Just gonna copy and paste my comment to reply to this one: Proguides, i love ya, but this disrespect and just completely fake information about my main plant is soooooo disappointing. Pretty much everything you said about plant is wrong and as a matter of fact, villager is one of the easiest match ups for a decent plant player. Villagers speed, mobility, and counter options are so bad that it makes it insanely easy to 3 stock a villager. Its only counter is pocket which only works for ptooey. And it only works for ptooey if the plant aims it bad. And ptooey is definitely not plants only good move. Down b is arguably atleast 3x better because it makes him immobile which is great for having high percentage because then he cant get launched while also being able to cover the entire stage with a move that does like 22%. Side b is insane and can easily get 60-70% damage from 0% if done correctly. If immobilized, it will drain them so fast. Plants grab is amazing as well, so much damage and so much throwing distance for combos. I can go on and on about moves. Up b, the recovery is one of the best in the game. Up a, and its spike side a are insane because of how easy it is to hit for so much damage. All in all, villager is one or the easiest characters to beat for a half decent plant main.
@@kousakabeans I’m not a plant main but I doubt a lot of the things you are saying. It doesn’t matter how well you “aim the ptooey” because a good villager main can pocket on reaction, and the massive hitbox pocket has just adds insult to injury. You mention moves like side B and down B, but those are practically unusable moves in neutral. Villager shuts down the only effective gameplan Piranha Plant has, which revolves around using ptooey, while Villager can easily zone out Piranha Plant, who is known for having slow and laggy moves. At best this matchup is -1 for Pirahna Plant, so I don’t think ProGuides has spread any misinformation.

@yeetus Palu doesn’t have a « quick » reflector per say, she does have one so yeah megaman lives a hell of a life but I don’t think the reflector as a lot to do with it
honestly I'd say its not a big deal. normally, I just spam leaf shield against people that want to spam reflectors, but since bounce stays on hero just run away, use dtilt, fair, bair, dsmash, usmash, grab, it only last 8 seconds, and as long as you dont use fmsmash upair or dair you will be fine. Even Megaman's WORST matchups are perfectly doable.
You should also consider how horrible the Lucario - Bayo MU is. Bayo having a horrible kill power, killing at an average of 170% while Lucario simply enjoys it, sideB's her at 80 and she dies just to repeat the story the next stock, until at 200%+ Lucario dies of a throw.
@@HDzTroll hi! Bayo player here, the frame 1 grenade can only do so much for snake. Bayo is able to hit around the grenade to disable it and not deal with it and still get her combos. This leaves him with his horrible frame 4 air dodge. However in this doesn't save this MU from being -2 for bayo still lol
Incineroar vs. Isabelle. Villager’s gameplan still involves approaching, allowing Incineroar to reasonably counter, but Isabelle’s trap oriented approach and fishing rod makes it stupidly hard for Incineroar to land any hits.
Steve also struggles against the f*cking puppy. His approach leaves much to be desired, even his gold side b. Even his amazingly unique up b can’t dodge isabelle’s crap. And steve already sucks in juggling. Advantage is steve’s only good spot, but when neutral wins are rarer than an enchanted golden apple in a desert temple, he needs to learn how to win in a losing position.

The description with Villager and Piranha Plant also makes it sound like an excellent doubles team. Have Villager pocket his partner's Ptooie, and Villager is instantly armed with a 40% projectile that can kill at 50% at ledge.

