I think it would make sense that she would be able to fool the doctors into getting out after she meets Taro because basically, she's been misdiagnosed. Because no one in her hospital is trained to properly deal with her illness, the emotions and bond she has with Taro looks like progress to them, rather than a further stage in her illness.
Yes, she might have a curse that seems like an illness because supernatural exists in that world, or it's an extremely rare illness, and well only extremely recently have women been included in medical studies and some things don't even include them at all and that leads to misdiagnose because women and men show different symptoms
What if her parents lied to everyone about why she was in the psychiatric ward? In Japan, it's common for families to be shamed for the mistakes of their child, so maybe they told people their daughter was in the ward because some random man stabbed them, and that she was in the custody of her uncle, which would give them an excuse to leave her without being shamed, and so she won't be shamed by her uncle, and he'd be more likely to take her in. They'd probably talk to him separately while she's in the ward.
@Mineblox Editz but it isn't within the game, you can only change textures within the game files and from my understanding, only after you finish the game and unlock debugs can you change the hair and all that
@Mineblox Editz however that still isn't part of the main game. At the begining you only get to customize senpai. Don't forgett the demo of yandere sim is a thing and that customization options as far as I checked last time I played the game, are only unlocked once you complete the demo
@@HUEYYYYYY Yanderedev said that in the near future, you will be able to change Ayano’s hairstyle and eye color by going to the hair salon in Shisuta town and buying contact lenses.
@@callimara I acutally had a concept that ayano was in a domestically abU$ivE rich family that was full of painters, and she wanted to be a sicentist and be taken seriously,so she fled on her bike all the way to Tokyo ,jpan, where she meets the guidance counselor of akademi high, she is taken in by osana's mom and is free to be whatever she wants
Adding a little more to the Yandere Condition, an even rarer case is YC in young boys (I only thought of this because of Yandere Kun, feel free to add on). Small edit: Even when the boys express obvious symptoms, people pass it off as "boys being boys".
That’s a dope idea AND gives a nice reference to ADD/ADHD (which is usually undiagnosed in girls, due to their symptoms are written off as them being “chatty” or “quirky”)
What if yandere kun was her cousin and lives with her and her uncle? I think that would make the game play slightly harder because yandere kun would be able to tell what she's doing and debending on what yan-chan's relationship is with yan-kun determines if he will help or not?
I am from japan and the articles depend on the city. My home town tokyo, adopts children as their own and osaka considers the orphans a burden so they don't adopt them. Hope this helps. :) edit: tysm for the likes this means a lot to me.
At this point I don’t know how well will a new game that comes from that idea would be received seeing as 2 of the games that were inspired from that concept ended up having problems and in the end the weren’t finished, there will probably come a lot of problems for whomever decides to take the concept and make it their own
@@mirettelia231 A year ago I really planned a fangame of Yandere Simulator with my own characters and story But now I want it to be a original game though. I want to try to change it so Yandere Dev doesn't try to delete my game or something.
@@peoplepleaser. I suggest keeping it from the public until it’s close to finishing/ being finished! That way YanDev doesn’t stammer about “I got more stuff than u” and you can work stress-free(?)!
He does not own the Yandere Idea. It’s actually very common, his game idea isn’t unique and Hell, he doesn’t even own Original Game Yan Chan’s design. I’m not attacking you, it’s just I find Yandev and his reasonings absolutely ridiculous and I just needed to point this out. Callimaras story is actually very different from Yandevs already while still pertaining to the original material but it’s different enough that it can’t be call “copied”.
I like this backstory a lot more as it doesn’t put any negative stigma against any currently existing conditions. Also semi related but if this where the version on Yan-Chan we got I think we shouldn’t be able to customize her or Senpai except for maybe the gender. I get the reason it’s currently in the game is to create our “perfect lover” but this should be the story of a character that falls in love with another rather then blank slates we can self insert ourselves into
Alex Dayz A lot of people who don't have empathy are commonly stigmatized as "heartless murderers" for not being empathetic. This rewrite is still harmful, as empathy is thought of as a requirement to be a good person. Empathy is knowing how someone feels, compassion is not hurting people. A lot of empaths don't give others compassion, and people who don't have empathy are typically very compassionate. It would be better to have her be an empath with no compassion. Also, having her being in a psych ward is generally a bad idea as the people who go there are constantly demonized. Having Yan-chan act this way based on any real mental conditions is a bad idea.
