    This is the next project for "my" group. We make and donate quilts to the Cancer Center in our town. Love that there is no waste, uses scraps and two for one is BONUS!!! Thank you.

    Now THIS is Quilting Quickly with no waste - LOVE it! I also like that you remind us to set the seams and why it's important. At first I just thought you were setting aside the smaller triangle square/half-square triangles to save up with all our other scraps from other quilts to possibly make something out of them in the future, and thought what a waste of an expensive two layer cakes. But to see the smaller second quilt that can be made at the same time makes this a jackpot pattern. Nice going, ladies.

    I love this quilt! I added a white border to the first quilt and then used the triangles to make another border around the whole quilt. I added one more white border and then will make a scrappy binding to finish it off!

      I watch you and Jean all the time. I admire and applaud your skills. I'm only a beginner having moved to the country I finished my first quilt and got hooked and now of course have a fabric stash.... I never knew in a million years there was so much colour and variety in fabrics. I used to live in the city and did not sew for 15 years. I love all your videos. Monica from Australia

    Note to self:
    80 x 10" square printed fabric,
    160 x 5 1/2" squares white = 20 big blocks
    Small triangles - make a baby or lap quilt.

    Fico encantada com o trabalho de vocês, não falo nada em inglês 😂😂 por isso gostaria muito que se possível tivesse pelo menos as medidas em legendas.

    Great ideas. Do you square up each large block as you make it?

    • @6quilter4
      @6quilter4 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Usually when I'm make a large number of blocks like this, I construct the blocks and then go back and square-up everything. Just in case I have variation in my sewing, I spot-check before trimming to insure I can trim them all to the same size.

    What 10" squares did you use for the Scrappy duo Quilt?

  • @sbspgirl21
    @sbspgirl21 10 ปีที่แล้ว

    So what do u use for the back? Or in the middle??

    • @6quilter4
      @6quilter4 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Since I'm not sure what you are referring to I'll cover all the possibilities
      Background fabric - white solid - 3-3/4 yards
      Backing (the back side of the finished quilt) - 5-1/2 yards of quilters choice fabric:)
      Cotton batting (middle of the quilt sandwich)

    You should put your pins to the side so you don't have to stop and pull them out as you sew.

    • @6quilter4
      @6quilter4 10 ปีที่แล้ว

      Liz Turney I come to quilting from years of "garment construction". Force of habit - I'm so used to sewing with them there that when I'm not on camera I can remove them without stopping the needle. Also, the further the pins are from the seamline the more chance for shifting to occur.