I feel like Ness vs Snake is really really bad for Snake, Psi Magnet invalidates most of his gameplan. If Snake insists on using explosives, Magnet might heal anywhere between 100% to 200% over the course of an entire match while fighting Snake, which means Ness is basically playing with an extra stock.
Snake has roll and up tilt. In my opinion, those are among the most broken moves in the game and grenade is not that important. As for Ness's weaknesses, in my opinion, Ness is weak to attacks from below, which up tilt is a great choice for, and roll attack also catches landings. Snake can also tech chase with grab, down smash and roll attack, which is very dangerous.
I'm a Young Link main. The Shulk matchup feels so oppressive. Shulk can just play his game and it directly counters all of Young Link's attributes. Monado range invalidates all of the projectiles, even the bombs, and his frame data is good enough that I'm still at a disadvantage when I try to take the fight straight to them. It's pretty rough
@HeclFrecl His air mobility HAS to be slow tho, because of how strong his ariels are. As a Dedede main Dedede with good air speed is a dream come true, but it gives non Dedede mains nightmares
Can y'all do the most volatile matchups in the game? Where characters can take turns destroying each other...one that comes to mind is Ganondorf vs Fox (or most glass canons). Maybe the Roy mirror too lol

I feel like Rosa Vs Ness deserves a shout-out. She can just cancel his recovery every time he's offstage, and luma is really hard to deal with for Ness
@@SamiJ1508 I don't feel as bad for this one tho. Link's disjointed and/or fast aerials makes it easier to get rid of Luma, and Link has confirms to get % or stocks when he manages to land a hit. Not to mention that, unlike PK fire and thunder, Rosa can't absorb arrows and boomerang for free because of the great frame data of those moves, making them at least usable in the neutral, and Link can recover against her. Tho I can see Rosa forcing Link players to shift their gameplan, I don't think it's as bad as Ness/Rosa
It was really bad in smash 4 but now that rosalina is worse and ness having more mixups with magnet and directional air dodge it’s not all that bad, I’m sure some ness main is going to tell me how it’s a 110-0 matchup but ok.
WiiFit versus Villager is actually worse. They can just pocket your soccer ball and your side B becomes useless cause you can't spawn another ball. I as a WiiFit main despise playing against Villager. 😑
Shulk does really well against characters that want to get in close and land combos, but is actually not great against characters whose gameplans don’t involve either of those things, like a lot of swordies, a few superheavies, and certain zoners. Overall, the character is pretty strong though.
@Carter Gieni as a min min player, a good snake is problematic because his projectiles force min min to shield and when min min can’t move it’s difficult to keep distance. Plus snake can cover her landing options and side b of stage is so good at edge guarding her too.
Min min will single handedly keep kazuya out of top tier. Though realistically I dont think kazuya is THAT strong in general. Upper mid at worst. Probably better than that

honestly I'd say its not a big deal. normally, I just spam leaf shield against people that want to spam reflectors. promise they will stop after you get 5-6 off in their face for free. Even Megaman's WORST matchups are perfectly doable. just dont ever chargee fsmash and be careful using upair and dair.
And then olimar grabs you down throw up smash up smash up air up air and your at 80 this match is not olimars favor but i dont think its one of the worst in the game not to forgett that olimar is so small what makes it so hard to land sweet spots.
Have you fought a good one yet? I don’t play either character so I’m not really one to talk but the way Duck Hunt’s tools can so easily negate the tools that Samus has to rely on seems very skewed in the dog’s favour. Unless you are able to land a controller spike and tech chase the controller’s bounce on the floor into a well-timed destruction of property (keep in mind that the opponent can counter play by camping you out afterward with a fully-charged lawsuit), then this matchup seems really difficult.
@@alolamao833 I mean, they're assuming full charge shot is being used, when pretty much every good Samus player rarely uses full charge shot. Charge shot is mainly used to force choices on your opponent for the Samus player to take advantage of, so they tend to fire more partial charge shots more frequently. Clashing with other projectiles is not that big of an issue when you do that. Duck Hunt's projectiles may trade with charge shot, but basically every single one of them has worse end lag than partial charge shot, and most of them have worse startup, can being the exception, but can is integral to Duck Hunt's neutral, so it's not always going to be available to tank a shot. And that's just one aspect of the matchup. Samus has better neutral overall, can punish Duck Hunt's recovery safely, and is a heavy character, while Duck Hunt has few true kill setups and generally poor kill power, so Samus should be living to high percentages each stock. Honestly, the matchup isn't that bad. The clip they showed just had a player with no good idea on the matchup, and didn't seem to realize that Samus needs to be the aggressor, and firing smash missiles wasn't going to win in the interaction.
I think Rosalina vs Pacman is probably worse than Duckhunt vs Samus, I remember watching Tea vs Dabuz on LMBM and Rosa's downb practically eliminated Pacmans gameplan, removing the hydrant and stealing his fruits. And even without the downb the fruit collided with Luma similar to Samus v Duck hunt,
Ness VS Rosalina is also a terrible matchup. Neutral isn't to bad for Ness. But recovering is nearly impossible when Rosa can just suck away your up B from miles away. (Lucas can recover slightly better thanks to his snek theter)
Yoshi is absolute hell for Puff to deal with. Yoshi shuts down Puff's biggest strength (Her air mobility) with his aerials having more range and power. She also has a hard time getting back down when she gets juggled by the Dino's Up air.

