So excited for this! BtoB is amazing and they're one of the funniest group, absolute crackheads (so I recommend checking out their funny moments as well). They debuted in the same year as EXO. yeah BTOB are still active and as iconic as ever! they recently released a new single called "outsider" (a bop!) and earlier this year they were part of KINGDOM along with many other (younger) groups, and they killed it! Also, they are literally the funniest group out there! The rapper who speaks English is Peniel, and he is indeed Korean-American, while Sungjae (the maknae of the group) is now coming back from his military service while everyone else already finished a while ago, so I think we'll get to see more of them now! :) ps: "I'll be your man" is ICONIC, one if not the most famous BTOB song! They also have a sub unit called BTOB BLUE, which consists only of the vocal line (Eunkwang, Changsub, Hyunsik and Sungjae). BTOB currently has 6 official members - sadly, Ilhoon (the blonde one with big eyes in "Thriller") left the group due to drug scandal :c The English rapper is Peniel, the attractive rapper is Minhyuk, the smooth voice is Changsub, the airy voice is Eunkwang (leader, currently 30 y/o, the oldest one and my bias), Breadman 1 was Sungjae (maknae, currently 26 y/o), Breadman 2 is Hyunsik. In the beginning their company didn't really know what to make of them so they basically trained in everything, at first they were supposed to be a band but then they were gonna be an acrobatic group. Yes, BTOB is still active! Two of their members are currently in the military and one, sadly, left the group because of weed investigation reasons. The four members currently active (three who have completed their military services and one American) were on Kingdom earlier this year and have released some great music (checkout Outsider and Show Your Love). Peniel - the guy with the super short hair/shaved head - actually has some sort of autoimmune disorder that attacks his hair and causes it to fall out in chunks, so he keeps his hair really short (also the English wrapper and an American from Chicago). For a while he just constantly wore hats, but eventually told everyone about his condition on a show called Hello Counselor (I think that's the show name?).
About what you said with being afraid Vixx might be too much for you: Don't worry, their music videos are dark, but not excessively gory. The only MV that is very explicit is voodoo doll, and that one has a censored version too if you don't feel comfortable with a lot of blood/body horror. I still 100% recommend checking them out, because their vocals are great and they definitely have some energetic, catchy songs you'd enjoy (plus the members re all of mature age and very nice to look at haha)

And to give "You're So Fly" even better crackhead context, the two women in the MV are really famous female comedians 😂 I hope you do check out Vixx at some point! While their concepts are sometimes dark, the only one that's particularly explicit is "Voodoo Doll," which also has a PG version if you're a little squeamish. My recommendations would be Shangri La-one of, if not the best, kpop-meets-traditional-asian-music; Scentist-their last comeback as a group (prior to several enlistments); Chained Up-as iconic and kinky as it sounds; Fantasy-a masterful blend of classical music and moody pop; and Error-I'm not even joking, this is one of the most iconic second generation kpop songs of all time. Honestly, I just went back to your first reaction to them and I think you did give them a fair chance. Sometimes, groups just don't resonate with you the first time you hear them. I remember this happened to me with Mamamoo and "Starry Night". I heard it back in 2018 without really knowing who they were and they just didn't give me the feeling they give me now. As I was just telling another reactor, it is quite rare that we find a kpop group whose entire vocal line is equally strong, where each member has his own distinct color. The only other group I know of that has such qualities is 2AM (a 2nd gen ballad group who so happens have just returned after a long hiatus)

Been waiting for this when btob won on your poll (i joined there too :D) They are called BTOB ( pronounced as BI TU BI ) Their skill and talent are acknowledged and loved by the public in south korea. They are known as vocal kings, they nail any concept and genre given to them. Their sounded like a 2ndgen idols tbh since they debuted early 2012, and they don't sound like the usual kpop idols. 7 vocals, 7 rappers, 7 dancers, 7 beagles. Yes, they can do all that. Rappers usually write their own verses, and some members produce and compose their songs too. They're the happiest when they're together, you can see it when they perform. The stage is their playground, and they don't lipsync LOL. They're the craziest and most talented group I have seen. You should check their ballad songs, Missing You is a masterpiece. I am also an exo-l but when I heard the vocals and rappings of btob it is just another level. For me exo and btob are the vocal kings, truly are, no doubts. They are great at evoking emotions, that's why they are really good at singing ballads. Also, they gained more recognition because of that. I'm so happy you enjoyed their music. I'll be your man is the only song that was self-produced from the ones you reacted. Hyunsik composed and wrote it. I would say 2016 was the year they started to produced their title tracks. Maybe that's why you liked the last song more, since the composer is part of the group and knows best how to make each of the members shine more. Peniel has a condition that made him lose his hair due to stress, so he started shaving it. But he's much better now. They are a 6 member group now, sadly Ilhoon had to leave the group december last year. BTOB will be done with military service soon, since the two younger members will come back in a week. I consider EXO as my greatest love in Kpop but BTOB will always have a special place in my heart as they were my first love. I wasn't really interested in kpop but I come to appreciate great vocals because of them.They're the ones who lead me to my home as an L. I love Changsub, if you could give them a chance too, please listen to "At the End" it's a pop rock with a ballad feel hehehehe, it's too good!!! On the other hand, you're right. So excited for this! BtoB is amazing and they're one of the funniest group, absolute crackheads (so I recommend checking out their funny moments as well). They debuted in the same year as EXO. One member of BtoB (Hyunsik) is actually friends with Kyungsoo. They went to the same high school and were in a schoolband together. At 12:26 is Changsub, his voice is amazing! He is a very down to earth yet incredibly funny person.
I'll be your man is the best mixture of rap and vocals, it's one of their best songs, and portrays the talent of them. It's also in a key so high that even experienced idols had trouble trying to sing it, it's something only btob can sing effortless.

