My main gripe is whether i would be okay with working for the defense industry, especially for warfare applications. but the availability of jobs / demand for RF engineers and relatively competitive pay is appealing. but geographic relocation / restriction to urban/higher COL areas is another gripe.... but i'd rather study and pursue a career in something im interested in, passionate about rather than something boring

Lead with your interest. Undergraduate isn't easy, it helps to lead with what you like first. While including courses that will help you continue growing in the secondary field you're interested in. If it was me, Electrical Engineering math courses go all the way up to differential equations. I would rather complete those in my undergraduate, you have room for C's. Masters you don't...That being said, you can always keep what you have but include your Circuits classes, and the top ELEE courses that directly relate to what you want to do...
Is it worth starting school for the first time at 25? I feel behind and don’t know how to finance it and if it is worth it or even possible to study ee. The debt, housing, food. All of that. I thought about community college for associates. I work full time right now. I just don’t know if it is worth quitting and committing, maybe take 2 courses for a few semesters and decide? It is a 50min 50 mile drive one way. Idk if it is worth the commute, the time, miles, money. Then I would have to move to another town for the final 2 years and pay for housing there too.
Go to work for an amazon warehouse if you can. They’ll accommodate you for school and pay for school. I’m 24. I started school when I was 23. Just do it now because when you’re 30 you’re gonna be like “dangggg man I should’ve went to school 5 years ago”. Just get it done so you can set up your life. You’re at a perfect age, you may be even smarter compared to your younger self. Go and give it your all. 💙
That's what I did. I'm 27 now and almost done with my engineering associates at community college. Luckily my parents are helping but I would still do it if they weren't because it will be worth it in the end. I started with 1 class and worked my way up adding another one each semester. I almost failed highschool because I never developed study habits so my main focus was to learn discipline and build momentum and self confidence.

I’m an electrician. When i was in school we would also look over what the electrical engineer does. I became interested I really wanted to do it I’m already in electrical school. I looked at the EE curriculum. Calculus 1 calculus 2 calculus 3. Differential equations equations linear algebra. I failed pre calculus in high school. So I just decided not to do it. Might as well say you’re a math major
Was curious if anyone has been in my situation because I could use some feedback. I’m 24 and have been a test technician for 3 years. I’m thinking about going back to school full time and getting my BA, I already have an associates in laser technology but it will only transfer a semesters worth of work. Does it even make sense to go back for a little over 3 and a half more years to get my BA in electrical engineering? I’d like to but it just seems like a lot more extra work than I wanted it to be.
Hi, I’m studying EE and my partner is an embedded engineer with CE degree. He is currently working as an embedded and feels as though the environment is very senior and not as motivating as the big ones. I studied EE at a PWI, and while it is definitely chewing steel doing this major, I wonder about the RF engineering field, and whether it’s mostly senior experienced veterans as well? What other pathways would you recommend that aren’t too hardware? I’ve had exposure to the construction industry in particular and with Lockheed.

@Ddddaah it’s basically a lot of calculus,1,2,3,4 Differential of equations Linear Algebra Physics:Electricity and Magnetism Mechanics Thermodynamics You also have to take some programming classes ( Java, Python) Engineering classes: Electrical circuits, some designing classes depending on your school this is most of what you have to learn during your first 3 years I will say After that usually is when you’re going for your bachelor degree where you have to learn classes where it’s a mixture of physics classes (electrical circuit 2 for example), electronics and computer science. If you manage to be good with Physics and Math in general you will be good because everything else builds up on that
Hi, awesome video! Is there a big difference between electrical engineering technology vs electrical engineering? Does EET also share the advantages as EE? Thank you!
Some good advice but also some blabbering. Geo hotz didnt graduate and learned it all. Go after what you want to do that also is in demand if you want to make money, otherwise be ready to work hard and keep on learning. Electrical engineers also have low points when they aren’t needed. Remember hardware is only so good and software is still as valuable.

I am planning to go to UNCC after I graduate, is it a good college and are they good at preparing you in engineering like EE?
AMAZING POINTS IN THE VID!! GOD BLESS
Thank you , you too.
Thanks for the video, Just finished diff eq, starting sophomore year finally getting into the meat of it and I'm a little worried about how well I can do but I'm going to try my best bro.
If you already finished the differential equations, the hardest part is out of the way
Thanks for sharing . This I’d love a day in the life . I’m confused what you do day to day .
Man oh man, id go computer engineering/electrical if i could but my cs degree path would be muuch faster and unfortunately i cant really do an electrical drgree online. But I plan to get a masters in computer engineer and I have been self teaching myself electronics and physics daily.