Byleth has less pressure on land, I would imagine. Grounded Up B might invalidate quite a few Byleth options since Byleth has to commit and that punishes commitment hard.
This might be biased since I main Steve, but I think that Steve - Shulk is worse than Young Link - Shulk. *1.* There is no way to get in on Shulk since Steve has low range *2.* Shulk has no trouble dealing with blocks whatsoever since 1 nair is enough to destroy a 3 high block wall (So Steve rarely gets to do any mining) *3.* Steves combos (that usually deal massive damage) can be easily escaped with shield art, but good look getting a combo started on Shulk anyway. *4.* Steve is pretty light, so smash art kills him super early. Still a good list tho
While this is definitely a bad MU for Steve, I wouldn't say it's as bad as you'd think it is. First up, the combo game. Steve's normal combos don't work on shield shulk, that is true, but oddly enough, he is one of the only characters who can still combo Shield Shulk anyways. It won't deal as much damage (0-to-death optimal combos become a max of 30-40%, usually a bit lower), but it's still far better than most character can do against shield art. Second, Steve's approach. You're right in that Steve has weaker range than Shulk, but there absolutely is one tool that Steve has that can get in on Shulk - Minecart. Minecart's projectile is actually pretty decent at pushing Shulk back into a corner, since he can't shield it and is forced to jump or use a committal defensive option (rolls, etc). It doesn't immediately lead into damage since Steve is so slow, but it does allow you to back Shulk into a corner, where he actually has to fight you. Finally, Steve's ledgetrapping. If you ever get a Shulk off-stage with a bit of time to spare, congratulations, you take the stock. Shulk's ledge roll is actually a little unique in that he can't roll past a TNT placed right on ledge, which lets Steve do a whole bunch of incredibly easy and free ledge-trapping setups that basically auto-kill a Shulk at ledge. It only works on Shulk, no one else, kinda weird.
@@poeticdavide I've lost to plenty of them, and I'm in the top less than one percent online with my whole roster. Play her at a high level against opponents that know what they're doing and games against her are just as free as games for her, not so much a character thing as it as a how to play the MU thing. The hate for this character is 100% wifi scrubs whining since sakurai made an actually decent zoner. yes she has good matchups, but none of them matter so nearly much if you ban fd and use platforms.
I would have also included it at least mentioned Roy in the ganon vs pikachu one as he also has among the worst matchups in the game against pikachu not in neutral but offstage
Banjo Kazooie vs Isabelle is the worst matchup period. She takes his grenegg and you cant use it until you take her stock. Its a horrible matchup period.

