- The call to life as a Benedictine monk at Conception Abbey is not a call to mediocrity. It's a call to enter into the most important battle of your life. The battle of dying to yourself to become Christ, to become a Saint of this age. If you feel called to this life, do not be afraid. Yes, this life is not easy. But it's the greatest journey a man could ever enter into. Monastic life is a gift. And if you're called to it, consider yourself extremely blessed.

Thank God for these men. They are praying for humanity ceaselessly everyday.
Recently I bought a Rosary with St. Benedict on it, and began praying through the prayers and liturgy of St. Benedict after I finish the Rosary. It's encouraged me greatly, and inspired me to work harder in my faith.
It makes clear to me that I am not all that Jesus Christ calls His followers to be, and gives me a blessed example in the form of the holy and venerable St. Benedict. All glory and thanks to Jesus Christ, and thanks be to God for raising up His holy Saints. ✝
Social media rep is working overtime on this one..amazing!❤
And that's just what this is, Catholics using Mormon production, so enjoy it while you've glossed over the tiredness of the narrating voice and content
@aaabbb-py5xd haha k whatever
@aaabbb-py5xd By your comment the only thing the mormons have to offer are cool camera effects.
No truth, surprised at how accurate

I just spent the weekend on retreat with these men. Many new vocations, great joy in the Lord. Fr Paul was excellent in leading us.
not sure if this video was supposed to be part of a vocations campaign but that went unexpectedly hard
this video goes hard ngl. Pray for me since even though I went through RCIA/OCIA to receive First Communion and Confirmation in May 2024, I think I may be called. I love learning about Catholic religious orders and the life of a monk/contemplative. However, I have to wait until 2026 to start discerning which Order I'm called to or if I'm called to the Priesthood at all.
With you in prayer❤
There is a religious order in Massachusetts that follows pre all Vatican 2 doctrines if interested I can send you there contact.
@@BrianBenson-rc9mu sure I don't mind
I'll pray for you brother. I'm converting to Catholicism and I'm also discerning. You are not alone. Pray for me. I'll pray for you right now

The Benedictines have always been a powerful force in the Catholic Church. Its good to see them still standing strong in Christ as we enter 2025.
Chills. God be praised!
God bless and thank you for what you do.
This goes hard, may God always bless the Benedictines.

Yes, I desire purity, freedom, and the ability to pray extremely effectively for souls in need
If God wants me to be a Saint, I will be. There is nothing I desire more than that. Or, more precisely, that is the only thing I wish in my life
I sincerely appreciate your support and support
Pray for me because i struggle with sloth
I’ll pray for you, I struggle with it too. Please pray for me as well
Will, and same.
Although I think mine comes out of a combination of ridiculous petty fear.
@ mine as well, man. Just fear.
Tell you what, each time we remember our own sloth, let’s pray for each other ( the three)

@@santiagogarcia5023I will too. May the grace of God be with you three. 💜
God bless you all. Thank you for serving Christ our lord. It’s a blessing to witness your beautiful vocation.
I do desire to be a saint
What you desire is a comfortable and eternal life, all of which humans will attain by ourselves in due time. If you will committ yourself to leaving this world and meeting Jesus in the next world then, well, at that point, I'd believe you're for real. Until then, lol
@@aaabbb-py5xd Tell me if one day you attained eternal life by yourself. No one ever did.
Why are you trying to comment negative things on everyone's comments in a video that has the message of "not my will, but yours be done".

This is awesome!
Best thing I’ve seen this week tbh
slick media videos shouldn't be downplayed in winning people over to the faith in general. i am becoming very interested in the church and i am not from a catholic background. The people who run the media for my local diocese are pretty good and i really enjoy the videos from St. Michaels Abbey which is located here in Orange County. Great video
May God bless you, sing out if you need any questions answered about the Catholic faith.
I had the pleasure of accompanying a couple of young men aspiring to the priesthood to a retreat up there last spring. What a beautiful place!