This is good and, while I personally didn’t have an issue with the previous backstory, I can understand why others do. When it comes to mental illness, it is best to not ever name it in fiction to not risk others with this mental condition getting a bad rep and fearing receiving help. I would be lying if I said that Autism has never been poorly portrayed in media, which is a disorder I have. I do like the idea of ending it with Senpai saying Yan-Chan’s nickname for her, because he loves her for who she is. This good ending, however, shouldn’t come from just simply eliminating the rivals through nonviolent ways. Often, teenagers cannot learn or get better by being a good angel. They usually have to allow themselves to explore their likes or dislikes and not all of them are either good or moral. Some will even have sex with the guy they like. Since you are wanting your version to socialize with Senpai, then the good or bad ending should depend on the trust and bond between the two. How you eliminate your rivals will effect that bond, but it will depend more on if you are honest, fake or treat Senpai. If your actions towards him come off genuine and honest, then you will get the good ending, but if you lie, use and manipulate Senpai, he will not trust you and therefore will lead to a bad or neutral ending, depending on his trust and bond with you. Unlike Yandere Simulator, your version can have a bond and trust scale that you must raise to get the good ending. To raise your bond level, you are required to spend time with Senpai like hanging out, giving gifts and having times to talk with one another. You can also share classes or join clubs that he is a part of to rise you bond faster. If your bond level is high enough, you may be allowed to go on dates, give more romantic gifts or display PDA such as hand-holding or kissing. The trust level is equally important and requires you to make honest and genuine decisions. It isn’t enough to just give gifts or send Senpai on dates, especially in real life. You will have moments where you are having small talk and the player can choose which sentences to say. Depending on the answer will raise your trust level. You also have an option to lie or manipulate, but it will lower your trust. Lying may rise the trust level, but only if you are convincing enough and, if caught, the trust level will lower down twice the original amount I you gained when you first told the lie. Manipulation will lower your trust level, depending on the severity of the consequences. For instance, you could manipulate him to cheat on a test for you, which will lower your trust bar, but if he is caught, then the trust level will lower much farther. If your trust is high enough, you may convince Senpai to do things with you, including committing a crime, but you must pay attention to your trust bar. If it goes wrong, the trust bar will lower down farther. You can also do requests for Senpai such as helping him study, helping him with an issue with a bully or listening to his troubles. When doing any of these, your trust and bond level will rise, depending on your success. All missions with Senpai will have mini games to complete. Succeeding will increase trust. If either of the trust or bond bar are too low, then the player will get a bad ending. Of course, that is just my suggestion, since others have given you suggestions.
I have an idea. What if your sanity affects Bond and Trust gauges? Lemme explain. I see Bond as “Progress meter” and Trust as “Risk meter”. Bond is static - it may decrease based on your actions, but not past certain checkpoints (upon reaching which you get a cutscene or an event). Trust, however, is very fluctuating, and can increase or decrease based on your actions and interactions with Senpai. And your sanity level put modifiers on those stats. You use pills to control the sanity meter. And that affects your UI and stats. For example, if your sanity is high, it’s easy to socialize with Senpai and increase the Bond meter, and Trust is low-risk. The world seems sunny and bright. Let’s say, Max Sanity is +2 to Bond, x1 to Trust. High Sanity is +1 to Bond, 1.2x Trust Neutral Sanity is +0 to Bond, 1.5x to Trust Low Sanity is -1 to Bond, 1.8x to Trust Min Sanity is -2 to Bond, x2 to Trust. However, there’s a downside to keeping sanity high up all the time: you actually need to be neutral-to-low sanity to commit crimes. And the UI should reflect that. So for example, if you walk past a teacher’s desk at Neutral Sanity, you’ll see a button prompt to steal an answer sheet. But if you’re at Max Sanity, the prompt won’t appear - you’re sane and happy, it doesn’t occur to you. At High sanity, you may see a blurred button prompt and get a “Hmm...” from Yan-chan - she recognizes that there’s an opportunity, but can’t quite think of it. And you *need* to be at low sanity for the murder prompt to appear. And also, you can’t fill Trust all the way with a x1 modifier. You need to take risks at neutral-to-low sanity to get the best ending. And considering the pill mechanic - I think sanity should decrease naturally over time, but there should be pills that force it to decrease if need be, not only increase. Say, if you spot a good opportunity for a murder, but you’re on neutral-to-high sanity. But pills are a limited resource, so you can’t abuse it too much.
@@Tioko That sounds like a neat addition. I didn't really think of sanity, since I've always considered that to be Yandere Dev's meter in getting an ending, whereas we are creating our own interpretations. I'm sure Sanity can also be a good play with my own idea.
@@Tioko I don't quite understand how being less sane increases your trust score, how does that make sense? I think limiting your options at high sanity is enough of a penalty tbh. Maybe if you perform a kill you are locked out of max sanity, with each subsequent murder lowering the sanity limit further?
@@sonicdml4175 Well, it’s an old comment, but I think this is what I meant: Say you’re at low sanity, and you do an action that normally gives you +2 Trust. But with the low sanity modifier, you actually gain +4 Trust. However, if you do an action that gives -2 Trust, that also turns into -4 Trust. So it’s a risk-reward balance kind of thing.
The way you changed Yandere Chan last time was amazing. You’re absolutely brilliant and creative and did it in such a way that I feel is not right that it’s not canon
Add on to the situation with the medication: Maybe, if she depends on them too much and takes too many in a short peroid of time, her body builds up an immunity (if that's how it works for this type of medication too, correct me if it doesn't), so the medication would stop working after that point (either temporarily or altogether) or would be less effective
Thanks, this comment inspired me to elaborate on the Bond and Trust idea someone else in the comment section suggested. Basically, these gauges determine the ending you get, and you need to fill them fully for best ending. So, what if your sanity level affects Bond and Trust gauges, and you control the level with pills? Lemme explain. I see Bond as “Progress meter” and Trust as “Risk meter”. Bond is static - it may decrease based on your actions, but not past certain checkpoints (upon reaching which you get a cutscene or an event). I think you could even make it simpler for the abandonment thing, mom and dad peace out but they don’t cut her off entirely. She gets a letter that says: “we’re going to be gone for... ever. But we don’t want the shame of having abandoned you to ruin our good name. So you’re gonna live here and we’re gonna go live out the rest of our lives elsewhere. When you turn 18 you can have the house, but we’re done with you.” I feel like that would help her get into the whole identity crisis thing more because she’s also faking having a happy family at home as well. And it puts a ticking time bomb on her life, because the second she’s 18 she’s on her own 100%. Nothing but an empty house and whatever education she can get before then.