As a puff main, puff and disjoints When your opponent knows what you’re gonna do (grab or use aerials), you get spaced out until the timer hits 0 You may be able to predict one or two early spaced moves and punish with a 0-70 or 0 to death, but they still have more lives left I will admit i’ve taken wins because my opponents are impatient lol

Dedede vs min min is obviously the worst in the game, dedede can’t do anything, because he has the slowest air speed in the game, he’s big, his up b is highly telegraphable, his gordo can be always reflected, he just has no tools
As a Piranha Plant main, part of me disagrees Villager/Isabelle being his worst matchup. It’s a disgusting matchup nonetheless, but through personal experience, I’ve personally found Snake to be Plant’s nightmare. Grenades and C4 completely wall out his approaches and unlike Villager/Isabelle, who are fairly light and can die early (also exploitable recovery), Snake is heavy and his recovery can be safely maneuvered + super armor on most frames. Also. Villager can only pocket on spike ball at a time. Plant is safe to camp villager with more spike balls and poison gas. Snake outranges and can decimate Plant at the ledge. His projectiles are just so much superior to Plant’s, which as you said, are Plant’s game plan. Maybe there’s a few details I’m forgetting, but from personal experience, Plant struggles more severely against Snake than from Villager.
I was kinda expecting Villager vs. Hero. Hero gets bounce so often that Villager only gets to use only 3 aerials and his grounded moves can’t really get in. Tree, forward air, back air, bowling ball and lloid are crucial to his neutral that bounce literally invalidates his neutral.
As a Bowser main, I feel IMPOSSIBLE to win against an excellent Falco. There's just no way: their speed and combo game make it impossible (same as with Pikachu).
everyone vs bowser/ganon/mgnw because it depends on how low IQ the opponent has, the lower the more chances of you returning your nintendo switch to your local game store
King K Rool vs Villager is HORRIBLE for the croc. Any time the KKR is offstage, the bowling ball totally counters the vertical recovery from KKR. And you can just charge that smash as long as you want Plus that little jerk steals the crown, which is the main neutral tool for KKR, and also good tech for landing out of disadvantage using the super armor
If you think about it: Any character that can absorb projectiles is not bad against Ness. And Ness has a move That absorbs projectiles so Ness is better and worse than Ness
How did g&w not appear a single time on this list? he can destroy almost any character who is tall or doesnt have great landing/recovery options. and also shulk vs doc is just shulk vs yonk except take away yonk’s mobility, projectiles, disjoint, and recovery.

