Thank you for posting this. Very informative. I could actually feel the peace that you all must experience there. I am a Baptist minister and my observation is that you are giving these young men a very solid foundation and truly equipping them for a lifetime of service to our Lord. It is inspiring to all Christians.
The Benedictines can instill a tremendous ability to develop critical thought. Monasteries are typically located in bucolic settings so that obviously contributes to serenity. However with the right wing attack on gay men in the priesthood it's certain the numbers of seminarians might continue to decline. I've known several gay priests (obviously heavily closeted) who have served Our Lord admirably. Of pedophile attacks by priests the majority were perpetrated by straight men. I'm a proud uncle to several gays and lesbians who have developed healthy long term relationships and I, without reservation, shall verbally launch a diatribe against anybody seeking to denigrate any gay/lesbian person. If God is the Author of Creation and if, as science suggests, they were born that way WHO THE HELL ARE WE TO JUDGE?

I see one problem immediately.No kneelers in the chapel.That is absurd in a Catholic seminary.Many young Catholic men today are attracted to the Tridentine Mass.If you start using both forms of the mass you will immediately see an uptick in vocations.If your Ordinary Form masses are offered with great reverence IE latin,Chant incense that will help too.Singing “On Eagles Wings” with a brother playing guitar during mass will not attract today’s youth.May Our Lady of Fatima intercede for your Congregation.
the Church needs more TLM, the Mass of All Time. the young are attracted by the TLM and Tradition and run a mile from modernist liturgy and watering down our doctrines

Actually, the chapel does have kneelers. They are attached to the chairs themselves and are frequently used.
