❤ AMAZING! thanks for this tutorial, great for a beginner like me. How come this video is 3 years old? I barely discover your tutorials like 3 months ago and I'm fascinated on how easy and pretty quilts are in your tutorials, thanks again 😊
😍😍So sorry I am just catching this .I am trying to catch up on the comments. Will do better in the future. Thanks for watching our lives. We appreciate it !!!!!!
Thanks for saying this -- I just came here looking for tips on how to place the smaller piece accurately. My "just eyeball it!" method is not turning out well...
Pretty sure you could. If your fat quarter is 18x22 You can get two 10” squares (to cut diagonally)and two to three 7” squares out of it. Cut the 7” ones diagonally to get the smaller triangle needed. You won’t get that little extra strip Teancum got when he cut down the second triangle ( the piece he said it could be used as binding) Looks like you would get enough pieces out of a FQ to make 4 blocks. You’ll still need to have the accent strip fabric.
Cut a 10” strip by width of fabric and subcut into two 10” squares. Then from the remaining piece (should be 8” wide by WOF) cut a 7 “ strip by width of fabric and sub cut into two 7” squares. These will be cut diagonally to give you the smaller 7” triangle. Not really that much waste. You could cut the remaining fabric into strips for “some”of the binding but you’ll still need a more to get it long enough. Depending how big you want to make the quilt will decide how many blocks you’ll need. If you want a 5x7 block quilt then you’ll need 35 blocks. Since you’ll get 4 blocks from each FQ you’ll need 9 FQs (plus the accent fabric strips).
Great quilt, but it would be better for your demos, if you acknowledge your mistakes. The white block in that row was turned the wrong way. We all make mistakes. We're human.

Thank you so much!
It's amazing how such a simple block can make such a stunning quilt. It'd be a great way to use up orphan layer cake blocks & large scrap pieces.
It really is!
Just got a layer cake I purchased on the Saturday Night Destash. This is definitely the pattern I’ll be trying out on it. Thanks Teancum 💖
Let us know how it turns out! Thanks for watching.
Love this quilt!!
Especially, love the white on white block!!
Wow! Thanks for watching!
I like Teancum's videos. He makes it look so easy!! Also, he's good to look at. How does he sew standing up?
Thank you so much!💖
👍🫶🤗
I love the way this looks with the solids.
Thanks Donna!
Hi,Donna
Love this!!
Thanks for watching!
Ok how the heck did ya just make this!!! Holy guacamole 🎉🎉🎉
Teancum is adorable
👍🤨
I could see this being done with a jelly roll and background fabric as the 10" so the stripes are color instead of white.
Great idea! You could make Teancum’s version and your suggested ‘reverse’ version out of 1 layer cake!
You can do that
This is a stunning quilt!
Thanks, Mary!
Hello, how are you doing my friend
Beautiful quilt, Teancum! You always give such clear instructions!
Stay well!💜
Thank you! You too!
You are a great teacher!💕
Thank you! 😃
Pretty!
Love this quilt! How are you pressing the seams? Open or one side? It looks like the seams are pressed towards the white 2.5 inch fabric. Thanks!
Thanks for watching!
Great teaching!
Thanks for watching! 😊
I really like this quilt. Thank you

Okay okay, I like it, I like it. Will try it.
Please do!
Would be more frugal only cut the strip when squaring up.
I agree. I might try it today
👍👍👍😊
Love the quilt
Thanks! You should try it.
Love it
Glad you like it!
Are the colors in the quilt hanging on the wall (the solids) available in a pre-cut layer cake? If they are let me know and I definitely want one!
As you probably have guessed we are behind in answering comments. Trying to catch up and stay that way. I'm sure you have found the answer by now.

Thanks so much!
Very similar to GE Designs HOPE quilt, but easier. FYI If you fold and make a crease mark it helps to find center placements.
Thanks for the info!

When you sew the blocks together to make 1 row and then another and so on, which way do you press it then?
Thanks for watching. You can press it on either side. We always press the back to get it all flat. Send us a picture if you make it!
@@SewYeah So you actually press the seams open then? You bet I will after I get it finished!
Sashing separates blocks so they are framed and not touching. I think you mean stripes.
Thanks so much for watching!!🫶😊
Awesome
Thanks!
At 0:14 and 0:20... I think you mean “layer cake” or “10 inch stacker” - not “jelly roll”
It uses both jelly roll and layer cake so he was not completely wrong
😊😊😊
Can you use fat quarters for this?
Pretty sure you could. If your fat quarter is 18x22 You can get two 10” squares (to cut diagonally)and two to three 7” squares out of it. @@chriscabana1897 thank you for doing the math which I suck at!! Lol
You can get 2 x 10" from a fat quarter, but there would be a lot of waste
Cut a 10” strip by width of fabric and subcut into two 10” squares. Then from the remaining piece (should be 8” wide by WOF) cut a 7 “ strip by width of fabric and sub cut into two 7” squares. Love this method for fq.. That's 4 blocks per fat quarter. Nice
What is the size of the finished square?
Hello Mara
9.5" square is what you trim the blocks down to. It's in the video around 5 minutes.
Thanks so much for watching!!🫶😊

Welcome back!
The “vanishing ink” does not totally vanish. Ask people who live in cool to cold climates.
🤔🤔😒👍👍
That is a layer cake not a jelly roll

Ok we will try to do better!😒😒Thanks for watching!
Thats a layer cake 1:12
