Yet another lung gets donated to a mountain ascent while Brent lies about the distance. He does finally demonstrate his panorama landscape photography rig in action but what on earth is he doing with that pathetic iPhone?
I'm forced to share my snacks while listening to Brents appalling taste in pop music. The light might be gorgeous and I may or may not capture an epic shot or three - but is it worth the semi vertical hiking and the lack of a toilet?

Because of the entertainment value of your videos, we sometimes forget what a great photographer you are ... and then a video like this shows up which makes it impossible for your humor to mask the brilliance of your photography. Nicely done!

You are defiantly my favourite camera joggler, never a boring moment in any of your videos. Laugh and learn, what a great concept and you nail it every time. It takes a master to be able to take epic photos like yours and still have time to explain and joke at the same time. Whoa...! Both your images and Brent's are beyond excellent, easily my favourites out of the episodes I've watched. That pano cheat sheet is also quite handy, I never considered shooting a flag frame but that makes so much sense.
Definitely some 10's there on the the 'Juiciness Index' Gavin. Yes (as a fellow Brit) I enjoy the entertainment factor you bring to the vlogs BUT I wouldn't watch if the photography wasn't good and these were classic Fototripper epic shots. I love doing Panos ....but I'm not packing a Gimbal head like Brent, I carry too much gear as it is normally! Interesting to hear the 50% overlap recommended by Brent as I've often heard the 33% figure and thanks for the reminder about the distortion trick, just moved to full frame and got a 15-35mm wide angle so will hopefully give that a go in the Lake District in October..... if there is no Lockdown 2 here in the UK! :-(

This is really cool! I have nearly the same setup as Brent except sub the Fuji for a D850. It’s not often I see others doing panoramas like this!

I always get hungry when I watch your videos, just as I did as a young boy when I used to watch Scooby Doo. I think when we witness scenes like you did in this video it cleanses the body of stress and we just get absorbed by that very moment and the scene in front of us and just drinking in that fresh air, minus the gas, is wonderful!
But... the gas is the best bet surely?

Great episode. Honestly, I like the contrast in your images more than Brent's pano. Lots of detail but a little too HDR for my taste.

in the 1920's my grandfather Walkden worked road crews that cut some of those paths into driveable paths - into Canmore from Calgary side. that's how he got money to survive when they got hailed out 3 years in a row ... Beautiful country up there - nice Pano Brent :)
I don't know what to say about this one. Epic just doesn't feel grand enough to describe those shots and the view from up there. I guess it's time I get in a little better shape and get some good hikes in.

You and Brent both produced some epic images in this video.. With your favorite shot... yes, the light on the mountain was gorgeous but what made it for me was the brilliant light on the trees in the lower/right to center of the frame.. this gave a sense of balance with the light (for me).. I've been using the hand in front of the lens trick between my normal bracketing shots for ages.. because.. well i'm old and i get confused on where the series starts/ends as it all runs together when reviewing lol.. that location was stunning.. and i loved the brilliant blue water in the last shot..

great video as usual Mr Hardcastle, love that scene, almost a reminder of the far north of Scotland up the iconic stac polly. you do get more detail doing a pano properly but this is a good idea too, I sometimes use this method of cropping for a pano myself because it just looks so much juicier than a huge frame plus like you rightly say cropping like that gets rid of the useless parts of the image and emphasises on the real beauty where your eye is naturally drawn too anyway. you have some really stunning shots there.

This weekend we went to the middle of nowhere Texas.. i got up pretty early to get some photos of the sunrise on some red cliffs.. as i was trekking around i found myself narrating my hike with a Irish accent. I blame you.
But I've used an Irish accent...