Worst matchup : Peach vs Slope Peach has her gameplay based on float cancels but it only goes horizontal so it makes peach impossible to move while floating near the ground because Slope cancels the float
I feel like Incineroar vs the Belmonts is worse than Luigi vs the Belmonts. All of the problems Luigi has are x10 with Incin and the pokemon doesn't even have insane grab punishes. Add in a recovery that's even worse than Luigis and you have a recipe for disaster, and that's before we talk about how bad Incin is at getting off the ledge, a vital tool to win vs the Belmonts
Yoshi vs Puff is really difficult for Puff as she gets a lot of mileage on the fact that jumping out of combos isn’t an option for the rest of the cast. Combine that with a down air that chews shield, an aim-able projectile, and a up air and back air that hit like a truck, and you have an incredibly difficult match up for the poor low/mid tier.
Ice Climbers Vs Inceneroar. This matchup I found favours Icys heavily. And it becomes really depressing. Inceneroar, always never gets to do his bread and butter(side B).
I don't think it's the worst match-up but a pretty bad match-up for Pit is captain falcon. Because of multi-hits, slow speed and floatiness, there's almost nothing Pit can do against raptor boost (only tipper F-tilt, tipper bair, down smash and down air deal >10% in a single hit and they all put you in bad or unreasonable positions to punish it). Add on cpt's 1/3 1/3 1/3ish neutral when you take into account grab and standard attacks and pit's general neutral falls apart. His superior ledgetrapping and juggling state with his speed and falcon dive (pit's Down-B, his only disadvantage mixup, gets beat by grabs and his floatiness makes for a bad time in general) just forces pit into the corner and never lets him out. My friend might just be better than me but I've locked that match-up as not worth it
as a plant main, it’s pretty hard to beat villager but once you learn and react to their actions you can kind of avoid it. man i hate villager either way
I play Ridley and Jigglypuff and the worst mashup for me is Ike vs Puff. It's winable, but really hard to find opening when you fight one of the safest landing n-air in the game with that big hitbox.
As somebody who uses Piranha plant I can 100% say it's the worst matchup. Believe me I have tried over and over again and it's just impossible if the villager player is even halfway decent.
Another matchup worth mentioning in this video would have been Falco vs King K. Rool. K Rool's only legitimately average neutral tool is crown, and falco has a frame 1 reflector, meaning K Rool basically has 0 options to approach whatsoever or any tools to gain any sort of space. When falco and K rool do have to scrap, falcos buttons hilariously outshine K Rool's on every front, and he gets cutscened harder than any character in the game once he gets up tilted. Up tilt bair from falco works until hilariously high % vs him. As if this wasn't bad enough, falco dair also trades with K Rool's up B SUPER reliably, meaning it's even a struggle to recover as K rool which is otherwise his most acceptable trait as a character.
Me and my friends tried another bad match up, which is Game and Watch versus Donkey Kong. I played as GW and I gotta say, it was REALLY interesting to play.
K Rool v Villager is awful due to Pocket. Once crown is pocketed, K Rool will never get it back until he dies or Villager does. It takes away his key zoning tool, and it is rough. K Rool v Rosalina is another awful matchup due to her down B cancelling Kanonball, and allowing her to essentially always get his crown if thrown.
K rool isn't a zoner, his crown is used to force the opponent to approach and fail/get beaten out, which is what k rool wants over keeping them away. He still has his best tools of fair and nair
If you play Donkey Kong, you simply get destroyed by 90% of the roster. He is seriously the WORST character that everyone plays online. I don’t understand why he’s so commonly played, he’s by far the most combo-able.
Diddy vs zoners is just obnoxious cause Diddy struggles to get in close enough to throw banana without commiting to a predictable monkey flip. also, ness vs zss is dumb cause zss trades with Ness all the time and ends up dying if the zss isn't precise with their positioning and drift when attacking
As a Ganon main. Become amazing at parrying as much as you can. Such moves that arnt multiple hits and nair trading hits is his biggest advantage in neutral imo.

No, people are still playing Pikachu, still playing joker, still playing fox, falco, wolf, still playing palutena, still playing zero suit, still playing samus, still playing all the links. Snake bayo too. frame 1 grenade means no combos so you get Snake to 200 and cant kill him. Then Snake uptilts and kills you with rage at 80.

The description with Villager and Piranha Plant also makes it sound like an excellent doubles team. Have Villager pocket his partner's Ptooie, and Villager is instantly armed with a 40% projectile that can kill at 50% at ledge.

I feel like Ness vs Snake is really really bad for Snake, Psi Magnet invalidates most of his gameplan.
If Snake insists on using explosives, Magnet might heal anywhere between 100% to 200% over the course of an entire match while fighting Snake, which means Ness is basically playing with an extra stock.
Snake has roll and up tilt. In my opinion, those are among the most broken moves in the game and grenade is not that important. As for Ness's weaknesses, in my opinion, Ness is weak to attacks from below, which up tilt is a great choice for, and roll attack also catches landings. Snake can also tech chase with grab, down smash and roll attack, which is very dangerous.