I feel like committing a murder in this game should automatically put you on track for the bad ending, however, that doesn't mean that Himari wouldn't use violence to keep her rivals away from her senpai, like how she attacked her parents earlier in her life.
I like to imagine an alternate timeline where you're yanderedev. You listen to your fans, didn't fuck up the tiny build colaboration and actually were making a good game... Oh well, a girl can dream
ive got some concepts for some seperate endings! true ending - taro loving (yandere-chan), she goes to psych ward and we learn her name or having taro love someone else and yander chan accepting it, but remaining good friends with taro and going to the psych ward of her own volition good ending - taro loving (yandere-chan), but no psych ward, and no name. maybe her shadow could be red depending on how much morally reprehensible stuff she did bonnie and clyde ending - you become a murderous couple, maybe have an epilogue with a murder suicide or them getting split up bad ending - getting rejected by taro worst ending - you get rejected and turned into the police/psych ward
twisted ending- Taro accepts Yandere-chan but is scared of her or emotionally numb. If he is forced to witness people he cares about dying and Yan-Chan has a relatively bad or neutral relationship with him but does the right thing in some key-moments.
i'm biased because i have knowledge that not all psychotic individuals are like, in the mood for murder, but like as a person with psychosis who just generally craves representation in any format i'm a little sad she's no longer going to be a character with psychosis. i can see why you decided against it, it was admittedly Kinda Edgy (i mean that in the nicest way possible) but it makes the part of me that loves seeing any representation a little sad. if anything i think this may inspire me personally to make more characters with psychosis that can represent the condition from an inside perspective!!
I can relate, and I think that if it's represented properly-even in a violent setting-It's better than the misinformed representation that's already out there.
I grew up and out of Yandere Sim, to be honest. But fan or not, I love seeing everyone's take of what the story could be. It just makes more sense. I also really love your redesign of Yandere Chan in the previous video, and video now. THAT would be a version of Yandere Sim I'd want to play. It's more put together. Also, I would love if you did a redesign and game concept design of the other rivals, and how Himari interacts with them. Edit: About the story. I KIND of have a feel of where Yandere Dev is going for in the story, but I feel for what he's aiming for, the story he WANTS to tell, it should be more modern and simplistic. I also feel like he's trying a little to hard to make this feel like it takes place in Japan really. Like this one is(Modern and simplistic but understandable story. Follows the Yandere Concept. Makes the story more logical by bringing up mental health, and the accurate design of school girls to adults today.), but just adds more, and the story feel dynamic. (Well, mental health stuff isn't simple, but I hope y'all know what I mean.) One thing I would have him keep is the badass Yakuza kun character. Opinion. LOL. But seriously though, I love the video, and you really have a talent for writing a story like this for Yandere Chan. I think with your studies, you really tackled a subject like mental health, and what mental issue/illness/health Yandere Chan would have.
I really appreciate that you took the feedback you've gotten to heart. Mental illness in fiction is a bit of a minefield, especially since it's nearly impossible to find sympathetic and responsible portrayals of highly stigmatized conditions such as psychotic disorders and personality disorders (especially antisocial personality disorder and dissociative identity disorder). Deliberately fictionalizing/abstracting the issue certainly helps with that - depending on the tone, this (sadly non-canonical) version of the story could serve as commentary on mental illness in a more abstract way (e.g. the destructive impact ignorance, discrimination and a lack of resources can have on those suffering) or on anime character archetypes such as the yandere, tsundere, inexplicably popular harem protagonist etc. by recontextualizing them. I think the latter approach in particular would tap really well into the core appeal of the game - maybe I'm projecting, but I'm willing to bet most fans who got invested in the game at some point weren't there because they just really, really wanted a stealth game with an anime aesthetic, they were specifically interested in a game that explores the mindset of a yandere, what it would be like to be one on a day to day to day basis, and why that trope appeals so much to so many people. (Too bad Yandere Dev is too busy drooling over fictional highschoolers to have the sort of insight and self-reflection required to make a game that actually digs into genre conventions like that, but oh well.)
