The Benedictines can instill a tremendous ability to develop critical thought. Monasteries are typically located in bucolic settings so that obviously contributes to serenity. However with the right wing attack on gay men in the priesthood it's certain the numbers of seminarians might continue to decline. I've known several gay priests (obviously heavily closeted) who have served Our Lord admirably. Of pedophile attacks by priests the majority were perpetrated by straight men. I'm a proud uncle to several gays and lesbians who have developed healthy long term relationships and I, without reservation, shall verbally launch a diatribe against anybody seeking to denigrate any gay/lesbian person. If God is the Author of Creation and if, as science suggests, they were born that way WHO THE HELL ARE WE TO JUDGE?

I was raised a Catholic, until…I actually seriously started to read the Bible. We can read in Scriptures that Lord Jesus commanded the Apostles to first preach the Gospel to the Jews, and after also to the Heathen or Gentiles (but never vise versa!). I found out in Scriptures who of the Apostles for the first time went to Rome .. and it wasn't Peter. In the Book of Acts it says in Chapter 28 the following: 16 "And when we came to Rome, the Centurion delivered the Prisoners to the Captain of the Guard: but Paul was allowed to live in a house, by himself, with a Roman Soldier that kept him. 17 And it came to pass, that after three days Paul called the Chief of the there living Jews together: and when they came together, Paul said to them: "Men and Brethren, though I have committed nothing against our people, our customs, or against our fathers, yet was I delivered prisoner from Jerusalem into the hands of the Romans 18 who, when they had examined me, would have let me go, because there was no cause of guild in me. 19 But when the Jews spoke against that verdict, I was constrained to appeal unto Caesar; not that I had made any accusations against my Nation. 20 For this Hope (the Gospel of Jesus Christ) therefore I have called for you, to see you, and to speak with you: because for the Hope of Israel I am bound with these chains. 21 The Chief of the Jews said to Paul: "We neither received letters out of Judaea concerning you, neither any of the Brethren that came from there shewed or spoke any harm of you. 22 But we desire to hear of you what you think: for concerning this sect, we know that it is spoken against everywhere". The Roman Catholic Church claims that it was Peter who went to Rome first to preach the Gospel there first and that it was Peter who founded the Church there. Question: who lies? God,... or the Roman Catholic Church ? And what about the Letter in the Bible from Paul to the Congregation of Galatians where it says this in Chapter 2? From verse 7 we read the following: 7 "But on the contrary, when they saw that the Gospel of the Uncircumcision (Gentiles) was committed unto me, as the Gospel of the Circumcision (Jews) was unto Peter; 8 for He that gave Peter power effectively to the Apostleship of the circumcision (again: the Jews), the Same was Mighty in me toward the Gentiles. 9 And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the Grace that was given unto me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we (that are Paul and Barnabas) should go unto the Heathen, and they unto the Circumcision. Again dear Catholics: who lies? Gods Word, or the Roman Catholic Church? Bible, the book of Acts, Chapter 5, verse 29 : Then Peter and the other Apostles answered and said: “We ought to obey GOD - rather than man” !! Since the Roman Catholic 'church' claims to be well-read on scriptures, then please point me in the direction of where in the Bible it says to pray to a woman, or with a rosary (praying to May: "Hail Mary full of grace...), or to dead “saints.” Please show me where it says to call any mortal sinful man (the pope) your father. Please show me where the Bible says anything about purgatory, or paying indulgences (buying yourself into heaven - is God corrupt ?). Please show me where Mary was sinless. Why is it that Catholics worship Mary still as a virgin when Lord Jesus had half brothers and half sisters? Please show me where it says to confess your sins to a fellow sinful man so that he may forgive them? Show me the name pope in the Bible? Where does the Bible say the pope is the “vicar of Christ” on earth? Show me where it says that a preacher must be unmarried? It was the pagan ROMAN Emperor Constantine who was in fact the first “Pope” and he didn't allow for the common people to have Bible Scriptures...to keep believers ignorant, as the Catholic Church still does. Later pope’s started the ‘inquisition’ because the book printing machine was invented and people like William Tyndale could spread the Bible to the common people: he was burned to dead for that, and so were hundreds others who did the same and because they denounced the VALSE doctrines of Rome, and they were called heretics and witches by the Roman Catholic “church”- they were tortured, burned to dead - and murdered !!! GET OUT OF THIS FALSE CHURCH !!! The Roman Catholic “church” is a continuation of the old Roman PEAGAN Empire: it never went away as it disguised itself as a Christian Church. Read Revelation, Chapter 17: verse 7 and 8…please read, dear brothers and sisters.