I'm a Young Link main. The Shulk matchup feels so oppressive. Shulk can just play his game and it directly counters all of Young Link's attributes. Monado range invalidates all of the projectiles, even the bombs, and his frame data is good enough that I'm still at a disadvantage when I try to take the fight straight to them. It's pretty rough

@@SamiJ1508 I don't feel as bad for this one tho. Link's disjointed and/or fast aerials makes it easier to get rid of Luma, and Link has confirms to get % or stocks when he manages to land a hit. Not to mention that, unlike PK fire and thunder, Rosa can't absorb arrows and boomerang for free because of the great frame data of those moves, making them at least usable in the neutral, and Link can recover against her. Tho I can see Rosa forcing Link players to shift their gameplan, I don't think it's as bad as Ness/Rosa

WiiFit versus Villager is actually worse. They can just pocket your soccer ball and your side B becomes useless cause you can't spawn another ball. I as a WiiFit main despise playing against Villager. 😑

Real talk: How many characters even have a decent time against Shulk? It feels like almost nobody actually has an advantageous matchup against him.
On the contrary, I feel Shulk is kinda weak most of the time... I use Bowser against him.
Shulk does really well against characters that want to get in close and land combos, but is actually not great against characters whose gameplans don’t involve either of those things, like a lot of swordies, a few superheavies, and certain zoners. Overall, the character is pretty strong though.
I use Terry and I never have a hard time dealing with Shulk.
I imagine Shulk struggling against counter, power armor and moves like explosive flame.

@Carter Gieni as a min min player, a good snake is problematic because his projectiles force min min to shield and when min min can’t move it’s difficult to keep distance. Plus snake can cover her landing options and side b of stage is so good at edge guarding her too.
Min min will single handedly keep kazuya out of top tier. Though realistically I dont think kazuya is THAT strong in general. Upper mid at worst. Probably better than that

Have you fought a good one yet? I don’t play either character so I’m not really one to talk but the way Duck Hunt’s tools can so easily negate the tools that Samus has to rely on seems very skewed in the dog’s favour. Unless you are able to land a controller spike and tech chase the controller’s bounce on the floor into a well-timed destruction of property (keep in mind that the opponent can counter play by camping you out afterward with a fully-charged lawsuit), then this matchup seems really difficult.
@@alolamao833 I mean, they're assuming full charge shot is being used, when pretty much every good Samus player rarely uses full charge shot. Charge shot is mainly used to force choices on your opponent for the Samus player to take advantage of, so they tend to fire more partial charge shots more frequently. Clashing with other projectiles is not that big of an issue when you do that. Duck Hunt's projectiles may trade with charge shot, but basically every single one of them has worse end lag than partial charge shot, and most of them have worse startup, can being the exception, but can is integral to Duck Hunt's neutral, so it's not always going to be available to tank a shot. And that's just one aspect of the matchup. Samus has better neutral overall, can punish Duck Hunt's recovery safely, and is a heavy character, while Duck Hunt has few true kill setups and generally poor kill power, so Samus should be living to high percentages each stock. Honestly, the matchup isn't that bad. The clip they showed just had a player with no good idea on the matchup, and didn't seem to realize that Samus needs to be the aggressor, and firing smash missiles wasn't going to win in the interaction.
I have never fought a duck hunt at high level but its not a noted issue.
I think Rosalina vs Pacman is probably worse than Duckhunt vs Samus, I remember watching Tea vs Dabuz on LMBM and Rosa's downb practically eliminated Pacmans gameplan, removing the hydrant and stealing his fruits. And even without the downb the fruit collided with Luma similar to Samus v Duck hunt,
Ness VS Rosalina is also a terrible matchup. Neutral isn't to bad for Ness. But recovering is nearly impossible when Rosa can just suck away your up B from miles away. (Lucas can recover slightly better thanks to his snek theter)
Yoshi is absolute hell for Puff to deal with. Yoshi shuts down Puff's biggest strength (Her air mobility) with his aerials having more range and power. She also has a hard time getting back down when she gets juggled by the Dino's Up air.

This might be biased since I main Steve, but I think that Steve - Shulk is worse than Young Link - Shulk.
*1.* There is no way to get in on Shulk since Steve has low range
*2.* Shulk has no trouble dealing with blocks whatsoever since 1 nair is enough to destroy a 3 high block wall (So Steve rarely gets to do any mining)
*3.* Steves combos (that usually deal massive damage) can be easily escaped with shield art, but good look getting a combo started on Shulk anyway.
*4.* Steve is pretty light, so smash art kills him super early.