Thinking about your revamp has made me realize that almost all the rivals don't make sense or are flat out problematic. In the chance you get to that part, I have a few suggestions! These aren't in any specific order, just random ideas lol. I'm also going to leave ideas a method to beat them to get the good ending. - Childhood bestfriend still works well! The best possible ending with them would be to befriend them/show you're a great person. I think they'd be less of a tsundere and more of a really supportive friend, and after seeing senpai's mental struggles they just want what's best for him. After seeing how wonderful you are, they tell you they've noticed your crush and they have your back - A newer school friend is similar to childhood bestfriend but still works well. Maybe they could be a guy and one of the later rivals (if you'd have to figure out the rival yourself in the game, it might throw players off after getting a bunch of female rivals). Assuming it's still a guy, maybe they can be a somewhat bulky dude bro jock who is dumb in school but great at reading people as well as strong enough to come out on top in a fight. To make the good ending something you really have to work for, I think the way you'd have to beat this is befriend some other male character earlier on in the game that isn't straight and get them to confess to senpai's friend (you figure out their sexuality after being their friend long enough or you can alternatively join some sort of LGBT club) - I like your idea of senpai being somewhat messed up like Ayano, so one rival should probably be someone of high status from inside and/or outside of school. Whether it ends up being for riches or fame, senpai would totally be down to date this person. Due to this rival's popularity, they have many friends and people watching them. However, they would also probably have a few enemies or just people who hate them out of envy. Maybe for the good ending you'd have to beat them in reputation at school. This would be a hard task and would also put student eyes on you - The younger sibling is pretty gross in the way Yandere dev presents it, but I think it could work if it isn't implemented with the incesty anime trope in mind. One night when you are stalking home, you are caught by his younger sibling. For however long they're the rival for, Ayano is used as their own little servant. In the good ending, you please them so much they have the respect to leave you alone (and maybe even tell senpai how good you are). The best perk of this rival is it adds a completely different challenge. removing the more rinse and repeat cycle you go through with other rivals - The second to last rival could keep the delinquent concept but with a twist. By the time you learn about this rival, it's to late and they're already dating senpai. However, they are somewhat abusive and their aggressive nature and strength makes it hard for anyone to defy them. With all of this, Ayano is feeling outraged and violent, making her mental issue worse then usual. In a good outcome, you'd have to prevent yourself from killing the girl and either convince them to leave senpai alone or get senpai to break up with them himself - The final rival should be Senpai himself. With his whole backstory of being sent to the mental hospital after a failed suicide, it wouldn't be surprising if he had some sort of relapse (especially if the previous rival was in the game). I'm not really sure what would happen gameplay wise, but the more aggressive you've played, the harder this becomes (a full murder ending should also be challenging). This would also give a natural entrance into your relationship with senpai. Players shouldn't be required to use much of their precious time for investigating and plotting with buddying up with him, so this last challenge gives proper build up

I would change the ending a little maybe Yandere has a close female friend ( FF) . her, the FF, and Senpai. I think it would better for developing Yanders understanding of not only romance but friendship. She would find out the FF likes Senpai (in the middle ) either by hearing her talk to Senpai about it or something, Yandere would plan to kill her, but after a couple of times where the FF shows that she cares about Yandere she choose to wait to do it later. Finally, both of them are having a sleepover, and that's when Yandere wants to kill the FF, but the FF tells Yandere that's she's been bullied all her life and Senpai saved her from drowning in pain, also the FF tells Yandere that she is the only female friend shes had in life since elementary and she's so grateful to have her in her life. Yander soon realizes that the FF is similar to her in many aspects, slowly started to open up to her, starting to care more about her, as if she was her little sister. And when the time comes she doesn't interfere with the FF and Senpai getting together ( if anything she helps ) I think this would be a great character ark for Yandere, to not only form a friendship type love which is on a whole other level. But to finally show that she does have emotions and with the whole selfless part where she chooses the FF happiness over hers shows that she has grown as a character. Yandere would also slowly realize that she doesn't romantically love Senpai, she cares deeply about him but not in a romantic way. (Ps ) You can keep the part where Senpai goes and visits her, but the FF also goes as well as showing their bond as a trio. Also, I feel like there should be parts to the story. In the beginning, it's mainly about Yandere's relationship with Senpai, but as time goes on in the game you see more of her with the FF (middle), and finally, more of Yandere learning about herself and who she is as a person( end ). Which could help lead up to the sense where we learn her real name. IDK (PSPS ) - to end the story on a happy note - You could have a male nurse help her with something and we as the viewer see her blush. IDK
I like this idea!! Maybe it can also go into a different ending wherein Yandere-chan can let go of Senpai so her friend and Senpai can be together OR Yan-chan and Senpai becomes a couple and her friend is the wingman!!
I think I would also be nice if there was an option to kill her before her backstory right after you find out she loves Senpai, after her backstory, and to keep her alive, each one going on to lead to different endings.
The research you do to remake her backstory needs to be appreciated more. It’s clear how much you care about the image of mental health and I really adore your remake of Yandere Chan. ❤️❤️❤️
I’d love any kind of story telling of this, whether it be a story, a webcomic, or even just a podcast of you talking more about it. I’m really enjoying the world your building with this.
Maybe have the first murder be an accident, when confronting a girl she perceived to be a threat of getting close to senpai out of a fit of rage she pushes her and she falls off the roof only realizing after what she has done. She regrets her actions but also has suppressed emotions of being at ease since she doesn't have to worry about her compromising her plans to be with senapi.
Saw on ART street that they made an art contest for the game. The Winner gets to make a game character for Yandere Simulator. Good luck getting him to even model it....
ten minutes in and i already like this revamp much more than i liked the last one, as someone who suffers from psychosis. thank you so much for listening and understanding the feedback of others like me
Ok I love this new version of her story! What I personally loved about the rewrites was making Yan-chan a more sympathetic character. In my comment of last video, I brought up the idea of writing a story for this. I still wish to do so, and with your permission, I'd like to sort of mix both of the versions together; She does have an unknown mental illness, but I'd like to stick with the delusions and the unwillingness for violence. But keeping the absolute terror of abandonment she has and combining that with some of the symptoms from the last video's concept would lead her to committing such acts rashly later on. I really like the idea of Taro helping Yan-chan cover up a murder, but my idea for it is that it only happens one time and it's much later on in the story, and it's probably the first if not only time she kills someone. She's confused and feels guilty, getting flashbacks from when she hurt her parents, panicking about being left behind if Taro were to find out. And he discovers her and the body, but what keeps him from immediately being afraid of Yan-chan is not only the memories of the psych ward and knowing her as a person, but the state she's in. After disposing of the body together, this leaves both of them stained. They both have committed the crime now, and that sort of works to bring them closer together. Because neither of them wanted this to happen, but it did and they got through it together. It also allows for Taro to see Yan-chan at her lowest, and if he does still love her, then it gives more reason to root for them. Taro may also become more observant around Yan-chan and make him able to notice when her mental state is getting worse and the like, to prevent something like last time from happening again. These are just some ideas I've had circling in my head. Feel free to share your opinion if you want!
i enjoy your ideas, it provides a lot more positive outlook on mental health rather than the original concept for yansim. i had my doubts in the first video when you discussed her psychiatric issues and psychosis, as that put a negative stigma on psychosis and mental issues being associated with villains. however, i think this idea is a lot more promising and i think it would be nice to hear about mechanics and dialogue options where she grows out of her manipulation and becomes genuinely caring about those around her besides senpai. perhaps side characters can have more influence, like a few female friends she can make that become more important? i think relationships in general are very important since she'd break out of just caring for senpai and she can make more meaningful and genuine connections with people around her.
