "they have no idea of much family means to her", so they will probably use Mel to negociate something since her daughter is her only weak point
I suspect LeBlanc will take the place of Mel. The shadowy figure in the trailers looked like both LeBlanc and Mel.

She also said something about her son already being dead, hinting that the Black Rose wants to take her only living family left, not her.

I wish more people should point out that eye contact given between Jinx and Vi when Isha was clinging onto Jinx. It was such a split moment, but it was one that spoke a hundred words

Not a lot of people are talking about it but Jayce is about to have the one of biggest crash outs. He lost Cassandra (second mother figure/one of his biggest supporters for hextech), emotionally lost Viktor his bestfriend/brother/partner and now Mel is kidnapped and she’s basically become his anchor.
Poor guy is really going through it. Depends whether that leaves him vulnerable to Ambessa (if that's her name) or whether he'll see through her.
I thinking session 2 he getting backside because in session 1 he's storyline is very strong but so fair session 2 he didn't get much sences
Caitlyns feelings are justified, her actions are not. She's a great shot. But she could still have hit the kid. And even then, shooting someone with a hextech rifle in the head as she's hugged by a child is cruel. The kid would be traumatized for life. And as another comment pointed out, Cait did miss. She hit Jinx's finger, not her head. She had a shot and missed.
"If you do this, the cycle of violence will never stop" is what Caitlyn said to Ekko when he wanted to use Hextech to fight back. Yet here she is, willing to blow someones head to pieces within inches of a child and risking hitting said child.
I symphasize with her pain but she's acting horrendous. Worse than the council was before.
She also didn't need to miss to kill the kid. The child was hugging Jinx and her head was right next to Jinx's head. The bullet would have gotten both of them.

Imo Vi's argument had nothing to do with Cait being a perfect shot. Cait didn't care at all even if she hit the kid. That kid was hugging Jinx from the chest up. Any lethal shot would've went through the kid to get to Jinx. So Cait saying "I won't miss" was her saying "I won't miss Jinx, even if the kid's in the way".
She was still shooting shots even when Vi was in front of her and would've taken out Vi's hand if not for the gauntlets blocking the shot. She wants revenge and she'll get it one way or another. She's not being objective nor empathetic at all. She's angry and her morals are clouded and her accepting Ambessa's promotion cements that fact.
Vi actually prevented Caitlyn from descending into more guilt and regret if she took that shot and killed the kid.

Vi did the right thing. There was no way to know for sure if Caitlyn would have missed that kid. And Caitlyn just honestly pissed me off. Like shes got some nerve to treat Vi like that.

But, the kid was "blocking" any shot above Jinx's hips. Her head was on jinx's shoulder, so shooting in the head would kill them both, and hitting Jinx's heart was also not viable from that angle.

If Caitlyn had shot she would have killed the kid those bullets are powerful and the kids head was literally on both sides of jinx’s face first her head was first when she jumped on her then when jinx tries to pull her off it’s on the other side of her head
That's what I'm saying. That kid was basically blocking any lethal shot (brain/heart) that Cait could take. Her saying "I won't miss" was just trying to justify that trying to kill Jinx would justify any collateral damage she might cause.
It's weird to see people in the comments defending someone who's completely consumed by revenge when the show explicitly tells us that Cait is so angry she's willing to join hands with Ambessa, a noxian warmonger that Mel warns everybody about.

Isn't Jinx her objective also? It almost looked like she was relieved she had an excuse to stop Cait from shooting. After all, she was reluctant even before the kid showed up. If it was Sevika stopping Cait from shooting was Vi going to stop Cait? No. It was a kid, but that kid saw no problems pulling the trigger to Vi's face! Not saying she should have killed the child, but that if Vi was really on board of the mission, no matter what or who was the obstacle, she should have just tackled them out of the way.

She was willing to risk harming both the kid, and a fellow officer (Vi) just to take down Jinx. Did we not see her continue to fire shots despite Vi standing in front of her? If not for the gauntlets, her second shot would've taken out Vi's hand, the kid and then killed Jinx. If she's willing to mow down people just to satisfy her goal, then she's no different than Jinx, the person she's trying to bring to justice.
That's the entire point of that scene and the succeeding argument after. Caitlyn had the gall to lump the sisters together, telling Vi that Jinx' blood is in her veins, when in reality Caitlyn is acting more like Jinx than Vi. A bloodthirsty kid who wants nothing more than to get revenge, even at the cost of other people's lives.

Goodness sge is so smart (i love her) truly if she wanted a puppet she would have chosen Salo he is easy but she values strength and Caitlyn proved it when she walked into the council room and took her place something that she was trying to teach Mel in the 1st season ( all her actions are caluclated risk)
I don't think that it's because Ambessa values strength. I think, initially, she wanted to Salo to be the puppet, but (as you said) Caitlyn sort of changed that plan. I think it was at that moment that she realized a few things: 1. Caitlyn had the ability and drive to be a powerful leader (and therefore a threat) 2. Caityln showed greater potential in manipulation because she was doing some VERY strong moves and was very-much driven by revenge (which is easy to manipulate) and 3. by placing the de facto leader of the Enforcers and one of the wealthiest families in Piltover on your side, you effectively make everyone else unify around them and therefore under you control (remember the small scene with Maddie and how much influence the Kiramens have over the Piltover enforcers?).
It's by far a very smart move. Does it have risks, given how smart and strong a leader Caitlyn could be? Yes, but given how desperate Ambessa is, this move was the most likely to ensure it would succeed.
Pay attention to the words she is using in her speech. Also, Salo is more susceptible to corruption than Caitlyn. Ambessa wants the conflict to escalate. Who better than Caitlyn? She has the proper motive. For Salo, it's greed. In Ambessa's eyes, that's a weaker drive.
I knew Michael will abstain from saying anything about what might happen to Viktor as he played the game before. The thing with Arcane's story is Riot Games is trying to recreate the old lore but still respecting it.

