From the horror that was the Metal Robot Spirits Zeta to what chronologically came before, I was initially quite skeptical of the Metal Robot Spirits Woundwort, what with the Composite Shield Booster being problematic in the HG and a full transformation structure. While the latter I am pleasantly surprised by, the former is still the thorn of this figure.

That transformation is really impressive, particularly the chest area. I was always curious how they'd pull that off - hopefully if we get a MG Woundwort in the future it'll be more refined.

Great review! A transforming design needs a metal frame imo so there won't be any parts to break easily so thank god it got the metal robot spirits treatment.
Regarding the shoulder connector for the arm, I literally don't use it other cuz 1, i couldn't figure out how connect it and 2, as you said it hinders articulation so i could care less about being lore accurate.
HOWEVER my biggest gripe is the holding hands. The fact I have to basically slowly destroy them to attach the weapon is stupid and Bandai should've just added a hg style hand for the weapon. Also, I prefer the hg's face as it looks even more like a bug and without the face vents, looks more unique.

But it needs a metal frame that's done right. What they did for the Metal Robot Spirits Zeta Gundam was not the way since they made it too tight for the figure's own good.
The shoulder connector plugs into the slot behind the shoulder joint, pretty much the same as the HG. But that one thing about locking the arm up is not ideal.
Lastly, all Robot Spirits figures ask for you to wedge the hand open for inserting weapons, but just because it's the convention does not mean I'm fine with it. It breaks my heart every single time I do that

@@mj2005gundam yea I know it's a norm for action figures in general to wedge accessories in the hands but in this case with the long af fingers along with that thumb makes me not want to take back out that weapon. I was literally looking at the manual to see if the weapon handle would disassemble but it didn't and that scared me.
With regards to the metal frame tho I'm having no issues other than the shoulders being a bit weak. Where i was coming from with this being a metal robot spirits is that a simple hg with so many moving parts for a transformation is bound to break easily and i dont want that headache. As I always told myself, 'if its zeta level of complex, it better have metal joints or else.' I think it's good how it is but the hands for me personally is what irritates me. The weapon itself actually should've been better engineered for said hands.
Btw i found out its landing gear looking feet can stand without its supports so it frees up some restrictions.

Where did u get this and for how much i have veen trying to find this at a decent price for over a year. Also good review and seriously jealous they give so many things to hold ahield while hg we only get a weak hand sandwich for this. A clip or 2 would have been nice.

I've gotta ask, how good are the Advance of Zeta model kits?

    • @mj2005gundam
      @mj2005gundam  28 วันที่ผ่านมา

Depends. The TR-1 is consistently good across all variants, the Gaplant TR-5 depends on where your goalposts are, the TR-6 is only good if it's the Kehaar II or the Hyzenthlay II variants, and the Barzam is a solid kit overall. Option sets like the G-Parts are all up to your preferences

1:19 Is it me or do the proportions seem kinda funky there?
I know this MS has big thighs but the upper body looks stretched out.
Might be an illusion caused by the angle and darker parts being lost in the black background.

I wonder if we'll ever get an MG Woundwort...
Would be nice to have a version that doesn't partsform.
EDIT: 4:33 Okay nevermind, for the most part. :P
It's nice to see how the TR-6 is actually supposed to transform.

    • @mj2005gundam

Maybe an MG would finally have a full transformation, since Metal RD figures are still smaller than MGs

@@mj2005gundam Granted a full transformation is always a double-edged sword.
Liberties are always taken to facilitate it and it doesn't always pan out.
Granted the only transforming MGs i have are the Victory duo and their transformations are weird.

By itself, it's definitely solid, even with the transformation. But once you introduce the Composite Shield Booster, you're just asking for trouble.