yeah BTOB are still active and as iconic as ever! they recently released a new single called "outsider" (a bop!) and earlier this year they were part of KINGDOM along with many other (younger) groups, and they killed it! Also, they are literally the funniest group out there!
The rapper who speaks English is Peniel, and he is indeed Korean-American, while Sungjae (the maknae of the group) is now coming back from his military service while everyone else already finished a while ago, so I think we'll get to see more of them now! :)

"Missing You", "Finale: Our Concert", "Remember Me", "It's Okay"... also, "Mirage" and "Show Your Love" by BTOB4U, a sub unit (some members served in the army at that time, so there's only Eunkwang, Changsub, Minhyuk and Peniel). They also have a sub unit called BTOB BLUE, which consists only of the vocal line (Eunkwang, Changsub, Hyunsik and Sungjae).

I see people answered a lot of the questions you had already but I might add that yes, they do play a lot of instruments. In the beginning their company didn't really know what to make of them so they basically trained in everything, at first they were supposed to be a band but then they were gonna be an acrobatic group. As a result, all the members are multi-talented and incredible.

Yes, BTOB is still active! Two of their members are currently in the military and one, sadly, left the group because of weed investigation reasons. The four members currently active (three who have completed their military services and one American) were on Kingdom earlier this year and have released some great music (checkout Outsider and Show Your Love).
Peniel - the guy with the super short hair/shaved head - actually has some sort of autoimmune disorder that attacks his hair and causes it to fall out in chunks, so he keeps his hair really short (also the English wrapper and an American from Chicago). For a while he just constantly wore hats, but eventually told everyone about his condition on a show called Hello Counselor (I think that's the show name?).
About what you said with being afraid Vixx might be too much for you: Don't worry, their music videos are dark, but not excessively gory. The only MV that is very explicit is voodoo doll, and that one has a censored version too if you don't feel comfortable with a lot of blood/body horror. I still 100% recommend checking them out, because their vocals are great and they definitely have some energetic, catchy songs you'd enjoy (plus the members re all of mature age and very nice to look at haha)

I'll be your man is one of my favorite songs, too. It was co-composed and written by member Hyunsik. All the rappers also write their own raps always. All members can play different instruments and half of them are also composers/producers. They have a wide range of discography and it will be fun to check out even their b-sides. They tried a lot of genres but people always say that BTOB is a genre itself. They have a distinct sound as to why they are called vocal kings. Their fun stuff is as amazing as their ballads. BTOB's ballad is different from the other and I hope that you'll see why when you check out their trilogies.

Honestly, I just went back to your first reaction to them and I think you did give them a fair chance. Sometimes, groups just don't resonate with you the first time you hear them.

As I was just telling another reactor, it is quite rare that we find a kpop group whose entire vocal line is equally strong, where each member has his own distinct color. The only other group I know of that has such qualities is 2AM (a 2nd gen ballad group who so happens have just returned after a long hiatus)

Been waiting for this when btob won on your poll (i joined there too :D) They are called BTOB ( pronounced as BI TU BI ) Their skill and talent are acknowledged and loved by the public in south korea. They are known as vocal kings, they nail any concept and genre given to them. Their sounded like a 2ndgen idols tbh since they debuted early 2012, and they don't sound like the usual kpop idols.
7 vocals, 7 rappers, 7 dancers, 7 beagles. Yes, they can do all that. Rappers usually write their own verses, and some members produce and compose their songs too. They're the happiest when they're together, you can see it when they perform. The stage is their playground, and they don't lipsync LOL. They're the craziest and most talented group I have seen.

I really enjoyed this reaction! I'm so glad you gave them another chance. BTOB has a varied discography. They have upbeat songs but also slow ones. They are great at evoking emotions, that's why they are really good at singing ballads. Also, they gained more recognition because of that. I'm so happy you enjoyed their music. I'll be your man is the only song that was self-produced from the ones you reacted. Hyunsik composed and wrote it. I would say 2016 was the year they started to produced their title tracks. Maybe that's why you liked the last song more, since the composer is part of the group and knows best how to make each of the members shine more.
Peniel has a condition that made him lose his hair due to stress, so he started shaving it. But he's much better now.
They are a 6 member group now, sadly Ilhoon had to leave the group december last year. BTOB will be done with military service soon, since the two younger members will come back in a week. We are so happy. Recommendations: Movie (very funky song), Missing you (it's a ballad, the song gave them seven music show wins), Beautiful pain (unfortunately, their leader isn't in the song since he was in military service at that time). I consider EXO as my greatest love in Kpop but BTOB will always have a special place in my heart as they were my first love. On the other hand, you're right. All the band members are crazy hahahhaha, if you see the band guides you'll realize that they are super outgoing and fun, I hope you can love them a lot. EXO is my undying love, but BTOB and Mamamoo also have a big place in my heart.
So glad you made another reaction for BTOB. Its pronounced as "Bee-to-Bee" fyi. Yes their characters are amazing along with their voices and skills. Their motto is 'We don't sell products, we sell emotions!" And you can really see that both in their interactions and in their music. They are a group of 7, currently, a group of 6 as Illhoon(rapper) is not currently part of the group because of an issue, but Melody (fandom) is eagerly waiting and hoping for his return. They were a group of 4 (BTOB4U) these last 1-2 years because some members were in the military, they just returned yesterday, so the current group of 6 is back together and will be working on a new comeback in the coming months. Do check out the BTOB4U stuff, their ballads which are emotional and with a message, as well as their other songs like 'Movie', 'only one for me'. Looking forward to you exploring more of them :)
