- WE CANT BELIEVE HOW GOOD BANGKOK IS Our first impressions of Thailand and we LOVE IT. This is episode 1 of our Thailand travel series and we are so excited to travel this amazing country. In this video we run around Bangkok, Thailand to see some of the top attractions this city has to offer. We start out in the Beautiful and peaceful Lumphini Park. We then make our way to the incredible Wat Arun, one of bangkok's top attractions and Thailands most famous temples. We manage to see a live Muay Thai fight which got our blood pumping. This was a free even every 3rd and 4th Wednesday in one of Bangkok's many malls. We finished our day at the infamous Khaosan Road, a party area and hub for backpackers to drink the night away in Bangkok.

Nice vlog guys :) But one thing, that's not a ghost house, it's a guardian spirit shrine. Its not for someone who died in the building. This is an Asian belief that there are guardian spirits in every piece of land. So when we build a house or a building, the first thing is to erect the guardian spirit shrine.

Lumpini Park is the first public park in Thailand built over 100 years ago. King Rama VI donated land at the outskirt of Bangkok to construct the park. The King used to be educated in a boarding school in England as a prince for several years and thus Lumpini Park was an attempt to emulate Hyde Park in England. Lumpini Park is the favorite park for people to exercise in the morning and evening. The park is world famous for its many monitor lizards, some are as long as 2-3 meters. Monitor lizard lives in the park's pond for decades. It has no predator so the park is the heaven for them. Nearby is Benjakitti Park which is connected to Lumpini Park via Green Skywalk. Benjakitti Park and its new extension (Forest Park) land used to house factories of Thailand Tobacco Monopoly. The factories were relocated to a remote province decades ago. Both Lumpini and Benjakitti parks are favorite for Thais and expats to relax, walking, biking or simply walking in the morning and evening. Biking is allowed in Lumpini park from 10.00-16.00. Other times are allocated to walkers and runners. Biking is allowed in all hours at Forest Park due to its dedicated bike lanes.
The sculpture in Benjakitti Park is Prathumchart or literally Lotus Species. Lotus is the symbol of Buddhism and Thais bring lotus to the temple as merit offering. There is an annual event at the end of Buddhis Lent in September at Wat Yai Bang Pli to float a decorated boat to receive throwing lotuses along the canal th-cam.com/video/KzOtkYDcvu8/w-d-xo.html
In regards to the "ghost house" you called it. The direct Thai translation is "owner of land". It's more of a place for the spirit who's the protector of the land. So people give offering/pray for protection from bad spirit/luck and right of passage generally. The larger places (i.e. shopping mall, big apartment complex) there are 2 houses. The big one is for the spirit and the little house is for the "servant" to serve the spirit. (anyone with more knowledge can chime in or correct me if I'm wrong).
Hi welcome to Thailand.BTW, I would like to give the correct information about Ghost house. Actually, it is a spirit house in which we believe that there is/are some kind of good spirits that (he/she) will protect the property in terms of any bad ghost/spirit. They don't really need to be someone who died in the building. Most of the houses are very good spirits or even some kind of angel or spirit guards. So that means the reason we offer something to them to respect and hopefully, both sides do the jobs 😃

Hi, guys! Love to see you exploring Thailand. A little correction about the ghost houses:
When you build a house or any bulding, you need to have a ghost house for the spirits, which were on the land, where you build your house. The more land you take, the bigger should the ghost house be. It's a reminder, that you've took someone or something elses home like the plants and animals. It's for their spirit, not actually poeple, who died in there or something.
I guess it's a missunderstanding during language barrier. It's funny, that you actually believed that. Hope, you're not creeped out about the gohts houses anymore. XD That sounded really creepie. XD

I would like to correct your idea about the ghost houses, it's not for normal people who die there. It's for ancient ghosts or fairy or angels who protect that area. For people who die anywhere, we will perform a religion ceremony normally at the temple to send them to the peaceful places.

There are actually three parks in the area you explored - Lumpini, Benchakitti and Ploenchit. Please remember to visit Benchakitti (or the water & forest park neatly designed) and Ploenchit Park (or the narrow strip park linking Sukhumvit and Rama 4 Roads). Have a great time.

Try mango sticky rice ice cream at Swensen’s (cold version of mango sticky rice ^^) but I like to leave the mango sticky rice in the fridge for a while . You may want to go ancient city . Have a good day .

May I correct something. That is not a ghost house and definatly not for ghosts, not for birds, and not for cats, and not a small temple for some other vlogs. That is for house spirit, most Thai people have one in their house or building. The side is vary by the size of the building. Enjoy ❤❤❤
