Hi Craig, it was great to see you and Jenny on Sunday, it was a very mellow show with so much to look at, there were some very interesting layouts to look at, I met quite a few TH-camrs for the first time, I’m surprised Cavalex didn’t win an award for their excellent class 56 locomotive, James at DCC Automation and his colleagues were delightful and very helpful, all in all a very decent show, thanks for sharing.

Loved GETS this year. It was fantastic with such a great positive vibe to it. I enjoyed all the layouts and was most impressed with that £500 one from Hornby Magazine. Love what Jonathan had to say too. Very inspirational. My favourite from the show was Grestly Bridge but I also loved Charwellton into the 1980’s. Thanks for a great video.

@@IronHorseRailways - Locomotion - I've only seen a very few brief clips, so cannot really comment. The complex motion looks quite fragile. I like the idea of putting the speaker into the toolbox perched on the back of the tender. If the DCC socket is in there, too, it makes installation a lot easier.
N Gauge and O gauge. You are a cheeky Chappy. We both roared with laughter. At least he can climb into the OO gauge locos and drive them. On a more serious note, I always wanted a Lotus Europa, sadly once I could afford one we found I do not fit, Charlie would.

A very good summary, Craig. Your narrative approach transforms your viewers' experience. I was going to say "hi" at the show, but you'd been acostered by a very large American (or was he Australian?) whilst I was walking past, so left you to it. Once again, the show had a great atmosphere, with everyone there to enjoy themselves. Whilst there was plenty to see, I thought the layouts were neither not quite as good as last year, nor as good as at the NEC earlier this year. However, it won't put me off from attending future shows, as the standard was still very good. Congrats to Charlie and his hat-trick of wins. Will Hornby Magazine "do a FIFA" and allow him to keep the trophy forever, just like Brazil did with the original World Cup??

@@badwolf506 fair question, and let me be absolutely clear on this - both are superb examples of the class, truly they are - what inches it for me with the Accurascale offering is the extra weight, (not that the Cavalex one is too light or anything) Also the slightly finer meshing on the grills, as well as the on board stay alive function. Like I say, there's not much in it whatsoever, and a modeller would be lucky to have either examples on their layout - Both Accurascale and Cavalex are making various numbers from the class, so if the pocket permits, why not one from each?
@IronHorseRailways Well I would have to disagree with you there. Our 60 actually has finer mesh and also has stay alive fitted as standard. Also the detail on ours compared with the samples shown so far is far more refined and exhaustive.
@@outonroad that's fair Cav, the mesh did look finer to me but, I can't really make a truly fair comparative at the moment, Once accruascale have their final version on the market I'll have to do a proper "head to head" video I think. But really, as I said, it's so bloody close it's almost impossible to pick one that takes the lead in any major meaningful way... The true winner will of course have to (Somehow!!) produce GBRF 60002 "Graham Farish" 😂 Lovely to have spoken to you guys this weekend, and thanks again for letting me film and see your class 60 in action! 😍
Great video Craig. I find it a shame when two manufacturers have new locos out but none are available as they are all sold out on pre-order. Just seems a bit pointless to do that. Puts you off buying new, even if you really want it.
@@Jaherick they're both on pre order, but try your local model shops, they're probably in possession of stock allocations! Also Accuracale usually end up with spares so, keep your eyes peeled buddy
Local model shops will have some (eg, mine is Great Eastern Models, Norwich), and it's a fact of life that nit all pre-orders are confirmed. I have managed to get my hands on 2 Accurascale 37s direct from the manufacturer by signing up for alerts when this happens. Good luck on finding what you want.
The locos aren't sold out on pre-order, that's not how it works. You can pre-order from any of our retailers (Cavalex). Our retailers order those from us and then an extra contingency for shop stock afterwards if you are wanting to wait. I will say however that our 56 was the fastest selling model ever at all of our retailers last year so the shop stock probably won't hang around long.

Hi Craig, It really pisses me off when all these companies produce these marvellous models, and yet they cannot supply a driver, the main component with any moving loco. Aslef must be pulling their hair out. 😅😅😅
We have custom made plug and play drivers specifically for our Cavalex class 56 and class 60 available from ModelU. We have queried drivers with the factory previously but the quality of the figure wouldn't be up to our stringent detail standards in both moulding and finish so have chosen ModelU instead as their drivers are custom scans and very well detailed.