Hi, thank you so much for your questions! I appreciate your willingness to ask, it's always good to dive deep and as St. Peter says in 1 Peter 3:15, to "Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect" I would love to help answer your questions! Without the Catholic church there would be no Bible. We do not worship Mary. We honor her as her Son Jesus honored her and we go to her because as a loving mother she will always help us and always bring us back to Jesus. She desires only to bring us closer to Jesus and to help us fall deeper in love with her Son. The Hail Mary comes from scripture, “Hail, full of grace; the Lord is with you” (Luke 1:28). When Mary visited Elizabeth, Elizabeth exclaimed, “Of all women you are the most blessed, and blessed is the fruit of your womb” (Luke 1:41-42). If saying what the angel Gabriel and her Cousin Elizabeth said to her is worship and sinful, that would mean our Lord who is only Good, would be sinning (Which of course, is not possible.) We are simply asking the Mother of God to pray for us. As to Mary being sinless this is a great resource to look at which uses the Bible to walk you through it all, www.catholic.com/magazine/online-edition/bible-mary-conceived-without-sin A great article on the question and Biblical explanation of 'Call no man father" www.catholic.com/tract/call-no-man-father If everyone in Heaven is alive then they are not dead ("God is not the God of the dead, but of the living." Matthew 22:32), So it is not a sin to pray to them to ask them to intercede for us so we can be better sons and daughters of God. Just as we ask our brothers and sisters on earth to pray for us, it is good to ask our brothers and sisters in Heaven to pray for us too since being in Heaven, they are closest to Him. We find all over Scrpiture in both the new and old testament the intercession of those who have died, such as Luke 16:19-31: Jesus' parable of the rich man and Lazarus indicates the ability of the dead to pray for the living, 2 Maccabees 15:14-17: Shows the intercession of the dead for the living, Revelation 8:3: The prayers of the saints rise up before God, and then God acts on earth, Jeremiah 15:1: Moses and Samuel plead for the Israelite people on earth long after their deaths, 2 Corinthians 1:11: St. Paul commands the Christians in Corinth to pray for him, 1 Timothy 2:1: Timothy commands the Christians to pray for each other. Here's a really great article on 'Myths about indulgences' www.catholic.com/tract/myths-about-indulgences In regards to confessing our sins, we can begin with Leviticus 19:20-22 where a priest was used by God as an instrument of forgiveness, "...the priest shall make atonement for him with the ram of the guilt offering before the Lord for his sin which he has committed; and the sin which he has committed shall be forgiven him." In the new testament we hear our Lord speak very clearly "Jesus said to them again, “Peace be with you. As the Father has sent me, even so I send you.” And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” which is John 20:21-23. James 5:16: “Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed." If you would like even more scripture to back this you can check out this article: www.catholic.com/magazine/online-edition/is-confession-in-scripture by Tim Staples who was once a Southern Baptist then converted to Catholicsm. St. Peter was the first Pope and when Jesus said "you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hell shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven." He carries on to say, "whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven." For the term 'Vicar of Christ" it may be good to understand the meaning of the word 'vicar' which means "a substitute; especially an under-servant [who substitutes].” Here are some examples of how that would look in scripture: “After this the Lord appointed seventy others, and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to come. And he said to them . . . `He who hears you hears me, and he who rejects you rejects me, and he who rejects me rejects him who sent me'” (Luke 10:1-2, 16). “So we are ambassadors for Christ, God making his appeal through us. We beseech you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God” (2 Corinthians 5:20). “[A]nd though my condition was a trial to you, you did not scorn or despise me, but received me as an angel of God, as Christ Jesus” (Gal. 4:14). “[Ananias] sold a piece of property, and . . . kept back some of the proceeds, and brought only a part and laid it at the apostles’ feet. But Peter said, `Ananias, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the proceeds of the land? . . . You have not lied to men but to God.’ When Ananias heard these words, he fell down and died. And great fear came upon all who heard of it” (Acts 5:1-5). Great question on celibacy too! Did you know celibacy is not the rule for all Catholic priests? In fact, for Eastern Rite Catholics, married priests are the norm, just as they are for Orthodox and Oriental Christians. St. Paul says, He who marries “does well; and he who refrains from marriage will do better” (1 Corinthians 7:38). Here's another verse which may help, “Not all can accept this word, but only those to whom it is granted. Some are incapable of marriage because they were born so; some, because they were made so by others; some, because they have renounced marriage for the sake of the kingdom of God. Whoever can accept this ought to accept it” (Matt. 19:11-12). I hope this clarifies a little bit, please let me know if not. I know how hard it can be when you hear a lot of different things from different sources. It seems the sources you've gotten information from are not aware of what the Church actually believes and teaches, so again I would like to thank you for asking. I would encourage you to say just one more Rosary, meditating on the mysteries (Again completely Biblical as it is the life, death, and resurrection of our Lord, Jesus Christ) and ask Mary and Jesus what you should do. I will be praying for you. -Your brother in Christ. God bless

I really like you prayerful approach to working out. I am a MMA fighter. Every time I step into the octagon I remember to not only fight for victory but through my training and fights to always put the Glory of God first before my victory. I believe I can defeat my opponent through the help of the Lord, and I offer my sweat, blood and tear I shed in training to the sweat, blood and tear Christ shed for us in His passion. I believe that prayer is something that could take my training to another level. Could you please recommend me some prayer intentions, and prayer to pray before and after training like you did in this video, I would greatly appreciate it, God Bless!