This is really good, I also loved how you touched on her character more. However, it’d be very weird for her mysterious condition to be called “yandere disorder.” So I believe it should have a different name and I tried to make some conditions with root words and put them together, hopefully they’ll make sense: Olesensmania Acranisosis Anisoceriasis Ansensmania The symptoms: Lack of empathy Hallucinations Sudden outbursts Periods of sudden energy to periods of depression These are my suggestions, I hope you like it.
I think just by the nature of it being a "Yandere illness" extreme attachment and obsession should also be symptoms, I also think derealization should be a symptom
I love the name you gave Yan-chan. I admit I had to look up the meanings behind the names. Himari means “sunflower” & Sato has a lot of different meanings, the most common being “intelligent.” That’s adorable & so fitting for not only your version of the character, but for a Yandere. I love your little Intelligent Sunflower. :)
You and your critique/redesigns of YanSim helped inspire me to make my own redesign/rework of the story and I just wanted to say thank you and to let you know I’m SO excited to see your Senpai redesign!!
Adding onto what Ally had said for the "Good Ending", the "Bad Ending" could be that Yan-chan instead wakes up in the Psychward if Senpai rejects her/you don't succeed in getting senpai! The idea is that Yan-chan wakes up from her delusion of attending the same school of Taro and realizes that none of it is real and had slipped into a state where she was tryna protect herself from HERSELF by creating this world where she's with him, attending the school, making friends, etc etc. Thoughts?? Feel free to leave any critism or help me correct anything!
"It was all a dream" is by far the worst type of ending out there. It is basically a cheap plot twist that invalidates every single choice you made because none of it happened. Why be invested in a story if none of it happened? Why try getting senpai when you aren't actually going to get him? It destroys the replay value because it basically says, "None of your choices matter because none of this is actually happening." Plus, it is so upsetting to emotionally invest yourself in a story just for the writer to go, "JK, none of this happened! All your time, energy, and emotional investment was for nothing." You feel cheated.
I like the part her expression is kinda cute but in the same time "her gaze seems off but I can't put my finger on it...nah" kinda vibes. To be honest I like this version of her and even the storylines are very amazing. But wait, Taro went to a psychiatric ward once, right? does some students know about Taro being there?? just asking.
I'm super happy you decided to scratch the psychosis part, I remember feeling very icky about it when you mentioned it in your last video, because I personally struggle with psychotic episodes, and It breaks my heart every time I see characters who's violent and grotesque actions are somewhat "justified" by a psychotic episode. I know your intentions weren't bad by any means! I hope I don't come across as rude! I LOVE your new story so much, aaaah the good ending made me tear up LOL
I love this rewrite! I just have one thing to add. Depending on how this game will work I would lock the best ending behind the more complex and peaceful elimination methods. If Senpai is “uncorrupted” he still might not feel safe with a murderer - disregarding his ride or die personality. I think there could be some scenes where you talk to him. Depending on your answers you can either make him dislike you, manipulate him through things like word choice and association as well as with his condition or just be generally sweet with him (leading to the best ending). Maybe if you eliminate all the rivals peacefully you will stay in touch and be friends with them as well. Maybe if you win Senpai’s love by brutal murder and depending on your word choice he is more scared of you than in love you keep him more as an object to have as he sits there doing nothing, staying away from everyone but you because he knows you will kill those he loves if they try and come near. Just my silly little suggestions
A beautifully done story, beautifully done art, and a beautiful personality. You are absolutely amazing queen! I could totally see this as a game/anime
I really like the idea you have! It makes far more sense than what we have now. I'd like to imagine, while she's learning and aiming to manipulate hospital staff and medical professionals that she's okay, she begins to cry explaining about how she wants to get better and be able to be like everyone else(during an analysis on her). I think it would throw the staff off if it's their first time seeing her cry and convince them she's on the road to recovery. In reality, she begins to cry because of the overwhelming emotions/thoughts she gets from Taro and the thought of being able to see him again makes her emotional. I think a situation like that would both display her deceptive side to the staff while also showing she is capable of emotions when it comes to Taro. Anyways, that's enough of me rambling lol, great vid :^DD
Really glad you addressed and corrected the (not malicious!) misrepresentation of psychosis in the og backstory you made for her. Looking forward to watching the rest of the series, I'm late to the party but I'm really enjoying it so far
That's so great to see you doing what YanDev should have done since the beginning, like accepting review and fix some things without insulting anyone. You're doing a great job ! \o/
I found this channel recommended to me over some other people also redesigning characters from the game. I quickly got interested in this channel. I love that story line so far and I cuter as in the game there is really any way for senpai(taro) to fall in love with yan-Chan. This story line is more down to earth and original than canon. And ngl her new real name “sato himari” (I don’t if I spelled that right? I suck at spellings, I apologize) is a very pretty name and knowing a lot of Japanese names that name it self shows effort as “ayano” sounds like you just searched Japanese girl names and picked the first one. I love your work so far. And I am honestly falling in love with the story line. And the redesign is just beautiful and looks more characterizes and originalness? Anyway I love this so far I am gonna go binge watch the rest of the redesign
I think it's amazing to see you realize the issues with your original concept and take the feedback into consideration. I was a little put off by it myself, and I think it's great that you quickly realized it and rewrote it. I like this new version much better. Love your videos by the way
if this was a game ( like an original concept and not being rewritten off a game that will never be finished) i’d like to think it be called Love and Obsession
This is so sweet! I'm loving the direction you're going with this, I really love stories about mental health and you using the yandere trope to make something that isn't just "haha psycho waifu who is obsessed with this really bland guy edge go brrr" is really cool to me. I also just love her physical redesign, it's very pretty and much more mysterious than her official one.