Just got recommended this - I love my dudes at Conception Abbey! I went there for sem.
Powerful video!!!
Fire video
I feel very defeated and scared about my soul. Severely depressed, damaged by medication, and disgustingly overwhelmed by fear and hopelessness. I already had general confession and house blessed, but still feel darkness. I don't kniw what else to do. I feel like God is disgusted by my cowardice and small faith.
I sincerely suggest to pray to Our Blessed Mother, I am sure She will help you and lead you to the Light, Our Lord Jesus Christ.
Awesome video!
Powerful message and video. Well done!
I desire to know god, his will for us, and his love. If becoming a monk or saint would bring me closer to this despite what I’d have to sacrifice, yes.
I feel like I was basically born to be a monk if I’m being completely honest, so that doesn’t bother me. but I just don’t know if I could ever be worthy of becoming a saint.
We are All Saints becoming !
❤
Awesome
So sweet❤
Yes
I am a saint as per the Bible!
The saints are the ones who are clothed in the righteous of the Lord Jesus, all all believers are saints by the Lord Jesus.
No, I do not desire to be saint, but I desire to see the face of God and know God.
I'm 33, working for a casino in Las Vegas and yet this life is calling to me. Surely I am too old?
Never too old! Listen to that voice calling you, my friend.
Imitate the lives of the Orthodox Saints if you want to be a Saint.
I desire it intensely but being under extraordinary diabolic affliction, nobody I appeal to takes me seriously despite this allowance by God, being sanctifying as it is, even when coupled with an invincible grace of perseverance.

Fast and pray brothers. Seek to draw closer to God, to be more humble. Seeking to be a Saint seems arrogant to me. Work and pray seeking to be a servant to God lending your hands and heart for God.
Would love if you were able to live stream Sunday masses every week and also evening prayers

If you find out let me know!
If you find out let me know!
If you want to be a saint, in the exact same manner as the saints that were around with Peter, Paul, Thomas, etc, then you simply have to do the exact same things they did.
Repent, be baptized by full immersion, get filled with the Holy Spirit (speaking in tongues) and walk daily in Christ.
Those are the things, according to scripture, that make you a saint and keep you a saint.
😍😍😍😍
All believers in the new testament church were called saints . Saints are believers in Christ and to hide yourself away in a monastery does not sound like imitating Christ which is what we are to do.
Yes, but I fail so miserably so often.
The armed forces should borrow this production crew
I know we all called to be a Saint but I'm not sure am I worthy to be a Saint!!!!! 😢😢😢😢😢
God's love makes you worthy ❤
Do not worry! Jesus’ love and sacrifice are going to sanctify you, if you let Him! Don’t doubt our God’s infinite mercy, and never believe that your weaknesses and sins are bigger than God’s power and love! Trust Our Lady and give it all to Her, She’s going to lead you in the way of the Lord and show you Her Son, our beloved Jesus!!
God calls us all to be saints, it's whether we respond or not that determines if we're heading towards Him or away from Him. in other words, you're worthy to be a saint, and God has prepared a place for you in Heaven, but it's up to you whether or not to follow Him there
POPE BENEDICT XVI: “Dear friends, Saint Paul in many of his letters does not shrink from calling his contemporaries, members of the local community, ‘saints’. Here it becomes clear that every baptized person - even before accomplishing good works or special achievements - is sanctified by God. In baptism the Lord, as it were, sets our life alight with what the Catechism calls sanctifying grace. Those who watch over this light, who live by grace, are indeed holy.” Germany, 2011
POPE BENEDICT XVI: “Again and again, the very notion of saints has been caricatured and distorted, as if to be holy meant to be remote from the world, naive and joyless. Often it is thought that a saint has to be someone with great ascetic and moral achievements, who might well be revered, but could never be imitated in our own lives. How false and discouraging this opinion is! There is no saint, apart from the Blessed Virgin Mary, who has not also known sin, who has never fallen.”
the background 'music' is appalling.
indeed, it would have been much better without.
I don’t think any true Saint ☦️ considered themself worthy to be called a saint.
Society tells everyone to be secular
Recruitment video? Be all that you can be! I would do it but I am of the wrong denomination.
That’s an easy fix.
@robscoggins True. But some of my beliefs do not mesh.
@@ronnier5349 if you believe that the Catholic Church is is the Church of truth then you'll convert. your beliefs
@@ronnier5349 What's an example where your current beliefs don't mesh with the Catholic faith?
@alisterrebelo9013 I do not believe in the trinity. Jesus, in my view, is not God or a third of God, however it is believed. I also do not believe in hell as most do. Nor do I believe that Satan was an angel pre-creation.

