  • Welcome back to Microsoft Flight Simulator. Today I'm doing some more viewer requests like reaching the top of Mt Everest, I also thought it would be fun to see how high we can go in a commercial airliner. Needless to say, it's quite high but due to the limits of the game, you cannot reach low earth orbit. Keep the suggestions coming and I hope you enjoyed this episode of Microsoft Flight Simulator!

    When you are looking at "breaking the sound barrier", you need to look at the True Air Speed (TAS) located under your airspeed tape. TAS is temperature compensated, where indicated airspeed is not. You hit over 1,000 kts in the descent.... Well over the sound barrier.

    So when the plane stalls and does those barrel rolls that’s actually called a spin where one wing is stalled more than the other and they swap the critical angle of attack at intervals,, to get out of them the acronym CFIs tell you is P.A.R.E., power out, ailerons neutral, opposite rudder, and elevator in (nose down) than out (pull back),, of course it’s gonna be hard to get out of an a CJ4 but try that next time :)

    When you go into any type of spin weather it be a flat spin (which are very hard to recover from) or a stall spin the first things you should do is
    1. Full power
    2. Full opposite Rudder (if your spinning right push rudder left/ vise versa
    3. And pull yoke in the opposite direction of the spin aswell.
    If the spin isn't to bad you should start to slowly come out of it and my tip is to push nose down untill you have enough controll to pull up and out of the dive

    • @rwwbeast1

    • @IcedDragon420
      @IcedDragon420 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@rwwbeast1 I don't think it was the settings buddy, it was more of the altitude, at that height if you stall out and start spinning even with all the steps you take to counter spin the thinness of the air simply makes it multiplyingly harder for the air hitting the control surfaces to pull the aircraft enough to counter a spin.

    What just happened with the bridge, when you went under it, was that all bridges... even the ones that look correct, aren't ... They all are essentially large rectangular boxes. Some look just that way, but even the ones that look correct have entirely incorrect collision areas. So, don't fly under bridges... 9 times out of 10 you will just wreck into an invisible wall.... actually, that would had been a black screen had you not had damage off.

    You're stalling and tumbling. That's why your airspeed increases and decreases again. Try to keep your speed inside the types limit (should be somewhere around 280kt for the 747X) and use your elevators with "a gentle touch" and try to compensate roll with using aileron and rudder both into the same directions simultaneously. So when it rolls left aileron and rudder both slightly right and the other way round. If you start tumbling, just use rudder against rotating direction and when spin stops, pull up.
    Btw, a B747 type will break apart before even getting near the speed of sound XD

    I like it! Keep it up, I haven’t watched some of your videos in a year or so but it’s always good to come back to good old drae. :)

    You could always try some of the more weirder cooler places in the world such as Stonehenge, the Giants Causeway in Ireland, Aokigahara or Gunkanjima in Japan or even Chernobyl where the nuclear disaster happened.

      @@bernardobritto8352 Thank you. That's pretty complicated physics. Was really interested as did not understand why the plane would stall.

    Try flying under a big suspension bridge like Golden Gate or Mackinac, some guy a month ago did that, and the authorities weren't too happy about it.

    Haha that’s not a barrel roll you stalled and put yourself in a spin. Apply full rudder to the opposite, neutralize the aileron. when the plane stops the rotation, you will be in the nose down attitude. Gently pull back the yoke to ease out of a dive. your speed at that point will be very excessive, apply power accordingly. :P

    On an earlier flight I was flying a sail plane. I wanted a ground launch. So I used the slew for maybe 1 or 2 seconds. It worked very well.

    You was already breaking the sound barrier when you was falling early on the speed is altitude dependant IAS300kts at sea level is not the same as IAS300kts at a higher altitude like 35,000ft, Actual speed would be True AirSpeed, If you look at the speed indicator that shows Indicated AirSpeed at the bottom it says TAS750KT for example that is your True AirSpeed which you would use to know if you are breaking the speed of sound, you even went passed the 999kts and it rolled over with max speed at about 1958kts lol Mach 2.97 at that altitude, Indicated airspeed is basically equivalent airspeed to sea level with the air mass you are running into for lift and performance, link for a chart for altitude here www.engineersedge.com/physics/speed_of_sound_13241.htm

      See I was invested in this comment and actually learning something, until I kept thinking about all of the spelling and grammar issues. It normally wouldn't bother me, but if you know this stuff about piloting, I would expect you to be better at writing as well

      @System32F 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Lunatra Haha Okay I really don't know why your trying to insult me for my spelling but English is not even my first language and Its a comment on youtube not something important so I lacked care in writing, Having knowledge has nothing to do with spelling and grammar, in fact I hold a commercial pilot licence and learned this stuff early in my training...

    You can't pull out of the supersonic dive because supersonic flight *really* interfears with the effectiveness of the hinged elevators on the tail. It's why supersonic fighters have the entire tailplane move instead.
