- Akira Toriyama (鳥山 明), might be the most well-known manga artist in the world. He is the mind behind the popular dragon ball Z, created the illustrations for Chrono trigger and character and monster designer for the Dragon quest series.

I have known Mr. Toriyama since I was a writer for Shonen Jump, and at the recommendation of my editor, Mr. Torishima, I decided to ask him to draw pictures for the game when we launched Dragon Quest. In the more than 37 years since then, he has designed the characters, designed the monsters, and drawn so many fascinating characters that I can't even begin to count them. The history of Dragon Quest has been with Mr. Toriyama's character designs. Mr. Toriyama and the late Mr. Sugiyama were longtime friends of mine who worked on Dragon Quest.

02:33 to me personally the real Goku left in that image, I remember how emotional it was to see the last cover of the Manga... after that in my opinion the Goku we saw in GT and so on lost most of his soul, like a clone used for franchise objectives. This goodbye image means a lot to me, is part of my life, seeing the little kid with the yellow cloud growing into a wise and inspiring figure... Akira created a magical and incomparable world 🎉
GT Goku is good for the circumstances but you are right. That was the real Goku leaving. He has not been the same in any canon since, with the expection of that 2008 special

Toriyama's style always fascinated me because it's so different from most of the stuff you see. His inspirations on Osamu Tezuka and western cartoons are clear as day and helped him define his signature artstyle.

Toriyama in an interview said that during the production of DB there was a week in which he only slept 20 minutes and said it was as if he was dying...bro that man was really passionate about his work he did it above all for the fans no longer for the money anymore, at least now he can rest in peace...Rip GOAT🕊️❤️

RIP Akira Toriyama.. i remember when in 1985. My dad bought me a belt and a bag with dr. Slump and arale on it. That is the first time i know akira toriyama's art before knew it was his.

RIP Akira Toriyama . So here is a small story . in 2002 my sister who was one years old was went to a hospital , After she ate mt brother sleeping meds . My dad drop me and older brother ate are uncle place and i remember one night he pick us . Took was to Walmart and me and brother played Dragon ball Z budokai 1 . We played though at game . Right after Christmas break ended . My dad would drive us to philly to see my mom and my sister . She was unable to speak because she had a tube . And i remember at that time . Me and brother to do something and not to think about are mom and are sister was dragon ball what would me a 7 and my brother 9 years old kid would do to help . we couldn't do anything . But they would let us watch dragon ball and i remember it was Goku vs Krillin in the world tournament . And I'm glad i brought my brother back into dragon ball z from the resurrection f trailer . We saw Super Broly day one . We watched Super hero twice .

Toyotarou (とよたろう Toyotarō) is the author of the spin-off manga Dragon Ball Heroes: Victory Mission
There is speculation that Toyotarou was the artist known as "Toyble", who created the unofficial Dragon Ball AF doujinshi in the 2000s

THanks for the comment; my old crappy mic needed a high background noise filter which killed much of the audio. Reactions like these are at least a year too late if you get what I mean. My newer content is not perfect, but sound way better.

His work on Tobal may have some of the best designs in fighting games in hindsight
5:10 this softer look works best for Dragon Quest cause its hilarious but doesnt look right when he revists Dragon Ball Z with that style. Looks good but makes Z only okay instead of the usual greatness.
What makes his Tobal work sick is how he wasnt scared to make buff 300 pound women. I havent seen a fighting game do that until SF6. Sure Tam Tam turns buff in Samurai Showdown 2 but thats only for a second.
3:09 he didn't draw this piece but this is the same way they should duplicatd Toriyama's artstyle. It just don't feel right not seeing his style in media.