While this is definitely a bad MU for Steve, I wouldn't say it's as bad as you'd think it is.
First up, the combo game. Steve's normal combos don't work on shield shulk, that is true, but oddly enough, he is one of the only characters who can still combo Shield Shulk anyways. It won't deal as much damage (0-to-death optimal combos become a max of 30-40%, usually a bit lower), but it's still far better than most character can do against shield art.
Second, Steve's approach. You're right in that Steve has weaker range than Shulk, but there absolutely is one tool that Steve has that can get in on Shulk - Minecart. Minecart's projectile is actually pretty decent at pushing Shulk back into a corner, since he can't shield it and is forced to jump or use a committal defensive option (rolls, etc). It doesn't immediately lead into damage since Steve is so slow, but it does allow you to back Shulk into a corner, where he actually has to fight you.
Finally, Steve's ledgetrapping. If you ever get a Shulk off-stage with a bit of time to spare, congratulations, you take the stock. Shulk's ledge roll is actually a little unique in that he can't roll past a TNT placed right on ledge, which lets Steve do a whole bunch of incredibly easy and free ledge-trapping setups that basically auto-kill a Shulk at ledge. It only works on Shulk, no one else, kinda weird.
Oh, I think proguides was referring to bad matchup for young link rather than good matchup for shulk but yeah Steve sucks vs shulk

Play her at a high level against opponents that know what they're doing and games against her are just as free as games for her, not so much a character thing as it as a how to play the MU thing. The hate for this character is 100% wifi scrubs whining since sakurai made an actually decent zoner. yes she has good matchups, but none of them matter so nearly much if you ban fd and use platforms.

When your opponent knows what you’re gonna do (grab or use aerials), you get spaced out until the timer hits 0
You may be able to predict one or two early spaced moves and punish with a 0-70 or 0 to death, but they still have more lives left

Dedede vs min min is obviously the worst in the game, dedede can’t do anything, because he has the slowest air speed in the game, he’s big, his up b is highly telegraphable, his gordo can be always reflected, he just has no tools
As a Piranha Plant main, part of me disagrees Villager/Isabelle being his worst matchup.
It’s a disgusting matchup nonetheless, but through personal experience, I’ve personally found Snake to be Plant’s nightmare.
Grenades and C4 completely wall out his approaches and unlike Villager/Isabelle, who are fairly light and can die early (also exploitable recovery), Snake is heavy and his recovery can be safely maneuvered + super armor on most frames.
Also. Villager can only pocket on spike ball at a time. Plant is safe to camp villager with more spike balls and poison gas.
Snake outranges and can decimate Plant at the ledge. His projectiles are just so much superior to Plant’s, which as you said, are Plant’s game plan.
Maybe there’s a few details I’m forgetting, but from personal experience, Plant struggles more severely against Snake than from Villager.

I was kinda expecting Villager vs. Hero. Hero gets bounce so often that Villager only gets to use only 3 aerials and his grounded moves can’t really get in. Tree, forward air, back air, bowling ball and lloid are crucial to his neutral that bounce literally invalidates his neutral.

King K Rool vs Villager is HORRIBLE for the croc. Any time the KKR is offstage, the bowling ball totally counters the vertical recovery from KKR. And you can just charge that smash as long as you want
Plus that little jerk steals the crown, which is the main neutral tool for KKR, and also good tech for landing out of disadvantage using the super armor
If you think about it: Any character that can absorb projectiles is not bad against Ness. And Ness has a move That absorbs projectiles so Ness is better and worse than Ness

