I would have never thought to use baking pans for ikebana. The last thing I need is a container for ikebana to start doing arrangements and this really saved me money!

Love the tip with reusing containers from the kitchen :) I went one step further as I much prefer the container to be made from a natural material and even if not flat, I use seashells. I don't use kenzan and if the seashell doesn't easily lay flat, I'll use no water even if the branches and flowers will wilt faster. They still look beautiful when dry.

You are so helpful. You make the obscure understandable. As an ancient art, ikebana is profound, mysterious, and intimidating. Thank you for helping beginners.

I went to Ikenobo and spent a little more, I didn’t know that I can use any of something flat in the kitchen 😆. I got something round closed shape with an opening on top. (I dont know how to describe it better) its like a flat dome with a mouth opening.
Could I use it with any style? Or it is better with slanting style arrangement? Thanks in advance! 😊

Without actually seeing the container it's hard to judge, but the most important thing is the total balance.

Hi. Can I use concrete or cement containers? thanks. I love your channel!

      Hi Pablo,
Thank you for your comment. Yes, you can use any container, as long as it holds water. Please make sure that the concrete or cement containers are not too porous. If water leaks, you may wan to seal inside somehow.
