No mention of core strength? On a sprint youre bracing your leg power against your arms with your core. It stands to reason you build the core doing the other stuff but is it enough?

Their training programmes include core work on every session. These videos are a nice freebie to help people progress. The full program is really good.

In this video we were looking at improving the physiological attributes of the legs, as per the science we have quoted, with a view to increasing power etc and therefore speed on sprints. Core unfavourably helps, as does upper body in many cases, we haven’t included those in this video but did make mention to “the most important training is the conditioning element”, which included all of this things we missed off.

@@Fit4Racing You dont want to give all your secrets away 😉 , im not having a go, i’d been watching some Nino Schurter videos and although a different discipline its interesting he seems to rate the core highly. Ive done bits of training and been on one of your programs before.
I have been fishing on youtube for new ideas for training. Maybe if i focus more on core than squats and dead lifts i will get better bang for buck putting power down and i wont end up rippin the ass out my good work trousers bending down in a few weeks 🥴.

@@eph8334 Squats and deadlifts work the core very well! They are also a lot better than those silly exercises performed by Schurter.

@@mrttcowboy Those silly exercises have served him well i think!
Cross country is different but its still worth looking at what a multiple winner has done in the gym.
      Schurter won the world championship in men's cross-country in 2009, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021 and the overall UCI World Cup in 2010, 2012, 2013, 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019 and thus become the second man to hold 7 World Cup overall titles.
Thats what im basing my point on