Tbh I liked the first storyline for yandere chan that you came up with, only because I think it shows what happens if mental illnesses aren’t taken seriously enough and not treated, idk tho if you wanna change my mind go on
The issue is many people assume psychosis = Violence. When the reality is, most psychotic people are relatively harmless, easier to manipulate, and afraid.. but because the only real rep out there shows us as violent, people hear psychotic and think you're either violent, a stalker, or both.
I feel like you've changed the story And the characters enough to where you could just make this your own game! Yeah you'd probably need a color palette change for some of the characters but i feel like this isn't even yandere simulator anymore. This is something new and different and i love it
god i still adore this, the ideas did make me sorta ship Himari (?) and Senpai, they are really good and make you feel for these characters, and the good ending idea is just DELICIOUS .OOOOO.
I'm glad she changed the psychosis condition to yandere ... My mother stuffers from psychosis and keeps taking it out on me. I won't say more. ... This is all a big piece of hell that will never end. Hearing about characters with psychosis in anime games angers me and makes me feel like people just don't care.
the issue with Yanderes is that they inherently _do_ promote demonization of mental health, so i don't think there's any way you can win in that department, even with changing it from a severe case of psychosis to a fictional mental illness (which unfortunately sounds a lot like antisocial personality disorder aka psycopathy/sociopathy)
@@silverdrag0n_ Yeah, the whole "yandere" thing being used as a game's focal point is just bad in general. As someone with BPD who experiences heavy psychotic symptoms, it makes me feel so icky and ashamed to have a disorder I didn't choose to have in the first place.
Alright im two minutes and already feeling better from the last video. Stuff like this directly affects me and i deeply appreciate you taking the time to fix your mistakes on it. So many people just double down and honestly i was sad that i would feel uncomfortable watching the rest of the series. So thank you for taking the time to fix that.
So its still just repackaged bpd symptoms (like i said thats what a yandere is. A demonized and sexualized version of bpd) but i think this version is so much better. You showed that the option to be a good person exists and that the disorder is not the sole reason of a person doing bad things. Being abusive is a choice and i think its important to show that.
Yes this version is SO MUCH BETTER!!! Both in writing and representation. You seem to be focusing much more on the recovery aspect and how to make that appealing than the murder aspect. Thank you for taking the time to learn and fix things.
Also with the yandere condition I feel like it should have another name , I’ll edit when I have ideas but I think it should be something clever like a mishmash of two words (and yes i know that yandere is a mishmash already)
Maybe you can choose senpais gender too! You’re art is incredible! I’ve been watching you all morning and you’re voice is really soothing :) have a lovely day!
I would love an opportunity to if you work on relationships and build her understanding of emotions (including the relationships with senpai) that she would have the opportunity to have a video call with her mother and try to make amends. And depending on how genuine her ability to emote is, it would allow her to keep building that relationship and being a condition for the best ending. Maybe adding to the difficulty would be that the rivals would bring teach her about how to live a normal life if u befriend them instead of making enemies with them. Maybe a dumb idea but as a person who has felt the absence of a family member, I feel like the one thing I needed when I was her age was a conversation with them.
I'm not sure how prevalent it is irl, but since the game runs entirely on anime stereotypes, I do know that theres a decent number of shows that have high school kids living on their own if for example their family lived in the country and they needed to be in the city to go to school. That might also work, she could get a little apartment somewhere by herself.
Well now at the end I'm crying. It is just so beautifull. And now I realy would want to have exactly such a game. I've watched all the videos about this topic from you today and I realy like it. And it also has a charming mix of realism with practicaly everybody having some issues and at the same time the main charakter not dragging any condition into the mud by the "bad" choices the player would be able to perfom by introducing this new condition she has. I always love a good pinch of mental health advertisement and recognission in games, videos, etc. What I essentially want to say is, that you have done a great job and put together a beautifull story with the help of the suggestions.
I feel like this rewrite, along with the previous rewrite, would make a really really good visual novel. Im about to talk in the sense that the rewrite is reality, so call it an AU if you will. After the game is completed and rekeased, there's a spinoff visual novel game going more into depth about her past, or perhaps a seperate gamemode. It could also just be a feature in the game. I dunno, just a thought, I really like visual novels and hope to make one myself when I'm older
I probably have one of the worst represented mental illness in media. Specifically Schizophrenia it's portrayed in a horribly and in a violent way often. It seems they are unaware that we have empathy and do cry plus we don't always see hallucinations 24/7 nor do we hear them at every moment. Usually a more depressive mood causes them to occur more often. We are like everyone else, a little antisocial but that's fine. There's a huge misconception of people with schizophrenia being feelingless dolls and that's just completely untrue.
