    I have been watching your videos recently, thanks for the wonderful tips on everything. Does the cutting under water and applying of alum work for all or most flowers?

    • @ILoveIkebana
      @ILoveIkebana  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you for watching the videos. Most of the flowers are fine just cutting under water. Some flowers that don't last long, tend to last longer with alum.
      For wisteria, on the other hand, alcohol seems to work better.

    What a great trick. Does it only apply to the woody stems of hydrangea flowers or other softer flower stems too?

    • @ILoveIkebana
      @ILoveIkebana  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      For most flowers it's enough to cut stems under water. Alum, however, seems to work for most of the flowers.

    • @ILoveIkebana
      @ILoveIkebana  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for watching the video. Alum is not necessary for most flowers, but I see it works best for hydrangea. I will keep experimenting for other flowers.

      I tried Alum for many flowers. It doesn't harm, but for some flowers cutting under water is just enough.

    • @ILoveIkebana

      Alum is a food additive that you use for pickling and canning. You should find alum on the spice isle in a grocery store. I hope you find it.
