What a fun project and display for the office - from the ceiling no less!! Very creative and exceptional use of space for sure!! Many Wegmans grocery stores used to have ceiling layouts in their dairy sections!! I'm sure everyone in the school loved this for the holidays!! Great job Chris!!
Great job. I bet the kids loved it. As a retired math teacher, I once did a display case on all the different scales of trains from N to Standard and the ratios involved to the real stuff. I was in Middle School . I hope I got some of the kids interested in a lifelong hobby.
That came out so good, really great hints on how to shorten the straight sections using the straight edge and tape measure. Looks great with the fake snow, glad to hear it was a hit hopefully you find a way to keep it up all year.
Very nice! This is an excellent tutorial for anyone who wants to build a ceiling layout, especially in a room with drop-ceilings. It also gives good information on how to build an open-grid layout. This will be fun for the kids to watch and even get them interested in the hobby. An excellent video, as always. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
What a great project, Chris! Fun way to bring some Christmas cheer to the office. I'm impressed with the careful prep you do to make the final result so satisfying. May you and your family have a joyful Holiday Season and happiness in 2025!

WOW, THE drop ceiling with the tile clips made that really easy!

Man, why couldn't you have been my elementary school principal? I would have stayed in trouble. Nice work Chris!
Hahaha!
Looks great, but don't let the fire marshal see it.
Great job and it looks great.
This looks awesome! Great way to get the kids interested in the hobby. They are lucky to have you as their principal.
Nice! Been wanting to bring the hobby to the kids at my school too! Great idea

Happy Holidays to you and yours, too!
This is such a great idea, awesome job!
I think you will inspire a lot of people to the train hobby with that simple ceiling train you could call it the sky liner 👍🚂🎄😃 Happy holidays
Looking great!
GO FLYERS!
Well done! Merry Christmas!
Happy holidays!
Looking forward to this!
Great Holiday project, Chris. Thanks for sharing!
I used stainless steel joiner plates to connect. I also kept my corner pieces square against the wall. I did this because it was mounted to the wall.
Looks Great!
Very Interesting we See A lot of those my friend did that when My wife and I go On Vacation We See Places That Have that Done.👍👍👍👍.
Well done!
Cue the Home Improvement theme song! Get your Tools from Tim and Al!
Get some rolled cork (used for putting under rugs) and put it between the track and the ply wood. It will the sound a lot. Otherwise excellent job
Yeah that’s the plan. I was up against a Deadline to get this finished. But I’ll add the cork later.
Next a helix to lift a running train to the ceiling.
🙂👍👍👍👍
Cool! Are you the principal?
Jig saw or router to cut the curved sections? I’m looking to build a scenic-ed loop for under our tree
A Jigsaw would be easier.
great job looks nice. Check out my instructional video - upper train hanging from ceiling