I agree man, the path of EE is dope, i didnt even know it was a thing till i got further in my cs degree and im 32 lol! Sometimes ya just dont know but its all good, i really like hardware so for me to combine coding with something physical is definitely interesting to me.
Good video man. Was nice to hear another person's perspective on EE
Great work man!
Thank you! Cheers!
I’m in sophomore year EE, thank you for the video, it gave me hope because job security is one of my biggest concerns.
Oh yea, youll probably have a job lined up before graduation.
The reason I’m switching from computer science to EE is because I’ve seen a guy land a software engineer job with a degree in EE. And I can always get my masters in Comp Science. It’s just two extra years 🤷🏾♂️ that’s so quick
Exactly what I’m doing
This video is 4 years late, I am fresh graduated Computer Engineer working in Deep Learning / ML department
Thats awesome, currently working on my masters in AI
Nice to hear someone on TH-cam graduate from UTRGV 🎉
Engineering is for smart people, such as yourself. .......................If someonen is not smart OR, doesn't have a deep enjoyment of the material, don't do it, they will waste money or be in debt for a degree they didn't complete.
I'm studying EE rn and looking into RF hardware/front end, systems, communication systems engineering, antenna engineering.
Congrats for your degree !!
Thank you!
The corporate life is designed for you to live not to win
There will come a time in the near future where technology will be so far advanced that robots will be able to do your jobs. Japan is already leaps ahead of the world but the world with eventually catchup.
Good video, thanks!
Glad you liked it!
Congrats bro.
Best wishes.
Thank you! Same to you
Me studying electrical engineering in college right now, 0 women in our class. Feeling like I'm in Priest school
Feel ur pain bro....in ma class there are only 2 G
Great vid! Made me subscribe instantly 👍 I'm on my way to declaring an EE major, just gotta get the prereqs out of the way first. What are your thoughts on specializing in the degree? For instance, EE degree with Communications specialization. Do you think that's better than studying a more general, comprehensive EE degree? Would love to know your thoughts.
Keep the videos coming 👌
Congratulations wish i were you rn life sucks
Can you make a resume video
Im glad youtube recommended this channel to me. Im going into second year of electronics engineering
That’s awesome, good luck!
What do you think about mechatronics engineering? I got accepted in mechatronics this year and i want to know your opinion about it 😅
Hi Jodabeni this video was really informative, I am currently a senior for a bachelors in EE. I was wondering how you were able to properly learn and retain information related to circuit design and basic EE formulas. I was also wondering if you had advise on how to make connections with recruiters to find a job. Thank you!
fax, i chose comp sci but the more i learn abt EE the more i like it. ima also join the military but might have to change majors after i get back lol
Military guard or reserves is not a bad deal
Im active. Go guard or reserves. Get an army intel job for the top secret clearance. And apply for gov jobs
@@IffyEdem i was interested in active duty to catch a break from the college life for a few years & to get some work experience as a 21 yr old. any reason u think reserves > AD?
@@IffyEdem like national guard? and reserves of what specifically? thanks
I'm a EE who is interest in DSP digital signal processing and machine learning application integration. And I encountered a CS kid who said isn't EE just circuits and welding😭 How can I educate him?
Don’t bother
I’m at utrgv right now, doing my undergraduate in computer engineering with a focus in software and my graduate program in electrical engineering. I want to become an integrated systems or hardware engineer, am I taking the right education path for the career or should I focus my undergraduate on more electrical and study programming languages on the side?
Also do internships. They’ll pay you a vast amount of money. You don’t need to come from some prestige school, just get the degree.
Check the video I did today , if money is the biggest issue!
What are your thoughts on computer engineering
Yes, please talk about the resume.
I also see the same thing about job problems, as a Student of EE outside the US, how often do you see Foreign talents getting opportunities in EE in the US abd what paths do you see as a way to get harness the plethora of opportunities in the US. Ty
Dude. I failed trig twice, stats 3 times, calc 3 three times and I’m almost through mg degree
Amigo quiero estudiar ingeniería eléctrica a los 38 años crees que ya es demasiado tarde?
Man this whole market is messed up, time to capitalize on motivational videos for Computer Science and engineering students haha tik tok here I come
As long as you’re helping others!
Hi, I’m studying EE and my partner is an embedded engineer with CE degree. He is currently working as an embedded and feels as though the environment is very senior and not as motivating as the big ones. He wants to switch and do devOps, because he feels they somewhat underpay the hardware guys? That’s his experience too as an African developer in his 20s.