Okay but like going back off of the fact that yandere chan is actually able to display and feel emotions in this game, I can imagine cutscene you get as progress in the game focusing on your interactions with taro, maybe even at one point in the game, as you start building up all the anxiety and guilt from all the terrible things you done to prevent others from stealing your senpai, you have an immediate breakdown in front of taro. You don't exactly tell taro why you're crying, you just brush it off and tell him you have a lot of stress pent up from school. Taro gives you a warm reassuring smile as he tells you "I'm not sure what you're going through right now, but just know that I'm always here for you no matter what." His words of encouragement fill Yandere chan with happiness and determination, and as you progress on after the cutscene, some of the player's stress goes away and you become a bit more stable and happy from the validation and reassurance you've received.
Your art style is so cute 🥺🥺💕 It's my absolute favorite that I've ever seen. I'm really excited to see your next video! Your storylines are so intriguing and I always want to hear more. Chefs kiss 👩🍳🤌💋
Woah!! This is really interesting. Hopefully this will become a series or video game in the future. Also, huge respect for your mature approach to the criticism and rewriting it to not stigmatize mental health. I have autism and adhd, and being new to your channel, I didn't know you were learning nursing. Hoping everything works out fine, and thank you for listening to those who were concerned about your previous story involving the psychosis.
When I tell you I screamed! I'm so happy that you liked my idea, and I LOVE the name you picked out for her! I cant get your rewrite out of my head, I have so many ideas and I cant wait to hear your thoughts on sempai!!
Going off of the psychosis thing, if this game were to be made there could be a warning at the beginning of the game saying “It is extremely rare cases of psychosis where the person suffering from it will act out in such a manner as Yandare-chan, people with psychosis are not all bad people.”
Because I am a silly goose, I forgot to actually include my email for fanarts. If you want to send me your art, it's callimara.art@gmail.com

Yes

I get the reason it’s currently in the game is to create our “perfect lover” but this should be the story of a character that falls in love with another rather then blank slates we can self insert ourselves into
Maybe customization unlocks after beating the main game once?
High Sanity is +1 to Bond, 1.2x Trust
Neutral Sanity is +0 to Bond, 1.5x to Trust
Low Sanity is -1 to Bond, 1.8x to Trust
Min Sanity is -2 to Bond, x2 to Trust.
@@Tioko
I don't quite understand how being less sane increases your trust score, how does that make sense?
I think limiting your options at high sanity is enough of a penalty tbh.
Maybe if you perform a kill you are locked out of max sanity, with each subsequent murder lowering the sanity limit further?
@@sonicdml4175 Well, it’s an old comment, but I think this is what I meant:
Say you’re at low sanity, and you do an action that normally gives you +2 Trust. But with the low sanity modifier, you actually gain +4 Trust. However, if you do an action that gives -2 Trust, that also turns into -4 Trust. So it’s a risk-reward balance kind of thing.

Plot twist: senpai also has yandere syndrome. yandere X yandere
Your version of yan-chan is beautiful. And actually makes sense for the story
I think you could even make it simpler for the abandonment thing, mom and dad peace out but they don’t cut her off entirely. She gets a letter that says:
“we’re going to be gone for... ever. But we don’t want the shame of having abandoned you to ruin our good name. So you’re gonna live here and we’re gonna go live out the rest of our lives elsewhere. When you turn 18 you can have the house, but we’re done with you.”
I feel like that would help her get into the whole identity crisis thing more because she’s also faking having a happy family at home as well. And it puts a ticking time bomb on her life, because the second she’s 18 she’s on her own 100%. Nothing but an empty house and whatever education she can get before then.

As someone who has psychosis depression and other issues I appreciate you touching on this
Thinking about your revamp has made me realize that almost all the rivals don't make sense or are flat out problematic.
After seeing how wonderful you are, they tell you they've noticed your crush and they have your back
- A newer school friend is similar to childhood bestfriend but still works well. To make the good ending something you really have to work for, I think the way you'd have to beat this is befriend some other male character earlier on in the game that isn't straight and get them to confess to senpai's friend (you figure out their sexuality after being their friend long enough or you can alternatively join some sort of LGBT club)
- I like your idea of senpai being somewhat messed up like Ayano, so one rival should probably be someone of high status from inside and/or outside of school. This would be a hard task and would also put student eyes on you
- The younger sibling is pretty gross in the way Yandere dev presents it, but I think it could work if it isn't implemented with the incesty anime trope in mind. One night when you are stalking home, you are caught by his younger sibling. For however long they're the rival for, Ayano is used as their own little servant. In the good ending, you please them so much they have the respect to leave you alone (and maybe even tell senpai how good you are). The best perk of this rival is it adds a completely different challenge. removing the more rinse and repeat cycle you go through with other rivals
- The second to last rival could keep the delinquent concept but with a twist. By the time you learn about this rival, it's to late and they're already dating senpai. However, they are somewhat abusive and their aggressive nature and strength makes it hard for anyone to defy them. With all of this, Ayano is feeling outraged and violent, making her mental issue worse then usual. In a good outcome, you'd have to prevent yourself from killing the girl and either convince them to leave senpai alone or get senpai to break up with them himself
- The final rival should be Senpai himself. Players shouldn't be required to use much of their precious time for investigating and plotting with buddying up with him, so this last challenge gives proper build up
That is genius
*HOLY FUCK OK THATS IT THATS THE LAST STRAW GET ME MY VISUAL NOVEL CODING NOTES, SNUGGLE-MUFFINS THE THIRD!!! WE ARE MAKING THIS VISUAL NOVEL STARTING AT 0500 ON THE DOT GET THE CREDITS READY, BOYS WE'RE GOING IN IMMEDIATELY.*
the way you ended the video with yandere-chan's name gave me chills omg
IDK
(PSPS ) - to end the story on a happy note - You could have a male nurse help her with something and we as the viewer see her blush.