Religion helps regulate your life an helps you to do good, but it doesn't save you. The blood of Jesus Christ saves you when you invite Jesus Christ Into your heart.
Videos like this rub me the wrong way. On one hand I get it, wanting to showcase that religious life can be attractive and masculine, but the super dramatic music, stoic expressions, some guy working out 🤦♂I think this appeals more to someone who wants to be masculine and religious in a stereotypical and more shallow sense than it appeals to a real man pursuing sainthood.
it's more important to think about the message of the video, which is primarily to showcase what the order does and to give a good overall motivating message to people, which is what is said in the background. maybe it's not perfect but it's interesting to think about what life could be like as someone of this order.
@@cloverthefrog Yes, the message was spot on, but I don't think it shows hardly at all what life is like in the order. Most of what was shown was 4 monks walking through a field haha the reality is a daily grind like we all face, with hardships, sickness, encountering one's own weakness and sinfulness, menial tasks, silence in prayer. I also noticed that virtually no one was shown smiling in the video - no expression of joy amidst the daily grind. This is the kind of inspirational video I would expect to see in a secular context of men trying too hard to be "men". Of course it wasn't all bad, but I do think it misses the mark.
I worry that religious communities like this receive advice from the "experts" in social media production and marketing that this is the type of thing that will attract young men, and it may, but again, on a more superficial level. The reality of living this type of life is very different, and the focus is on Christ, not ourselves. Monks aim for humility, not stoicism, walking around like they're badasses. I don't think that was at all the community's intent, but that's the vibe I got from it. And it saddens me to see stuff like this, because I think it gives the wrong impression to young people who are discerning.
Being a monk does not make you a saint Religious orders is just one of many ways to sainthood Do not under estimate God and what he can achieve with his all his people God gives the fullness of grace and fullness of the Holy Spirit to whoever he chooses That might be the dishwasher the Rubbish collected or anyone else who walks in love with Him However being a monk is kind of cool !
Those Obama windmills in the background are so natural and beautiful. Wow. Mother Earth never grew such good looking windmills.
They’re everywhere now it seems.
I can tell you. You will not find god in communion but in solitude. When its just you and satan who will come to save you.
Satan was defeated by a Jewish girl 😂. A very finite and miniscule creature like him can't save a fly, if a fly had a soul.
Anyone who believes in Christ is a Saint. No works of obedience can save
Obedience to Jesus = Salvation. The one who does not obey Jesus, the wrath of God remains on him.
John 3:36 - 36 Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him.
@@alisterrebelo9013 also he who loves Jesus keeps His commendements
@@Furetto126 Yes, amen! The reason I quoted John 3:36 is to show this gentleman, that he is wrong to say "no works of obedience can save". This is absolutely contradictory to the Bible as John 3:36 shows that salvation is completely linked to obedience to Jesus.
all of this is nice, but the is no holiness in Church
Sanctus Sanctus Sanctus?
Why should I? Its extremely painful. Being sinful doesn't give me happiness but its not painful as becaming saint. Besides jesus is not a reward that sounds desirable. Only fear of hell could motivate men. But when you see its painful to not enter there then you realize that the most natural thing is sin and hell is more common than than heaven.
Holyness is a rare possibility but not what men truly want. Men wants no pain therefore is almost impossible to be saint
1 John 1 KJV 🩸
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
1 Corinthians 15 KJV ✝️🩸
1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
1 John 5 KJV
13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.
Being a Benedictine monk is not for everyone, so please, don't feel like you need to join them.
Only someone who has never experienced Jesus can say something as ridiculous as Jesus not being a desirable reward. Experiencing His love first hand was what stopped me being an atheist half my life. I wish I could transplant that experience to you.
@@alisterrebelo9013 no. Because know doesn't make you loving it.
If i ask you who knew more about god you or the devil before the fall who would you say? If I ask you who witnessed more miracles and felt Jesus' presence more you or Judas who would you say?
The point is that Jesus is god no one can't deny that and he is the truth also. But you can't reject the truth. Simply because is not a nice true is a very unpleasant one. And it is because is a truth shaped in a form of a crux.
And if its not then tell me why in the scripture is written that there are more who are condemned than in heaven.
You don't have to be a monk to be a saint
being a monk sure does make you grow in holiness though.
Social media' saints 😂