I was just thinking about what major to go into lol. Thanks
Good luck man!
We know which video inspired you to drive around and make a video on engineering 👀
Ayeee hahah ! Sharp mans
Can I target kind of same career opportunities with a degree in electronics and computer science? It is the degree available to me.
Great video
Thank you
i’m in my first semester taking pre reqs. how would you recommend I get ready for the journey ahead of me if I want to be an electrical engineer
Show us ur soccer skills
Bro i have two year gap after bachelors in electrical engineering and i have no experience does it affect finding a job
Well done 👍🏾
Do you encourage me to equivalent my electrical engineering technology certification from a technical college that is not ABET and stopped giving a bachelor degree a few years ago?
If yes, do you think I'll get a decent job if I choose The University of Houston major in Electrical Power Engineering Technology?
Just look at places you would like to work and check out requirements
Abibas.
Your welcomed.
?
im a electrical engineer too in a shithole 3rdworld country. ive been job hopping for 20 years. been in engineering construction management 10 years and building facilities management 10 years. i used to decide to either computer science or this but fortunately i pick electrical. i love software as a kid i find it fancy and in the movies those hackers . but fortunately i didnt go for the hype. not bragging about but ive had double my salary offers 3 x laat year but didnt go for it. i like my job now because its too convinient for me. but im really getting board again and i dont know if i could still last for another year. i was already able to fix all the buildings major problems in 5 years and i feel really board now lol. i might job hop once again for those wfh setup job just to experience what that feels like
Sounds like you’re locked in
@@Jodabeni i dont know. i dont feel i really achieved someting despite a good resume. maybe i dont really like a management job but. management job is the one with higher pay here
❤❤❤
What about bachelor of technology electrical engineering
Its all well and good, but software wins in remote jobs. Also you can easily make a software product/startup and not work for the man.
Pros and Cons on both sides!
Easily make a product/startup ? That isn’t true 90% of start ups fail .
What I have to learn in electrical engineering can you give us a list of specific course Thanx
@Ddddaah it’s basically a lot of calculus,1,2,3,4
Differential of equations
Linear Algebra
Physics:Electricity and Magnetism
Mechanics
Thermodynamics
You also have to take some programming classes ( Java, Python)
Engineering classes: Electrical circuits, some designing classes depending on your school this is most of what you have to learn during your first 3 years I will say
After that usually is when you’re going for your bachelor degree where you have to learn classes where it’s a mixture of physics classes (electrical circuit 2 for example), electronics and computer science.
If you manage to be good with Physics and Math in general you will be good because everything else builds up on that
so your saying with my ee degree it good i have a clearance
It can definitely help! Companies don’t have to pay the extra money to get you a clearance over those that don’t have it
No thanks, not going to torture myself.
😂 fair enough
Should I double major in CSE + ECE? I'm currently on track to graduate within 2.5 years or 3 years and I think EE is also a good choice.
If you have the time why not?
Hi, awesome video! Is there a big difference between electrical engineering technology vs electrical engineering? Does EET also share the advantages as EE? Thank you!
Compare the course lists!
Guys should i take ee on a cllg with no good tecahers and equipment facilities.
thnx sirrrrrr
My pleasure
Some good advice but also some blabbering. Geo hotz didnt graduate and learned it all. Go after what you want to do that also is in demand if you want to make money, otherwise be ready to work hard and keep on learning. Electrical engineers also have low points when they aren’t needed. Remember hardware is only so good and software is still as valuable.
Geohotz is a genius and most of you are average smelly joes
Can you make a resume video please? 🙏🏼
I gotchu
Electric Engineering is terrible in most places! Unless you like working in cubicles and dealing with toxic politics. The meetings are so boring and soul-draining. Then you work long hours so forget about that work-life balance.
What do you mean?
Hi , i am a transfer student from UTRGV and am currently in San Antonio at UTSA studying Electrical engineering . Wha defense company in the SA area do you work in? Also any recommendation on where to get an internship in the city before i graduate ? Im trying to get some experience
I know for SATX they are more cybersecurity heavy. There are some aerospace companies that take ELEE
Is the job market also good if you don't want to work for miilitary at all
For electrical engineers … better than most
wich one do you think i better betwen defence and big tech
I believe it's advantageous to choose a company that will help you grow technically the most initially. The skills you learn can be valuable assets in your future career. But working in Big Tech helps your resume and paycheck a lot.
make the resume video bro
Where in texas you from bro ?
