If you litter box train then you can let them run around the house like cats

Three orphaned opossums I raised while living in the Ozarks were allowed to go free in the house after getting them trained to their potty 'box'. It went perfectly, they enjoyed all the freedom and never missed or soiled the house. Like so many other creatures, they employ gentle nipping to explore things with their mouths and those little bites are harmless.

At least he's giving them a high-calcium diet (needed to prevent MBD).

I have 2 in my house, I guess they followed my cats inside. They eat cat food and they sleep in my dresser drawers under my pedestal bed. They hiss at me, but one will let me pet it.

We are seeing possums here in Minnesota. They have nests in the hay and straw bales that originate in Missouri , Nebraska, ect. Winters here are not mild so it would be of interest to see how many survive.

Oh no. You should not keep them in a tank. Please move them to a tall wired cat cage. They'll be much happier.

Give them a raw chicken wing from time to time, its a special treat and they need the calcium and minerals from the bones, raw only, not cooked!

Why do you keep picking them up by the tail, don’t you think that would hurt? it’s literally an extension of their spine

Don't forget about the stinky smell they secrete from their butts if they get scared! That stuff is so bad! lol Usually only happens a few times when little. Mine sleeps in a large dog kennel with a box inside and hangs out in a huge cat tree during day. Check her out on my vids!
