    4:53 as you noted, during a time of financial crisis for the company, LEGO sold nearly all of Legoland to Merlin entertainment, who owns them to this day. However what you may not know is that in 2019, LEGO purchased the whole of Merlin entertainment, which means they now have full control over their parks again.

    • @YesWasHere_
      @YesWasHere_ ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Makaneek5060 That's because the guy in the video is a dumb ass who didn't do proper research. Connecting LEGO themes is a hobby of mine, so far I have found and established cannon connections between 70ish themes that set them all in the same universe. Galaxy Squad is connected to Alien Conquest but not directly, its through a long string of connections. He also incorrectly identified Monster Fighters as directly connected to Alien Conquest. To connect Galaxy Squad to Alien Conquest you need to first account for Galaxy Squad's connection to Monster Fighters, this is established in a LEGO club magazine comic where we see that the defeat of Lord Vampyre is what attracted the Buggoids from Galaxy Squad to earth. In the official description of the series 16 collectable minifigure "Spy" it is stated that he has worked with the Galaxy Squad. It's also said that he has worked with the agents from the 2009 Agents theme. The Agents theme is connected to LEGO City through a racing game that features both the themes. City is connected to Classic Space through various Classic Space logos throughout the theme, it's even on many City space vehicles. The classic space logo also appears on the series 6 collectible minifigure "Intergalactic Girl", In her official description she is said to be the arch nemesis of the series 8 collectible minifigure "Alien Villainess". In the official description of the Alien Villainess she is revealed to be the leader of the alien forces in Alien conquest. Again, I take major issue with most of this video, as a huge LEGO fan I immediately noticed that lots of his information was blatantly incorrect and just poorly researched.

    Little correction about Bionicle: the masks didn't give the Toa their elemental powers. They had elemental powers on their own, and the masks usually gave them specific additional superpowers, like invisibility or telepathy. I think that's different in Gen 2, however

    • @woodman3926

    • @Vorox1027

      Well, correction correction: they actually needed their masks to use their powers as they didn't work without some sort of mask on their face.
      So, in a way, it's...kind of true? That being said, it is correct that it's not the masks themselves that give them their elemental power.

    1:31:19 I can kinda explain this! At some point in their past, LEGO did a focus group thing involving young girls, to try to break into that demographic. Turns out, the only thing they really wanted was more human-shaped figures with better articulation. There was other stuff, but that's the answer to the question you asked. I'm simplifying a lot here, look more into it if you're interested.

      Gwen was never intended to be a love interest though. Even when she was planned to just be a classmate, it's been said time and time again by the crew that despite being an unrelated girl and boy early on, they were never to be in love. Think it's just a combo of some things being purposely awkward (the dance practice in the wedding episode) and the general assumption of "boy and girl hate each other, that's love."

    I would KILL to have a LEGO Mixels Reboot. The series was extremely unique, and the tribes being weird is what makes it good. Also, the og Mixels Series ended in Series 9. They could have done JUST ONE MORE SERIES so that they can end in a Multiple of 5, but NOPE! Mixels, even being a franchise that lasted 2 years and being discontinued almost 6 years ago, actually has a Discord Server that is active a bunch of the time. And there aren't low members in it. Anyway, I hate it how, when I contacted LEGO about the Mixels' end, they just said
    "They were discontinued to allow more space for other themes"
    Like what do you mean bruh, give me a Reboot

    On the topic of "Boba Fett's Starship," it's less LEGO censoring it and more Disney. Disney Bigwigs are now calling The Firespray (even though that's what the model of the ship was called before). But the set was made after Slave I was retired, yet before Firespray was revealed. So LEGO simply went the generic route per Disney's request.

    I remember that in elementary school during an after school care thing that employees at the school did every day for kids I was chilling out in the computer room and the employees pulled out a big box and they pulled out the Lego NXT robot thing and some kid of an employee for the program who was in like 7th grade got on a computer and they plugged it into the pc and he ran a program on it and had it in like a car configuration so it would drive around the room following a red laser he had in his hand. Me and all the other elementary school kids were completely amazed by it and how he was driving it around with only a laser, I think he also had run a similar program where he had this big placemat with a 2d town on it and the robot used it's camera to see where the road on the placemat was and it would drive around the town on the roads all on it's own, it was really cool cause I had remembered seeing this NXT R2-D2 online and seeing an actual NXT robot in person was like almost sci-fi to me back in 2008.

    I loved all the Space Police sets and had a good chunk from both releases. I also like the space sets that were a lil older and had the figures in black with the black visor, and the ships were black with clear yellow. I wanna say they were some sort of Space Police. I was a huge fan of the Ice Planet stuff that came later with the white, black, blue and clear orange color theming. My favorite set was the space monorail, but all the Space Police and Ice Planet stuff is right there. My brother had all the early knights and castle, and the pirate sets. We still have all our stuff from back then, even the build guides.

    On how the church sets can get away with "genuine lego bricks," it's because they openly state they are not affiliated with or endorsed by lego. Companies like battle brick and brickmania, who make war stuff (brickmania is actually a major reseller of brickarms, too!) have to do the same.
    I'd also just like to give you props for this. A 2-hour video with hundreds of edited images and video clips is no easy feat, and it's been one of the most comprehensive looks I've seen.

    I want to correct something: the "sandspeeder" *in-lore* is just a "snowspeeder" with a different paint scheme. This is because the "snowspeeder" is just a general-purpose T-47 Airspeeder. It could be used over snow, sand, water, pavement, jungle, or simply the atmosphere of a gas giant. I think it's funny how many people believe that the T-47 was only a snow vehicle. It was literally just an aerial tug that the Rebels strapped some guns onto and sent to some Icebox in the outer rim.
