I have been going to the YORK TCA fair since 1980. I was new and was able to talk to Lou Redman one of the original members. He saw me looking at 3 passenger trains, which I bought from him. I didn't know who he was until I saw his name badge. Very pleasant and comical gentleman. He told me that things had really changed . So now, things have changed since then. Prices were very much higher then. You couldn't buy a Lionel standard gauge blue comet for less than $10,000.00. There were several sets at the show and I sure wanted one. But they were too high for my pocketbook. And then came EBAY and the internet. What was thought to be very rare was not so rare at all. Then MTH moved in. Some liked Mike and some were angry that he started reproducing Lionels trains. With that he brought in new technology. I met him and he was a very interesting entrepreneur. I missed this year but plan to go in April.
I went to York for the first time this year and it was one of the best experiences of my life! The TH-camr panel was awesome and I was very lucky to win one of the raffles for a train car! I was so cool to get to see you guys in person rather than through a screen! I was able to pick up 2 of the Lionel WWII art ps1 boxcar sets and Union Pacific stock car for my Big Boy. I already can’t wait till next time!
Maybe you could take your son to some of the club events, make a father-son evening , to get him more interested in the hobby, maybe also stop for some ice cream on the way home
Had a great time at York got to goto the lower susqahanna club on Friday had a great time and enjoyed the utube meet and great all in all a great 3 days
Hey Chris! Great York video as always! This year I was finally able to make it to York after several failed previous attempts. And it was a pleasure to meet you after you did an awesome job as MC for the YT meet and greet! Also, I am very grateful you included me and my channel name on the fund raising t-shirts! They turned out great and I am excited to see to proceeds going to such a great cause. Guess I have to really step up my YT game with the extra publicity LOL! Thanks as always and keep up the great work you always do!
Thanks for this visit to York, Chris. Always a happy time. Your added some great models to your collection again. It'll be nice to see them on the layout.
The M&G gets better each time. Can I suggest putting the date on the T-shirts if you decide to sell them again? And you need to feature that Ghostbusters train. That was very cool.
It was an excellent meet and greet, for sure and you did a fine job moderating. It is great that the proceeds from the shirts are going to a good cause. Too bad that there wasn't enough time for an audience Q&A, though. The show was really quite good this year. I found a few things that I liked, but they were duplicates and I needed a couple of specific items, although I picked-up a Florida East Coast caboose that is pretty sweet.. An added bonus is that I got a handful of subscribers to my channel. Either way, it was a successful show. An excellent video, as always.
Went to my first York Friday. Was completely overwhelms when I entered the orange hall. I did somewhat feel like a misfit though. I dont have a layout, much storage space, or a very large budge. I also don't do O scale, I do semi scale like Railking and Lionmaster. However I did walk away with the custom run RBMN RDC set from Gryzboskis Trains. I did have a great time at the Meet and Greet.
If you are up in York next year for either Spring or Fall York, you should come by and visit us at the club. A few of us there are into the same highly detailed modeling that you are into.

I had a great time at the club Friday. Met some great guys. Thanks for the invite. I am interested in what curriculum you have set up with the Choo Choo Barn for bringing young people into the hobby. I would like to know more.
BC Rail units weren’t that uncommon in the eastern US, so even a NS or CSX modeler can use one. WOW. Glad to hear MTH is rerunning some European stuff.
Did u get any of the new mega steam smoke scents, they were already sold out of apple cider, and at the end of the salei did get the demo bottle of donut shop as they sold last couple early on Sat

Trainz had a motherlode of professionally weathered modern rolling stock. I picked up a bunch of those ever-popular Atlas Trinity hoppers.

I had a great time at York today, it's hard for me to take off work as this is the busy season for generator maintenance
Good to have seen you. I ended up with an MTH premiere p2 y6, p2 big boy, p3 BN diesel switcher and a dummy cn sd90. Good prices.
Sorry I missed you this year

We moved it to Friday this year due to our availability and the fact that there are more people at the show on Friday.

I have 3 photos from the meet and greet that I took from the back of the room if you want them.
In your opinion, is spring or fall better at York?
Fall is usually better since there typically is a lot being delivered by dealers.
I gotta stop watching these videos, living in Nebraska i cant make the shows and im seeing so many products I want