Worst matchup : Peach vs Slope
Peach has her gameplay based on float cancels but it only goes horizontal so it makes peach impossible to move while floating near the ground because Slope cancels the float
Dk / megaman is one the same lvl as ganon / pikachu
I feel like Incineroar vs the Belmonts is worse than Luigi vs the Belmonts. All of the problems Luigi has are x10 with Incin and the pokemon doesn't even have insane grab punishes. Add in a recovery that's even worse than Luigis and you have a recipe for disaster, and that's before we talk about how bad Incin is at getting off the ledge, a vital tool to win vs the Belmonts
Yoshi vs Puff is really difficult for Puff as she gets a lot of mileage on the fact that jumping out of combos isn’t an option for the rest of the cast. Combine that with a down air that chews shield, an aim-able projectile, and a up air and back air that hit like a truck, and you have an incredibly difficult match up for the poor low/mid tier.
Ice Climbers Vs Inceneroar. This matchup I found favours Icys heavily. And it becomes really depressing. Inceneroar, always never gets to do his bread and butter(side B).
I don't think it's the worst match-up but a pretty bad match-up for Pit is captain falcon. Because of multi-hits, slow speed and floatiness, there's almost nothing Pit can do against raptor boost (only tipper F-tilt, tipper bair, down smash and down air deal >10% in a single hit and they all put you in bad or unreasonable positions to punish it). Add on cpt's 1/3 1/3 1/3ish neutral when you take into account grab and standard attacks and pit's general neutral falls apart. His superior ledgetrapping and juggling state with his speed and falcon dive (pit's Down-B, his only disadvantage mixup, gets beat by grabs and his floatiness makes for a bad time in general) just forces pit into the corner and never lets him out. My friend might just be better than me but I've locked that match-up as not worth it
as a plant main, it’s pretty hard to beat villager but once you learn and react to their actions you can kind of avoid it. man i hate villager either way
I play Ridley and Jigglypuff and the worst mashup for me is Ike vs Puff. It's winable, but really hard to find opening when you fight one of the safest landing n-air in the game with that big hitbox.

As somebody who uses Piranha plant I can 100% say it's the worst matchup. Believe me I have tried over and over again and it's just impossible if the villager player is even halfway decent.
I must've never played a top level Duck Hunt. My Samus can almost always jump in with a nair onto said Duck Hunt's wild Gunmen.
Same thing I was thinking. I struggle much more with min min, and that is playing aggressive and defensive.
Another matchup worth mentioning in this video would have been Falco vs King K. Rool. K Rool's only legitimately average neutral tool is crown, and falco has a frame 1 reflector, meaning K Rool basically has 0 options to approach whatsoever or any tools to gain any sort of space. When falco and K rool do have to scrap, falcos buttons hilariously outshine K Rool's on every front, and he gets cutscened harder than any character in the game once he gets up tilted. Up tilt bair from falco works until hilariously high % vs him. As if this wasn't bad enough, falco dair also trades with K Rool's up B SUPER reliably, meaning it's even a struggle to recover as K rool which is otherwise his most acceptable trait as a character.
Me and my friends tried another bad match up, which is Game and Watch versus Donkey Kong. I played as GW and I gotta say, it was REALLY interesting to play.
Samus duck Hunt HURTS bruh
K Rool v Villager is awful due to Pocket. Once crown is pocketed, K Rool will never get it back until he dies or Villager does. It takes away his key zoning tool, and it is rough.
K Rool v Rosalina is another awful matchup due to her down B cancelling Kanonball, and allowing her to essentially always get his crown if thrown.
K rool isn't a zoner, his crown is used to force the opponent to approach and fail/get beaten out, which is what k rool wants over keeping them away. He still has his best tools of fair and nair
If you play Donkey Kong, you simply get destroyed by 90% of the roster. He is seriously the WORST character that everyone plays online. I don’t understand why he’s so commonly played, he’s by far the most combo-able.

Diddy vs zoners is just obnoxious cause Diddy struggles to get in close enough to throw banana without commiting to a predictable monkey flip. also, ness vs zss is dumb cause zss trades with Ness all the time and ends up dying if the zss isn't precise with their positioning and drift when attacking