I'm sorry but Vi has done everything to help Cait only to be told she has "bad blood". Vi joined the enforcers for Cait, the people who murdered her parents and had a hand in Vander's fate. How do you think Cait would have reacted if Vi asked her to go fight for the underground or Jinx. Cait's anger is blinding her here, she only cares about 1 thing, killing Jinx. She's so set in her revenge that she's out here committing war crimes and tearing the underworld apart to find Jinx. I am so excited but also so worried about Cait's fascism arc.
Very good points. Cait isn't listening to or caring about how difficult any of this has been on Vi, and in fact is explicitly undercutting everything Vi's done to try and help Cait get to Jinx. Imagine if Vi had asked Cait to join the undercity and follow her on a mission to capture or kill Jayce, to halt the production of Hextech for good? Do you think Cait would have agreed? Caitlyn is no longer acting out of her desire to understand and see the truth, she's seeing what she wants to see and ignoring or attacking anything that isn't fueling her desire for vengeance.

Ambessa (Mel's mom) didn't plan out everything. She took advantage of opportunities given to her. The Council being bombed was not part of the plan. But she used it to get in a good position with that one Councilor. The attack on the memorial was her plan but she used people from Zaun who already wanted to kill the Council and were likely planning retaliation to do it. She saw that Caitlyn was eager to act aggressively and that's when she switched sides from that one councilor to Caitlyn. The coup was planned. But not everything leading up to the coup was planned. The gas attack by Jinx was coincidental but gave Ambessa another opportunity to use people's anger for her own ends.

After watching so many reaction videos. I realise that Ambessa chose Caitlyn because it was Mels idea. Remember in Mel flashback in S1 she spoke about choosing a figure head that can be easiky manipulated.
It never crossed my mind at first, that Mel's mother set up the attack on the memorial, but it just made sense. All that, to get Caitlyn under her arms. Ready for Emo-Vi in Act 2. I just have to wait way too long for it :(

That was the *stated* mission. I don't think Cait has ever had any intention of bringing her in alive, we saw her fantasizing about killing her back in the first episode. And she's only gotten more frustrated and more driven since then.

Salo really made sure that he never got control of Ambessa's army when he mentioned how powerful the Kirammans were. So looking forward to Ambessa weaponizing Cait's anger and grief by turning her into the wolf she always wanted Mel to be. She really looked at Cait's mom dying and said "free real estate."
No but seriously, I'm so excited for Caitlyn's downward spiral. My favorite thing about Cait in the first season was her compassion and ability to empathize. Now, I'm very interested to see what she can hold onto, and what it'll take to get her to start clawing her way back up.
So the Black Rose got introduce with leader LeBlanc - 1000 years old incredibly powerful mage, that even the Black Rose don't know is the leader :)
She is everywhere all at once through her agents/clones and can take possession of them.

I disagree that Cait couldn't have missed. I think she just didn't care. Cait wouldn't have missed if she was calm, and stable, she is anything but right now. She missed Jinx's head when she shot her finger, and she's clearly rattled in that situation. She would've killed the kid along with Jinx and she didn't care, Vi stopping her was the right call.
What a twist! Ambessa Medarda to use Cait's anger and vengeance. Its very unpredictable even I, a League of Legends player didn't predict it. I thought Ambessa will be the one to lead.
Ambessa can't risk herself by taking center stage in front of Piltover. She needed a spearhead. Caitlyn was the perfect candidate.
@@crimsonghoul8983 and she needed someone who the people already trust. She showed herself to be reliable but I doubt piltover would just roll over just because she ordered a martial law. People would be less accepting if she's the one making the shots. Caitlyn on the other hand is from a well-known house, and the people still have empathy for her because of her mother's death. Using her as a puppet leader is such a good move from Ambessa.
People need to realize Caitlyn isn't justified. Jinx and Vi have lost everything, Zaunites in general have lost way more than Caitlyn has yet no one isn't going to sit here and say they are right for risking a child's safety.
I find it interesting and such a cool call back that in s1 Ambessa speaking to Jace, she speaks of a General who was killed by essentially listening to the whispers of everyone around him and in that scene she does not whisper in his ear, she speaks at her regular volume, but to Caitlin she whispers in her ear.
I love the parallels of this episode and the 3rd episode of S1. Also Caitlyn’s path for revenge is reminding me a lot of black panther in civil war.

About what they said about episode 3 compared to episode 3 of season 1. I don't think we should view it as episode 3 of act 1 of season 2. I think it should be viewed as episode 3 of act 4 of of one overall show.
The moment that council guy mentions "its not her. Its the name" is probably how mel's mom plans change.

The fumes were introduced in the first season, when Silco had Sevika release that canister in the Baron's house and intimidated them. It is brilliant how they give very slow, subtle reveals that seem meaningless until fully introduced later.
The other interesting, very important plot point is that Jinx didn't want Sevika to release the fumes. It could easily be missed, but she wasn't the villain in that moment.
Ambesa described this exact thing to Mel that the best way to rule in a crisis is to do it through a pawn that thinks like you but thinks they are making the thoughts up on their own

what scares Ambessa is a thousands of years old witch that is practically immortal and one of the strongest characters in Runeterra. That arc is pretty interesting it involves pretty much 3 characters, god level powers and imprisonment. That's all I'm going to say