I really love your version sm, honestly its lowkey better than the original woops, anyways moon playing in the bg😫
moon 😭😭😭
Dam now senpai actually sounds like an interesting character and sounds like husband material.
i enjoy your ideas, it provides a lot more positive outlook on mental health rather than the original concept for yansim. i had my doubts in the first video when you discussed her psychiatric issues and psychosis, as that put a negative stigma on psychosis and mental issues being associated with villains. however, i think this idea is a lot more promising and i think it would be nice to hear about mechanics and dialogue options where she grows out of her manipulation and becomes genuinely caring about those around her besides senpai. perhaps side characters can have more influence, like a few female friends she can make that become more important? i think relationships in general are very important since she'd break out of just caring for senpai and she can make more meaningful and genuine connections with people around her.
This is really good, I also loved how you touched on her character more. However, it’d be very weird for her mysterious condition to be called “yandere disorder.” So I believe it should have a different name and I tried to make some conditions with root words and put them together, hopefully they’ll make sense:
Olesensmania
Acranisosis
Anisoceriasis
Ansensmania
The symptoms:
Lack of empathy
Hallucinations
Sudden outbursts
Periods of sudden energy to periods of depression
These are my suggestions, I hope you like it.
the fact that this isn’t canon makes me so upset 🥲
I’ve never clicked so fast
Same
You constantly trying to find a pose for that arm is a mood
You and your critique/redesigns of YanSim helped inspire me to make my own redesign/rework of the story and I just wanted to say thank you and to let you know I’m SO excited to see your Senpai redesign!!
I absolutely love her real name! I can't wait what you have in store for us next!
Himari will make real friends? She can't have just senpai, she need other types of love...
We should make a whole new game with this story, brb I'm learning how to code (properly)
A beautifully done story, beautifully done art, and a beautiful personality. You are absolutely amazing queen! I could totally see this as a game/anime
Oh my gosh, I was just watching your other videos on this and thinking "Awww, there's no more..." This is actually perfect timing. :D
Here for support. I hear LJ is being a twerp.
You are loved and supported.
Really glad you addressed and corrected the (not malicious!) misrepresentation of psychosis in the og backstory you made for her. Looking forward to watching the rest of the series, I'm late to the party but I'm really enjoying it so far
That possible good ending, plus the piano music playing gave me the shivers
That's so great to see you doing what YanDev should have done since the beginning, like accepting review and fix some things without insulting anyone.
You're doing a great job ! \o/
Well...I just watched your revamping ayano video. So this came at the right time lol.
Anyway I love this so far I am gonna go binge watch the rest of the redesign
i *love* your version of yandere-chan. she seems so real and her story makes a lot more sense than the original! i think it’s really cool!!
I think it's amazing to see you realize the issues with your original concept and take the feedback into consideration. I was a little put off by it myself, and I think it's great that you quickly realized it and rewrote it. I like this new version much better. Love your videos by the way
Hell yes! This is so well-researched and good for the genre it fills.
if this was a game ( like an original concept and not being rewritten off a game that will never be finished) i’d like to think it be called Love and Obsession
bro idk when i wrote this what ?
keep on scaring myself with comments i wrote
Thank you for changing the psychosis thing!
This will be good it's good to take feedback from fans! (✧u✧)
Came here from creepshow art and I subbed because your channel is amazing! So glad I was able to find you with her suggestion. Your art is amazing!
Which video is it? I wanna hear shannon going on about callimara lol
I'm glad she changed the psychosis condition to yandere
...
It also vaguely sounds like NPD or BPD in some cases.
@@phirerising didn't pick up on that, but unfortunately that doesn't surprise me, since cluster B is already heavily stigmatized.
You are so incredibly intelligent AND talented. Plus, you have immaculate music taste. Subscribed.
Ah this redesign just gets better and better! Super excited to hear about Taro next!!
16:50 IS THAT MOON I HEAR 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 DUDE I LOVE U
SURE IS!!!
@@callimara AHHH!! 😭😭💜💜
Taro gives you a warm reassuring smile as he tells you "I'm not sure what you're going through right now, but just know that I'm always here for you no matter what."
His words of encouragement fill Yandere chan with happiness and determination, and as you progress on after the cutscene, some of the player's stress goes away and you become a bit more stable and happy from the validation and reassurance you've received.
Sato Himari is sooo perfect for her character that you draw c:
I love this channel so much! I'm so glad I found it!
Your art style is so cute 🥺🥺💕 It's my absolute favorite that I've ever seen. I'm really excited to see your next video! Your storylines are so intriguing and I always want to hear more. Chefs kiss 👩🍳🤌💋
I genuinely want to play this! Excited to follow your rewrites and it would honestly be an awesome game (specially when compared to yandere simulator)
I love this so much! I’d love to see more videos based off of this “remake.” You’re so creative!!
The part where you were stuck on drawing the hand was such a mood to me lmao
Thank you for addressing and fixing the mistakes made in the last video!
I really like this story version, than the last one before 😆😆, also I LOVE YOUR ARTTTT
